We enjoyed our stay with a large group of 16 friends and family. Upon arrival we were met by a great staff, including the front desk manager whose name I cannot remember. She was great. Each room was different (some better than others), but the overall cleanliness of the rooms was good. We enjoyed our balcony. Dinners at Helena's were great. I also liked turn-down service and the sweets placed in our rooms at night. The hotel has a lot of character and the location is great.
I stayed in this hotel for seven nights. The room was very comfortable, good service, fantastic restaurant, and great location, close to the university. Without any hesitation I would recommend to stay in Coopmanhuijs.
Quaint and quiet. Clean, cosy and romantic. The breakfast is healthy and fulsome - both cold continental and hot food to order served in their beautiful dining room We found the staff very helpful and aiming to please in a friendly manner. Hillary at the front desk was especially helpful on our arrival by recommending restaurants for us and booking the ones we decided on along with drivers. The recommended restaurants that we chose exceeded our expectations. The hotel location is perfect. Right in the centre of the old town - walking distance to restaurants, art galleries and shopping. We had lunch on the hotel patio. The menu has lots of great choices and we chose two that we were thrilled with. The patio faces a quiet street but there are lots of shoppers going by making it interesting to people watch whilst you enjoy your meal.
From the staff, to the location, to the food and the service, is of highest standard! What a pleasure it is to sit outside and look at all the small little shops - it's not noisy at all - a peaceful place with very high standards.
It was a pleasure to stay at Coopmanhuijs Hotel! Staff was very friendly and competent. They helped whenever you had a question. Thank you for booking Tickets to RobbenIsland, for organizing a new GPS at Europcar, while wie had been in a trip...... ,
In the heart of sleepy and chic Stellenbosch, the hotel provides charm, style, and comfort in good size rooms. Beds are comfortable, and bathrooms are large with separate shower/tubs. Some upstairs rooms and no elevator. FYI. Helena restaurant is also very good. Breakfast is quite good. Bar staff also very knowledgeable about wine.
Great little hotel in the center of the town. Excellent service, rooms are very cosy, not huge but everything you need. Overall the atmosphere at the entrace with fireplace is just perfect. Great bar with good choice. good wifi. The breakfast is superb, do try the eggs royal. They have the helena resturant within the hotel and the dinner there was perfect (see other review) as a guest you get 10% discount. We had a early departure so we got a packed breakfast and freshly made coffea to go and that was perfect for our trip. Idealy located to walk around and join the old town.
I was blown away by the wonderful service, outstanding restaurant, elegant rooms and overall calibreof Coopmanhuijs Boutique Hotel. Definitely the best hotel that I have stayed in during many visits to South Africa.
We know Stellenbosch well and found this location perfect. Easy to move around the village in the evening and we loved the cosmopolitan feel of all the surrounding restaurants and shops. The staff welcomed us graciously and hospitality was excellant. Enjoyed our meal in the restaurant; best risotto I've had for ages. Room was a little noisy but never a problem. Beds comfortable and service good.
Did not know what to expect as it was my first time to Stellenbosch. Attractive boutique hotel in the heart of Stellenbosch. From the first moment you set foot on the property the service blows you away. Room was sexy, clean and cozy. Hotel restaurant was impeccable as well (Breakfast and dinner). Wonderful experience. We will be back!!!
