Very friendly welcome after our long flight from UK. Our room was wonderful and the breakfast superb. They recommended a trip round the local vineyards with the African Wonder Tours which proved to be fantastic. It was good to be able to hand over the hire car to a valet and not worry about it for the duration of our stay as the hotel is so central with wonderful cafes, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance.

What a pleasant surprise. A wonderfully renovated hotel in the heart of historic Stellenbosch. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds and great restaurant. I'll be back when I next stay in town. The attention from the staff was super .

This is an amazing experience, from accommodation, receiption to the coffee bar,the restaurant.Breakfast was outstanding and always on time. The park lot with valet facilities is another plus point.Very cental and walking distance to anywhere in Stellenbosch.

We recently stayed at Oude Werf hotel with our GOOD Travel group. We chose Oude Werf because they are Fair Trade Tourism certified. This hotel is involved in a variety of inspiring initiatives relating to sustainable tourism and they do an excellent job of communicating their important work to guests. We loved learning that our stay supported Kids of the Cape and we enjoyed learning about the variety of initiatives they are involved in to reduce their environmental impact. Special thanks to Saskia for the exceptional welcome and support!

Wonderful night spent in the oldest hotel in South Africa. After a great day wine tasting it was a treat to go back to this perfect hotel in a great location. Very clean, well appointed rooms, great breakfast and really lovely friendly staff.

This hotel is a real treat. Beautiful decor, breakfast was amazing and the staff were so helpful. Nothing was too much to ask. The free secure parking was excellent too. This is a great base to visit stellenbosch , using it as a base for wine tours and local restaurants Would go again !

We appreciated our (short) stay in this oldest hotel in SA. The rooms have been very nicely renovated, were clean, spacious and a great sphere was created via furniture. Bathroom was very good. Great shower. We will revisit!

Very good hotel with great staff Breakfast is one of the best and rooms are excellent Second time I have stayed and yes I recommend it I will come again Good advice from front desk -Andre. Used local über driver Norman for day in Capetown I will use him again

This hotel is a gem. A beautiful mixture of historic monument and sleek but cost contemporary styling. It reflects Stellenbosch's cool but laid back North European vibe. Amazingly helpful and friendly staff and delicious top quality ( and reasonably priced -in U.K. terms) dining. Car parking taken care of for you. Our room was just beautiful, and the bed one of the most comfortable (and biggest) I have ever slept in. The only slight, tiny complaint was that the hot water took a while to come through into the sink taps (the shower was great). We were on honeymoon and received bubbly, chocolates and a bed decorated with petals! It was very special.

Our 6th time since 1991...the new part is a very successful modernization, we always feel secure in the middle of Stellenbosch with reastaurants and shops to visit even in the evenings. The hotel has an excellent service, valet parking, washing service within one day, good breakfast, very nice rooms and is worth its price. We'll be back, that is for sure!
