Stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our cozy, cute accomodation. We booked a 1 bedroom apartment which was huge, having all basic necessities. No ocean view but thats ok, you're walking distance to it. The apartment is cleaned daily except Sundays. Cape Town is experiencing a terrible drought so unfortunately the pool is not available for swimming but you can still sun tan. Food options are plentiful as Camps Bay is full of hot spots and trendy eats.
We stayed on the top floor for four nights with our family. The location in camps bay is perfect, within a 5 minute walk on the seafront. The view out the back was of Table Mountain, whilst at the front was Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles, and the most spectacular sunsets. Camps bay has a mixture of lovely restaurants and chic shops, as well as a small supermarket. There is a red sightseeing bus stop which is great for sightseeing around the area and has an interesting and entertaining commentary. There are a few market stalls for beaded and carved souvenirs - be prepared for a bit of good natured haggling. The apartments are clean and well equipped, with TV, DVD player, dishwasher and Nespresso machine (no capsules provided though). There is private and secure underground parking on site, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We stayed at the Glen apartments on 10/01/2018 for one night. We arrived early in the morning around 10.00 am after landing in Capetown on an overnight flight from London. The accommodation had been arranged for us through Trailfinders. We were told on arrival that our apartment would not be ready until early afternoon but Ashraf, the manager, very kindly arranged for us to take a shower and change in another apartment until ours was ready. These apartments are spacious, well equipped and in a quiet location with views of the mountains.
The apartments were very nice and well equipped. Kept clean and beds made daily. The only small critisism was not enough hangers, I am sure theses would have been supplied if requested. The staff at reception could not be more helpful and booked any trips and offered local advice. Great location close enough, but not to close to the main front area. 10 minute walk. You could see the cable car for Table mountain from the apartment. The big problem was no free Wifi in the room. If you require Wifi give this place a miss.
We stayed here for Christmas and enjoyed the freedom it offered. The apartments are huge and very well equipped. The Retreat opposite is well worth a visit for breakfast, a meal or a walk around the wonderful grounds.
We booked our stay here through our travel agent and had a spacious 2 bedroom ground floor apartment with a mountain view. Accommodation was clean and well appointed with everything you could need to self cater if you chose to. A 15 minute walk to the centre where all the restaurants were and a short taxi ride home again made this a convenient stay for eating out too. Over the road in the Club you could access free wifi, get drinks and great customer service. The lovely Eugene served us with awesome hot chocolates and a smile on every visit. Would stay here again - loved it!
we stayed in a lovely apartment here which was very clean and spacious. We had a couple of small maintenance issues but these were fixed by the staff immediately. Ashraf at reception was very friendly and helpful too. The small pool the apartment had was dirty and not usable but I am assuming this was because the of the severe drought affecting the area. The Red Button internet (a separately paid for option to get internet in the apartment) was very unreliable to not to be recommended
We were late arriving at the apartment but the security guard led us over to the Camps Bay Retreat hotel where upon a helpful gentleman came over to apartments opened up reception and checked us in. We had an apartment in A block and all was fine. It was well furnished, had radiators as well as A/C (being mid season we didn't need either). Wifi has to be paid for and had a bit of trouble getting the log in screen but once the helpful lady in reception had rebooted the router the log in screens came up. Feels a bit disappointing having to pay for wifi in this day and age and given the superior quality of the accommodation. They have severe water shortage issues in SA particularly Cape Town and there was a lot of work being done to sort the water pressure, it was fine in our apartment. We enjoyed breakfasts and dinners at the cafes/ restaurants down in Camps Bay. The main restaurant area is a 10min walk downhill. The location is very convenient for exploring Cape Town and the Cape Point area.
We stayed at The Glen for four days in October whilst we explored Cape Town. The accommodation is situated a few miles from the centre of Cape Town, but offered a good beach and evening restaurants close by in Camps Bay. Particularly well positioned for a visit to Table Mountain. The room was fine, but a little dark as we were at the back of the property. Security was good, with 24/7 guards at the entrance. On arrival, we received a warm welcome from Arshaf, who was very helpful providing local information.
We were a party of 8 and had rented 2 flats. Ours in Block A had lovely views but had some serious maintenance problems. We gathered that the heating wasn't working and were told that an engineer had been called but for four nights we were cold in a South African winter and no engineer appeared. Secondly a really bad smell suggesting a blocked drain could not be dealt with until Monday as there was no one on site. In fact the other flat in Block C was much bigger and better. The other problem is that our flight was late and although ringing up and warning that we wouldn't be there until 7 there was no one to welcome us apart from the security man and some process of obtaining keys from a key safe. Then find your own way. Not good enough when having pre warned and costs being substantial. Breakfasts at Camp's Bay Retreat were good although slow service. Ours was included but the Retreat needed convincing we had prepaid. Wifi a bit of a mess - apparent charging but somehow with much fiddling some free. Some of the apartments are privately owned and occupied. The set up needs some reviewing if it is to offer the first class experience these well equipped flats suggest should be available.
