10-15min walking distance from the restaurants (we were told it's safe and we never felt otherwise). We had A11 which is very well appointed with 2 bdrms and a lovely big kitchen/dining/living room. Nice balcony with sea view but mainly trees - I suspect A21 above has a better view. Feels very safe - you get a car gate key fob. Great base for all local activities. Helpful staff. Only a shame that free wifi doesn't extend to the rooms. Mattress in our room on the hard side. Camps Bay Retreat is literally over the road and available to guests if you want a lovely terrace drink/meal without the 15min walk.

My family stayed at the Glen apartments in December 2016 we rented three apartments Both my daughter and I had items stolen for our rooms. The management did not respond to many phone calls and emails for almost a month. Finally when they did contact me they said they would look into the issue and never got back to me. My daughter had money in her passport inside her suitcase which someone had gone through and removed. I had a pair of designer sunglasses stolen from the room. The lack of contact and response from management made me more upset that the financial loss. I would not recommend staying at the Glen apartments it is not a secure place to leave your belongings.

We have just returned from a week in Camps Bay staying at The Glen Apartments. All I can say is BRILLIANT. we had booked a two bedroomed apartment for the three of us but on arrival was shown to D27 which is at the back of the block nearest to the pool. We arrived really late so just grabbed a bedroom and went to sleep. On waking up the next day we could not believe where we were it was absolutely beautiful. We had views of the mountain and the sea with three patio areas, a fully equipped kitchen, four toilets and three showers and one bath. We are used to going on holiday and sharing a hotel room so this is incredible. We went down to reception as my sons bag had not come off the plane, to explain to them they would be receiving it at some point during the day. This is where we met Lethu (hope I spelt that correctly), she was so helpful every day. We had a couple of problems with our safe whIch she sorted straight away and was always available, with a big smile, to help and advise us regarding trips, restaurants and the local area. Thank you so much you were great. The apartment was cleaned daily and towels and sheets replaced after four days though you can request this more often. Yes the pool is small but we found it to be OK. It is really just a "dipping pool" as you don't need an Olympic size one as you have the beach. All in all these apartments were a great find, really enjoyed our stay there. Only downside is that it is very much uphill from Camps Bay so we would walk down in the day, walk back up to get ready for dinner, but after dinner get a taxi back up. This only costs about 50 Rand so well worth it. The retreat over the road is good for breakfast but there are cheaper places in the bay. We could not however, use their pools or their gate to get to the main sea front which would have made life a bit easier. So basically you are good while you are spending money there. But this was my only criticism and nothing to do really with the apartments. All in all a great stay was had by the three of us

We were so happy to stay at The Glen Apartments! We arrived here after a wedding and ready to relax for a few days. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was fantastic! Spotless and comfortable. Great beds, bathrooms and very well equipped kitchen! Great views of the sea! The staff were incredibly helpful. We had 2 areas for improvements - the wifi isn't included. For the price of the stay I would have thought it should be included. It was around 185 rand for 1GB of rather patchy internet. Also it would have been fantastic to have kitchen staples such as salt and pepper and cooking oil provided in the kitchen. Seems a shame that every guest had to buy their own. Great security and car park underneath the building. You have access to other hotels affiliated to The Glen in Camps Bay to use their pools and facilities. Overall we were so happy here and can't wait to return! Thank you for looking after us so well!

We recently stayed there and we paid 360€ for 2 nights for a 1 bedroom apartment. The apartment was just ok, nothing special, but for 180€ per night, you expect to have wifi included in the apartment. Every time we needed internet, we had to go to Reception. The cleaning was not also their best. All the windows could have been more clean and we found everyday some ants at the bathrooms. If we ever come back to Camps Bay, we will not stay there again.

This is a modern block positioned on the outskirts of Camps Bay at the end nearest to Cape Town. The apartments are clean and well cared for and remarkably spacious. A11 and A21 have sea views from a balcony on the seaward end. The small salt water swimming pool is attractive and well kept. It is largely in shade so it is refreshingly cool even on a hot day. Glen Apartments are managed by Village N Life who look after numerous other properties in Camps Bay. Most importantly, this means that you have access to the facilities of the property immediately opposite the entrance to Glen Apartments, the Camps Bay Retreat, where you can use the bar and restaurant on the veranda looking over the bay. This is a pretty special spot. The food and service are excellent. You can walk down through the gardens of the Retreat to a gate which lets you out onto the strip. From there it is a short bus ride into Cape Town.

We ordered a 2 bedroom apt but received a Huge 3 room apt. The apartment is in a secure building with underground parking. It is Clean ,spacious , very well equipped kitchen with Washer and dryer. The apt is very well situated just minutes from the beach, restaurants and a good supermarket. The glen resort is over the street and has a great breakfast and view! A special thank you to GERHARD that welcomed us and showed us to the apt, answered all my questions and assisted in every way.

We stayed in apartment D27, a top-floor 3-bedroom apartment. It is modern and well-equipped and offered good views back to Table Mountain and down to Camps Bay and the sea. Reception was not obvious - it was through the hotel part of the complex, but they were very helpful. There are also security guards on duty on both the apartments and hotel site, so felt very safe. If you intend to stay there and self-cater, there is one store in Camps Bay that we could find, which was very affordable but had a limited range. We also had an issue where my son had his mobile lifted from his pocket inside the store. He realised what was happening and got his phone back, but it wasn't evident that the is-store security guard was interested in doing anything. The local bus service - my-citi or similar - is very reliable and cheap. Go to the library to get your card (behind the food store). The red tour bus is also frequent, though not evidently good value. The apartment had a few faults, and these didn't really spoil our time there. We didn't really get chance to tell reception because we were out and about, but they took our comments seriously when I did mention them. I would stay there again, and Camps Bay has a good reputation as a place to stay. Please note in the ratings that this is not a hotel but an apartment.

The Glen Apartments are associated with the Camps Bay Retreat across the road. I sent my review to the management by email on 27th August 2016 prior to copying and pasting the review after they have had the opportunity to read it. I waited until August 31st to post. What follows is most disappointing: We have just returned from a trip of a lifetime on the African Continent. It was a trip of a lifetime with the only significant problem in three weeks being the Camps Bay Retreat / Glen Apartments accommodation in Cape Town. The farce of a check in/ arrival system in that the driver of the transfer van and 6 Australians who had been travelling for over 24 hours had to wander around calling out until security personnel arrived. No one answered the intercom to the Camps Bay Retreat. (Despite it being a known arrival and before 10pm) Eventually the security men were able to access the manager and we booked in. We were given room keys and the remote control to the Glen Apartment gate. Hardly a warm welcome. I acknowledge that they had arranged for bread and juice and milk for our room for breakfast. And the room was spacious and comfortable. We had no phone in our room and could not contact reception. The next morning we were to meet a driver for a tour of Cape Town at 7.30am. We had no where to wait other than in the cold outside the Camps Bay Retreat gates as no one answered the intercom. Fortunately the tour arrived at 7.35am and we had a lovely day including buying earrings that were "allegedly" stolen whilst in the accommodation. The next day we had another pick up at 7.30am. Unfortunately the tour arrived 45 minutes late. We could again not get any access into the Camps Bay Retreat as the intercom did not get answered. It was very cold. The tour guide and driver were most sorry but explained that the tour people had sent a fax to Camps Bay Retreat informing them to tell us that the pick up was delayed. We had not received any such fax. That afternoon, after returning from a fabulous tour I visited reception and asked why we had not received a fax. I was informed that the fax machine was not working properly!! At that time I also booked breakfast for 7.30am the following day (as had been suggested when we initially ordered supplies for our room) before a trip to the wine country. At 7.20am the next day I arrived at the gate ahead of my family and friends. No answer to the intercom. The rest of the group arrived and after continuously trying the intercom and asking the guards (unsuccessfully) to contact the Camps Bay Resort we abandoned the booked breakfast plan and returned to our room to scrounge the remains of the food that had been placed in the room as breakfast. Most unsatisfactory. And cold. Eventually we were picked up on time by the driver from the day before and had a fantastic wine country tour. We had not had to try to contact the Camps Bay Retreat about the pick up as the driver had assured us the day before that he would be on time. I should note that until that time the security guards had seen our recurrent predicaments as we would wait outside watching all the school children being dropped off for the day at school and they were very friendly. That afternoon, after arrival back from a great day I visited reception and informed them of all the problems described above. I emphasised that the security guards had been fantastic. We also booked a taxi to take us to the Waterfront for a trip at 9am to Robben Island the next day. The manager was apologetic and agreed that the situation was unsatisfactory. He gave us the number for the security keypad so we could open the pedestrian gate to the Camps Bay retreat. (I would have thought this should automatically be provided on check in!!) We were informed that breakfast was available from 7am and so we booked breakfast for the following day at 7am. The next morning at 7am we entered the Camps Bay retreat and found our way to the dining/breakfast room. The kitchen/ service staff also appeared to arrive at the same time. The continental breakfast was therefore put out gradually over the next 25 minutes which made the notion of having breakfast at 7am a joke! Because the staff were busy putting out the continental breakfast the attention to service such as coffee and tea was poor. I pointed out to the waiter that we had a taxi booked at 8am and, as I was keen to have a Benedict Bailey (their eggs benedict,) needed to have it started. It took some time and was not served until about 7.35am. I have eaten many eggs benedict over the years but had never been served one where the egg was essentially hard boiled. Unfortunately, give the absence of service and the booked taxi, I did not have time to order a replacement and so ate a most unpalatable meal. That afternoon we returned after our tour of Robben Island and lunch and the manager gave me a bottle of wine to say sorry for how we had (not) been looked after (as described above). We chose to have drinks on the picturesque verandah and then dinner on the beach front (I should note that this was the only time my daughter did not lock her case and so was almost certainly the time we were (allegedly!) being burgled. Interestingly my family all remarked that the previously friendly staff did not seem as friendly towards us. The next day we had a 5am pick up for a shark diving trip. Unfortunately that night I pulled the curtains in our main room which caught the television and it fell forward and cracked the screen. Now that we had the security code for the gate I went across at about 4.30am and spoke with the night security man in the Camps Bay Resort and explained that I had caused the television to be broken. We then set off on the Shark Diving trip. When we returned late that afternoon I went straight over to the reception desk and saw the manager who had apologised about our stay the day before. I said that I am sure that he had heard about the television. Somewhat to my surprise there was no discussion about this or possible insurance cover etc, but rather I was informed that the purchase of a replacement television was already on my account. Despite the really poor service that we had received from the resort I paid the account then and there.( It has been with hindsight that I wonder about not having the opportunity to ask whether the resort had breakage insurance etc as is often the case in places that I have stayed in around the world and in Australia. I have broken things before (c'est la vie) and have always informed the establishment and have had to pay insurance excesses etc however always after an amicable discussion. And sometimes have not needed to pay.) The following day was another 5am pick up to take us to the airport to fly to Botswana. It was when we were packing late the night before flying out that we discovered that we had been (allegedly) robbed of my daughters Tanzanite earrings. It was too late to contact the police and then we were out of South Africa and out of internet or telephone range until I emailed Camps Bay from Victoria Falls. And the Resort, unsurprisingly, reported that after an "in house" investigation their findings about the "alleged" robbery was "inconclusive". I hope that I will be able to report that my daughter's insurance company was more sensitive than Camps Bay retreat. I should note that one must use the safes and not be seduced by the illusion of security with gated compound, guards and fences! So, in essence, a most disappointing and disturbing stay.

Stayed here in March 2016 and cannot fault the cleanliness and superior equipment. Although there was a mix up with our apartment when we arrived which was a little upsetting but it was soon sorted and I cannot stress enough how helpful the management were. They did their best to get things right. There is a superb hotel opposite The Glen called Camp Bay Retreat and the breakfasts and dinners there are e cel lent. Highly recommend you give these places a try. You do need a car for this location.
