we stayed for 2 nights and we have enjoyed our stay!! receptionist was very helpful and friendly, room was clean and you can choose to eat breakfast from 3 reastrants which was great. thank you!!
The position is actually one of the strengths. All in all it is nice to be able to change the place for breakfast has its advantages. Parking is very convenient and safe. The room was very large although it was not a suite. We slept on the back, I think the front rooms are very noisy
Nice reception, made booking 3 hours before arrival. Room was very spacious, but had a strong chemical smell as we walk in. The bathroom was very tiny and not in a good condition. Floor tiles chipped and grout was black... bathroom accessories and towels was neatly packed and clean. We opend the very large windows, for the smell but then the noises from the restaurant was very disturbing. So no winning... kitchen cupboard was practical (even though we didn't need it). The leather couch not in good condition. Bed... definitely not a king size... room did not look like the pictures at all. Couldn't sleep, as the smell was overwhelming. Lastly, on arrival the receptionist told us to collect our breakfast voucher in the morning, but when we ask, they said our voucher was not included. Definitely will not recommend this hotel, sorry.
I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Everything about the hotel is great. It has nice central location and is close by to all popular tourist places in Cape Town. Just 10mins drive from Waterfront, few minutes from long street, 5mins from table mountain. The front office staff was great and very helpful. They helped me plan my trips also gave very good advice. They have tie ups with 3 restaurant /bakery for breakfast. Most of the time we had breakfast at Knead Bakery which had many options. Great hotel and is pocket friendly.
We regularly stay at this establishment and enjoy the facilities. great location, free secure parking, superior sized rooms and well priced. we have noticed though, that maintenance has slipped. needs a coat of paint!! tap loose in bathroom etc, etc.
Loved absolutely everything about this hotel! Great accessibility! Wide variety of restaurants within and around reach of hotel. The hotel and staff also make great ease to access restaurants. Great privacy! Room service is also quick and best! The room itself has less a hotel boxed feel and is a comfortable apartment setting! Loved it!!! Real value for money!
We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel was located in an area with many restaurants close by and there is Woolworths supermarket about 10 mins away. Pros: 1. Friendly and helpful staff. Especially Sindy. 2. Good and safe location. 3. Mini kitchenette complete with fridge, microwave and utensils. 4. The breakfast voucher which can be used at Knead Bakery. 5. Room was spacious and comfortable for 2 people. Cons: 1. The shower door was broken and not fixed. 2. Had to climb stairs to reach the reception on the 2nd floor. When we first arrived, luckily we had help to carry the luggage up the stairs. It is best to drive into the carpark and take the elevator up to the 2nd floor. Car park entrance is next to Simply Asia restaurant. 3. Room faced the street and was noisy at night. This may be an issue for light sleepers. 4. The towels were not clean and had hairs. 5. Housekeeping can be improved. 6. Ordered room service but the menu was outdated and showed prices that were not updated.
We had a great 3 night stay at Hippo Boutique Hotel (back facing room) - excellent location (felt very safe to walk after dark to nearby restaurants/bars off Kloof Street), modern style, and daily ZAR100 vouchers to great breakfast options (Knead Bakery and Molten Toffee were both amazing; we did not try the third). Room was spacious and fairly clean, though bathroom could have used some fresh caulking and it felt a bit like we were staying in a college dorm room. Wifi was slow but doable. Definitely a great option for the value.
Stayed here for 4 nights in December. Cute hipster like hotel with 2 great restaurants below. The hotel doesn't have a kitchen but they give you coupons to 3 nearby restaurants for breakfast if you opt of the breakfast option. The restaurants were all great. The room was large and clean with a little kitchenette area. The hotel is by a mall/shopping center, an easy walk to long street and overall convenient area. Would stay again!
We were greeted by very friendly receptionist Sharon, who told us about the hotel. Complimentary Coffee and tea availabe in the reception area. Room was big and well equipped with ground coffee and various teas plus a jar of cookies. The kitchenette area had washing up liquid and sponge. Fridge was full of drinks to purchase if you wanted. Good free wifi. Comfortable bed and settee. Bathroom had bath and separate shower. We had a room at the back. We stayed for 6 nights at the start of out holiday and returned for 2 nights at the end. Everyone friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend this hotel as in a convenient area to walk into the centre in the daytime. Myciti bus stopped very close.
