Disappointing boutique hotel

Recepion terrible. When we arrived receptionist was on a personal call and did not care about us. We had to wait for her to finish. Could not park the car as the entrance to the garage was blocked by a car of one of the people renovating the restaurant. After we unpacked we went out for about an hour. When we returned the front door to the hotel was locked. We called the after hours number on the door and nobody answered. Later a man appeared and opened the door saying he is alone and had to lock when he was upstairs. Our stay included breakfast. As they are renovating the restaurant we received a voucher to use at a nearby coffee shop. We voucher limited us to 1 of 2 breakfasts listed on the menu and a cup of coffee. I am not surprised that the hotel was empty. I cannot recommend the place. Totally disappointing.

Great location right in the centre of Stellenbosch with free parking and a great breakfast. Staff were super helpful and really pleasant. The property itself is showing some signs of wear & tear and probably needs a bit of money spending on it to ensure it doesn’t slip down the list!

While the property is in a great location and the staff including the owner and Sammy are excellent hosts, we will not stay here again because it was distinctly average. The walls had markings like something had splashed on it and it had been wiped off, giving rather irritating streaks on the bedroom wall by the door and the bathroom walls. The bed linens were not very old, did not quite fit the bed and in comfortable as were the bed and pillows. Breakfast was average as well. The room is also really small so if you have big suitcases and staying for more than a night or two, you may struggle with the space.

Horrendous experience

I did not even get to check-in. Parking was unavailable, either in the front of the hotel, and the entrance to the parking garage was small, thus no SUV would fit. When I asked for a refund, I was put on the phone with the owner. He asked me what time in the morning was I checking in?. Strange as it was three in the afternoon. Check-in starts at two. He then asked me if I was scared and what type of vehicle I drove, he also asked me where I was from and how many businesses I owned, he constantly repeated the questions, again and again, then laughed, asking me why I was so tense after trying to explain the issue numerous times. Draw your own conclusions. Never again

The guest was kick out from the breakfast area and had to complete his paid breakfast quickly. No happy with the remarks your staff member / waiter / receptionist making on his last day at your venue.

Good value accommodation in a central location. Had everything we needed with helpful staff. Booked 2 rooms as myself and husband are used to extra large bedsvand space, this was a good move as the space would have been too tight for us. But a good stay.

Nice hotel let down by cleaning.

Nice hotel in a convenient location and very friendly and helpful staff. Free breakfast was very nice. Rooms were small but well equipped. However the cleanliness of the rooms was disappointing. The floor clearly hadn’t been swept from the previous guests and the minibar needed a good clean.

Great location, excellent breakfast and the ladies on reception and at breakfast were great - thank you. The studio room we stayed in was ok, coffee Milk etc didn’t get topped up during our 3 night stay and lack of parking is a drawback but overall a good base to explore Stellenbosch.

Fantastic stay. Highly recommend. Rooms are large and very well done. Rooftop is great for a sunrise coffee (unique to Stellenbosch to have this). Great breakfast as well!
