The Fairfield Inn is located perfectly to fully enjoy the Cape. Easily within walking distance of shopping and restaurants, this property offers everything a family, couple, or business traveller requires. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The bathrooms are as well and immaculately clean. The breakfast area is large and staff very attentive to ensuring the food is hot and well stocked. There is an indoor pool and a fitness room adequate to maintain whatever level of routine you require while travelling. The front desk staff are highly efficient and attentive to your needs. They're very friendly and make your stay memorable. Considering it's location, amenities, staff and condition it's one of my top choices in the area. I highly recommend it.
The only complaint is the pool. It is small and high chlorine levels. The drains on the area around this indoor pool did not seem to be working. I had thought it was because so many kids in the pool but was the same the next day and only a 4kids in the pool. Everyone was nice and the room was clean.
Our team stayed as part of a weekend soccer tournament. The staff and management were so accommodating and really made it a fantastic experience for our families. The front desk checked us in early so we could get out to our games and we're so helpful in helping us arrange for a fun pizza party and movie night in their conference space, which was a total bonus and a hit with the kids. The adults had a fun time in the comfortable lobby area and were really made to feel welcome by all the staff there. The breakfast area was also ideal as we had to get up and out in the mornings quite early and the large space made it easy for everyone to have a good breakfast before the game. Highly recommended for groups and teams who are looking for a place that will welcome them and help make it a fun visit!
This property is newer. Positives: the staff at any Marriott properties always seem torn between 1000 responsibilities but able to handle it and sustain a smile. Friendly here. The breakfast is very good, and it's not easy to make institutional eggs taste good, but they did. Clean. Good location. Full human sized shower! Negatives: only one. When we checked the first evening about 7:30 the staff was still cleaning. There was a lingering smell in the hall, institutional cleanser over something, spilled wine?? Probably temporary from a guest but not the best intro. Overall I expect we'll return.
This is a newer property and is standard for the chain. Our room was clean, beds were comfortable and the breakfast was very basic. The employees were friendly and accommodating and were successful in putting an end to a very loud party going on down the hall from our room. All in all, standard fare for a Fairfield Inn. My only complaint was the price - $373 for a standard room, on a weeknight - is excessive for this type of chain. Now that I am more familiar with the area and would feel comfortable staying outside of the standard hotel chains, I doubt that I would choose this hotel again.
We stayed here for three nights and there was a tour bus there each night, very common in this area. The hotel was very clean and the staff was always on point to keep it that way. A special shout out to the breakfast staff for keeping the area very clean and we'll stocked. Not easy with a bus full of seniors and all of the other guests. The location is very good and near the mall if you need it. The only negative was the fact a city ordinance required the nice pool to be locked and a staff member to sit there like you are a little kid. It was not comfortable having a guy sit there while two women just wanted to relax. It was really off putting and you felt like you were imposing in a way. We skipped the pool the rest of our stay.
This property is fairly new (opened about a year ago). The lobby is great and the free breakfast had many selections. The room was clean and very nice. Also has a microwave and mini fridge. Did not visit the pool or fitness center.
Our family of 4 (including 2 elementary aged kids) stayed here for 3 nights. We chose this place b/c it was newly built (<1 year), as cleanliness was important to us. As expected, everything was pretty much new. We also picked Fairfield b/c of its location, middle of the Cape within driving distance to Mayflower/Chapin beaches (20 min) and Chatham (45 min). Of course, there are pros and cons to any hotel, and here are ours. An unfair comparison was that we were coming from several nights in the Intercontinental Boston hotel, which is a stellar hotel compared to Fairfield, but we still did enjoy Fairfield for what it had to offer. Check-in and check-out were fine. We were greeted by friendly staff. No lines. There is cold water to drink when you enter/exit the building. Breakfast was comprehensive. My kids loved it. They rotated a few items in each station daily. There was a bread station (bagels, English muffins, toast with jam, cream cheese, etc), protein station (scrambled eggs, Canadian or regular bacon), make-your-own-waffle station, cereal and milk and yogurt, oatmeal, fruits, coffee with milk and also soy milk (which was a treat). The staff stood close by and refilled/cleaned up constantly. Very diligent breakfast crew. The breakfast area is also pretty nice. Small but modern and functional. Rooms were clean but small. The blackout lights did not work that well. The noise of the door closing is very loud, so if one of us had to leave for breakfast earlier than others, it would wake everyone up. The beds were decent, but sheets smelled a bit--the kids were complaining they couldn't put their faces in the pillows--not sure if it's the detergent they are using. We asked for spare blankets and those were horrible -- cheap polyester, worn rags really. My kid said it was so scratchy we didn't end up using it. As with any other hotel, there is no noise barrier between the room and the hallway so you can hear when people are talking/walking outside. Bathrooms were clean. The tub is very shallow and small. But otherwise, just very basic and new. Products included shampoo, condition, lotion, makeup wipe, soap bars. There is also a hairdryer. Housekeeping, unlike other hotels, were not that friendly. They weren't mean, but when we said hello, they did not even look up to make eye contact and just said a flat hello. Maybe they were having a bad day (it wasn't everyone, just 1-2), but I am used to staff on the floors greeting with some kind of kind hello. Little things that make such a big difference. They did do a good job cleaning the rooms and providing extra towels. The saltwater pool is tiny. Used once but preferred the beaches. Perks: 1) The convenience of having the Cape Cod Mall within a few steps was nice. It's literally as if the Fairfield Inn is located adjacent to the mall. 2) Free wifi 3) Free parking (esp having come from Boston where parking was hundreds of dollars) Overall, it is not a 5 star hotel, but it is new and modern and fine enough. We would consider staying here again in the future. Wish they had real suites with separate living rooms, but there are only single rooms throughout the facility.
Stayed at this hotel last week in July while traveling with family. We chose this hotel because we wanted a private bedroom hotel, but discovered that even though they use Suites in the name, there are no rooms that are more than a single room. Very disappointed. I understand that there are some hotels that use this misleading terminology, but I still think it's false advertising. There is nothing special about this hotel for its category. Breakfasts were below average. Pool is tiny, no hot tub. I'm a fan of Marriott hotels (being a Platinum member), but I'll never stay at a Fairfield Inn again.
The hotel is located on a major road next to the cape cod mall. We stayed there and took Day trips to several towns and also Martha's Vineyard. It is about a 10 minute drive to the ferry, 45 minutes to Chatham and 1 hour and 20 to ptown. Uber and lyft are readily available for a ferry ride. Breakfast was good, standard Marriott breakfast and it was available to 10:00am. The hotel has a small salt water pool that we did not use. The king suite was nice. My only grip was house keeping. We were there for a few days and chose not to have the room made up. The do not disturb sign was on our door the entire stay. However that didn't stop housekeeping from knocking on our door several times early in the morning on multiple days. On our last day I was awoken and answered the door in my PJs and pointed to the sign. If you like to sleep in and not be disturbed by housekeeping look elsewhere. For $300 a night, if you do not want to be disturbed you shouldn't be. Please click on the I found this helpful button. Thanks for reading.
