A friend and I visited the Dolder spa for a full day during a weekend visit to Zurich. This has been one of our better picks in a spot that turned out to be taken either straight from heaven, or from a different time dimension: The spa is located at the bottom floor of the hotel and offers a perfect experience for the ritual loved, the detail oriented traveler or anyone who is in for a true indulgence: clean, well designed spaces, surprising functions (including musical hammocks, an artificial snow space, a japanese black-bead bed etc.). We also experienced 2 treatments, including a bamboo shiatzou and Swiss Ice facial cleansing - both delivered in the most professional, calming and relaxing manner by truly dedicated personnel. Thank you Dolder, we'll most definitely be back.
Best location in Zurich to enjoy a glass of wine, having an easy lunch at the Saltz or eating an outstanding meal at the Restaurant. The view over Zurich is breath taking, the service always without any flaw and super friendly, the quality of the food in bar, both restaurants is delicious, even Heiko Nieder from the Restaurant and his crew, certainly deserve to be called artists. The wine menu is assorted with the best of the best.
I have been fortunate enough to stay at this hotel a number of times over the last twenty years and each time I go back I am continually impressed. This is a property that marks the very highest levels of hospitality on the planet and is not to be underestimated. Every department excels at what they do and coupled with the most incredible surroundings this makes for the most memorable experience for all the right reasons. There are so many wonderful aspects to explore here, each one as fabulous as next. I do not necessarily believe in perfection but this is about as close as it gets.
This hotel is spectacular, the employees go above & beyond to accommodate you. The rooms are very spacious & comfortable. Definitely one of my favorite ..The views are something to see I'm am so going back
Just like a storybook castle, this fantastic venue stands dramatically on a hill with superb views across the City and lake to the mountains of Alps, and just 10 min from downtown. Surrounded by forest, it is just breathtaking...
I attended a business workshop at the Dolder Grand in May 2017. I didn't actually sleep in the hotel but used the faclities, including restaurant, throughout the day. The experience was absolutely top class. Brillant service, very good food, exceptional building marrying traditional and modernism in a very elegant way. I cannot comment on the view as this was a cloudy day :-) but I know it is one of the best view of Zurich.
It's easy to review this hotel, there just are not enough stars in the rating process, 10 stars are required. I beleive the restaurant has 2 Michelin stars and numerous other local awards. The rooms are large absolutely well appointed. The staff are amazingly well mannered, helpful and knowledgable. I really don't know that you could ask for more than what is available at the Dolder Grand. The first hotel ever that we were escorted to our room by the person that checked us in. Amazing
We had a little one night getaway with my husband two weeks ago, and decided to go to The Dolder Grand. By far this is the best hotel in Zürich. From the second we arrived everything was just perfect. First class service, amazing facilities, gorgeous views over the city and lake all the way to the mountains. Our room was fantastic, comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom and a nice view. What more can you ask for. We were also very impressed by the interesting art collection spread out all over the hotel. Could have spend half a day just admiring all those art pieces. Our dinner at the Restaurant Salz was very nice. And the breakfest was lovely. All in all a five star experience,
We were quite upset to see some very negative reviews for this hotel as our experience could not have been any better. One of the best hotel experiences we have had. We stayed early Feb 2017. We booked the day before we arrived, over the phone, and the lady that sorted our reservation (Selena I think) was amazing. She was so helpful despite the late notice. Check in was done efficiently and quickly. We were accompanied to our room and given an appropriate explanation of how everything worked. The room was amazing and wow what a shower! The spa area was included in our room fee and was a true experience. The view from the outdoor hot pool was postcard perfect. The concierge was great. They worked really hard to book restaurants and provide information on other sites etc. The free shuttle service to town was useful. During our first conversation with concierge we asked for an explanation on how to get to one of the restaurants we had booked. We assumed we would be told that they would happily organise a taxi. Instead we were offered the free use of the hotels BMW X5. We ended up borrowing the car to go to multiple dinner bookings, the Zoo and just to drive around the mountain. At no time were we made to feel uncomfortable about requesting the use of the car. This service was completely free except for a total charge of 22CHF for fuel!! I could write a much longer review of this hotel but I think our view of the hotel is now clear. I will say that we did not arrive in a Bentley, are not movie stars or the like and we were not wearing Gucci and Hermes. If anything we may have been a little inappropriately under dressed for this type of place. At no time were we made to feel less important than any other guest. If anything, the staff made us feel like celebrities. The one and only slightly negative aspect for the hotel was the restaurant. Without going into too much detail (as this is a review for the restaurant more than the hotel) we found the food did not quite meet the Michelin stars and price of the restaurant. It was by no means bad, one would just expect a little more. Overall an amazing hotel and we can not wait to return.
