Well what a completely awesome hotel. We checked in after a very long commute from Australia and immediately fell in love with the loft we had booked. It was absolutely huge! I loved the fact that we had access to a full kitchen and that the bedroom was separate from the rest of the room. The decor was superb, modern, bright and very cool. The little sheep decoration was adorable. Great toiletries and the bathroom was amazing. I could have stayed in the shower all day. The only downside, and admittedly this was something I should have checked up on before, was that it's right next to a very busy train line. The trains run almost all night so I did have trouble getting a good night's sleep. That aside, it is a wonderful place to stay!
I was only there for one night and this hotel came after a recommendation. After checking in, in the evening, the front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful, especially with this being my first time in Switzerland. For the room itself, they really live up to their name. It is interestingly designed. I really like the minimalism. The bed was very comfortable so it did not take me long to fall asleep. All in all I have no complaints and recommend this hotel without hesitation.
A very nice boutique hotel. In a good part of town albeit a little walk from down town and the old city - but not too far. Large rooms which are quiet. A little warm at night but that is the only complaint. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend this highly.
I stayed with my family in this hotel for 3 days. I would really recommend this hotel to all the family travelers. Its very centrally located, with bus stop and tram stop hardly 5 minutes away. Also the staff is very friendly, i would like to especially mention and thank "Francisca" for her help and hospitality.
Admittedly, I’m not a fan of boutique hotels, but a team member suggested this hotel for this brief, 2-night visit in Zurich. Check-in: The desk attendant (sorry, I don’t remember her name) was very personable and friendly; provided excellent information about the hotel. Often, when you check-in late at night as we did, you get front desk robotrons who rattle off practiced verbiage. Here, she was upbeat, informative, funny, and charming. The guy who worked the desk late at night wasn’t as personable as she was, but it’s all about personality. She was great; he was OK. Room: I had a huge 1-bedroom unit with a kitchen, living room, and dining area; and a large bathroom. I think this room is called a Living Design Loft. Quite spacious – open concept living room/dining area. The bedroom was functional and because I spent very little time in the room itself, I left my open luggage on a couch in the living room so I can’t remember much about the storage space in the bedroom. The kitchen was large and could be utilized, but I wasn’t staying long enough to take advantage of it. I was able to make tea each day, which is a plus for me. The bed was comfortable. While I’m not a big fan of televisions (and I never turned on this one), it was too small for the space. My only complaint: the bath towels. They were thin and I’m not sure they were replaced each day. I don’t think the desk area had enough outlets (my pet peeve about most hotel rooms) and I was able to make do by using other outlets in the room. This room faced the street, but the noise didn’t bother me. Besides, I’m in a city. Given the location of the room, it’s not unexpected. Breakfast on both mornings was perfect. For me, they had enough fresh food selections to keep Europeans and Americans satisfied (eggs, cereals, meats, cheeses, breads). In fact, after the first morning, I was looking forward to breakfast on the second morning before departing. The good news is that there was “just enough” so (I think) they were mindful about being wasteful of food. The wait-persons during breakfast were efficient, if not particularly customer-friendly. They were great at their job, but seem to lack personality (unlike my initial front desk attendant). Other: The hotel has an industrial look to it. If you don’t like that type of design, you probably won’t like the place. However, it worked well for me. Loved the design of the open spaces (they had a very nice outside sitting area). When I return to Zurich, I’ll definitely try this place, again, and for a longer stay.
If you must visit Zurich - I will never go again - this is a great hotel to stay in. The room is clean, lots of amenities, the food at the restaurant is excellent, and the staff is lovely. Our family of four (two kids, age 14 and 9) were very comfortable there. It was a refreshing 25 minute walk downtown from the hotel.
First time for me to stay in lifestyle hotel. The hotel is different than other hotels I’ve stayed worldwide. It has different taste and atmosphere. I feel more home and more staying with friends. I stayed there for 3 nights for business and my stay was fantastic. The hotel staff are extremely helpful, friendly and real ambassadors. I had easy check-in then the room I got was unusual in a way I had to take a lot of photos. I tried dinner, breakfast and drinks at the hotel and I’ve enjoyed all of them. The location was not bad but with nice walk you could easy reach the lake and old town.
We only stayed here a few nights, but found it satisfactory. They serve a nice breakfast in the morning but there isn't much variety. The clean room had a lot of space, with great big windows which was very nice. Nice sized bathroom as well. No air conditioning, but there was a fan running. The train tracks are right beside the hotel which we found to be a bit noisy. Regardless, it was still a good nights sleep.
Greulich Design & Lifestyle Hotel is one of the very best hotels I have stayed at. It is much more to my taste than the stuffy Zurich hotels closer to Zurich lake. The area is fantastic, with lots of little restaurants and bars. The room is a very spacious and relaxing design with a separate bathroom area, living area and bedroom. Things I particularly liked: comfortable bed, free water fridge, L'Occitane toiletries, breakfast selection, free WiFi, yoga mats in every room, quality radio... Little touches perhaps but when added all together it adds up to a fantastic experience!
This hotel was awesome for our first 2 nights in Europe. Having endured a 21 hour flight from Australia it was heaven to check into this hotel. There was so much room and everything you would need to be comfortable. A kitchen including tea and coffee, lots of included bottled water, well appointed bathrooms with l'occitane products. The breakfast was limited but fresh and delicious. The hotel is located in a hip area of town away from the centre but was easy walking distance to the sights and railway station. Our room did face onto the railway line but the view was leafy and the trains going by did not disturb us There is no air conditioning but there were fans which kept us cool. The yoga mat provided in the room was put to good use on the ample floor space The staff were friendly and very helpful I would highly recommend this hotel!
