great place. kitschy. quirky. fun fun fun. we didn't know what to expect but previous reviews were great and so we're glad we stayed here. Perfect

Loud Construction was happening, power was turned off in evening by PG&E no clue as to when would come back on and website did not state that Spa Services were not available for that week either. Hotel was not prepared to soothe guests or offer battery operated candles for any sort of safety. Cute place, was looking forward to an awesome local starvation wknd, instead was back in my bed by 10am wasted $275

This is a fairly nice property, updated to appeal mostly to millennials. We stayed here primarily to use the mineral water pools. We had them mostly to ourselves in the late afternoon and early morning. I don't know if they are more crowded at other times.

This place is by far my favorite place to stay. It was recently remodeled and the staff keeps it very clean. The mineral pools and hot tub are so relaxing! The motorlodge is walking distance to downtown but far enough from the traffic. They also have beach cruisers you can ride for 2hrs which is nice. Jessica in the front lobby was so welcoming my last two visits. She is knowledgeable about the area and genuinely a nice person. Coming from Silicon Valley, I appreciate a welcoming smile :). I plan to visit again soon.

Cute, clean, fun. Super comfortable bed. Walls a little thin. But mostly we had a quiet, comfortable stay and loved the style and the location.

i didn't realize it was in the beginning phase of remodeling however it was close to downtown and we could walk to all restaurants.

Second trip to Calistoga and I chose the sunburst again! Super clean and cozy with great hot spring pool & spa. Walking distance to downtown and spas. Within minutes of great wineries. The pricing is fantastic for the quality. I guess the only downside is no in room microwave but their nice lobby has one. Overall a great place to call home while in town.

Really enjoyed this hotel. The king room was very spacious and comfortable. The room was very clean and we felt relaxed there. The hotel is near the Silverado trail and is close to a few wineries in Calistoga. The staff was also very kind. We felt it was a great value hotel.

I really liked this hotel... good value for the valley, quirky, clean, has nice mineral pools... biggest drawback (for us) is that it's quite a bit north in the valley so its a ways from many of the better restaurants, etc.

Location was about a quarter mile from the main strip of stores and restaurants in Calistoga (not too far, but secluded enough). Easy walking in. Great wineries located within 5 miles of the hotel, and the Calistoga Shuttle is excellent for getting around. Vouchers for a quick breakfast bite at the Roastery was a nice surprise. Staff was very friendly, and lobby had crisp apples, starbust candies, and coffee. Rooms were decent and what you would expect from a 3 star hotel - carpet was a bit stale/dated, and room felt a little damp. The air conditioner worked, but it wasn't the best at getting cool air throughout the room. Bathroom was cute, but shower was awkward. It is a rain shower, but pressure was not very good. Amenities in the bathroom were great (full size bottles for use, instead of the dinky 1oz shampoo etc). The pool was great to have, but it was not very clean considering it was summer and was being used by guests. The hot tub is excellent - partially indoor, large enough to not be awkward if others are there. Considering we were there during harvest season, felt the price was a great value for what we got.

Dear Anonymous, I completely understand how a power outage could ruin a well-planned vacation. PG&E gave us only a few hours' notice that they would be shutting off electricity and then left us in the dark (literally - haha) regarding when it would come back on. I'm very sorry this affected your stay. Please feel free to contact me at the hotel if you'd like to discuss any further. Best regards, Ric P. General Manager

Wow, "favorite" is high praise! Thank you! And, I really appreciate that you had such a great experience with Jessica. To me, that's really what makes a great hotel - making a connection with friendly, authentic people. I hope to meet you on your next visit. Thank you, Ric

Thank you for your stay and review. We've completed the renovation of rooms, pool and opened the fabulous MoonAcre Spa (you've got to check it out!) Next year we'll have a fantastic new restaurant with kick-back beer garden and wood-fired pizzas! Hope to see then! Thank you, Ric
