Outdoor patio dining on a clear warm night with live entertainment and delicious food topped off our trip. Our server was very attentive, the food was top notch and plentiful. Perfect ending to our vaca
Emblematic and quiet hotel north of Napa, in the center of the village, approximately 20 comfortable rooms with shared bathrooms, very clean, good service by the staff.Cold continental breakfast included, you can enjoy different beers made in the same hotel. Good experience.
Having read so many reviews, I will try to provide an update that may assist future guests. Yes, the bathroom is down the hall, but we were fine with that set-up. They were updated and the shower was great, with bath mats, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The cleaning crew is top notch - everything was spotless and fresh. We came for the “Wine Camp” experience, and found Room #12 to be quiet. The lack of electronics (TV) encouraged us to meet people, including the pleasant owner and general manager. Calistoga is a lovely town with great wineries nearby, so we explored there, St. Helena, and Yountville. Our room was fine for November because there is a good heating system. Given the historic building, I would recommend they install a Mitsubishi split-pack system for AC & heat. Breakfast came with the room, and the Continental offerings were fine. Coffee & juice were excellent. We used all of their coupons - 20% off food (which was just incredible), free beer tasting (delicious), and a free wine tasting at August Briggs across the street (which yielded some very good wines). I would add that we had soap in our room, all of the plumbing fixtures were high end, and everything was freshly painted. Yes, we would stay there again, such as in the fall or spring, especially since they keep making improvements and are in a prime location.
We had already mad reservations for dinner elsewhere so only had drinks here but can say we thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the pretty gardens in the evening. Can't comment on food as we didn't get a chance to try it.
lovely little place with friendly staff. only stayed one night but could easily have stayed a couple more. if your expecting luxury then this is not for you. it is clean and does exactly what it says on the web site. will stay there again if we ever travel tat way again.
Love this place! Went back a second time for late dinner. Outside seating by a creek, trees and many small lights. White linen, fine wines & a guitarist playing classic Spanish. Fresh menu delightful and seasonal choices.
If you would like to stay in a hotel to" unwind", then this is not the place for you. This hotel has old charm and a great location. However, our room was very small with shared shower and toilet located off the hallway just like what you would see in a hostel. There was no fridge, coffee maker, TV, iron, nor hair dryer in the room. I was told that the hair dryer was available "upon request" from the reception, but because there is no elevator, it would be inconvenient to run down the hallway with wet hair to the reception. We travel a lot and have stayed in all classes of hotels/motels, but I never had a room without a TV. The bed was very pretty with beautiful linen, but it came with a big, red, hideous outdoor chair that did not match the "cottage style" of the bed. There is a very nice sink in the room, but there was no soap. I had no soap with me because even the cheapest motel provides soap to their guests. There was soap available in the shared bathroom, but none in the room. Here is a tip for the hotel owner, at "Dollar Tree they selling bottles of liquid soap for only $1.00!!! The free breakfast in the restaurant was skimpy, but ok. The dinner and service in the restaurant was excellent and we had some coupons to use in the restaurant. Luckily we were using "Groupon", otherwise it would have been way overpriced.
We were very happy at comfort Inn, super clean and private place. We really enjoyed, Kelly was a sweet wonderful lady she was very helpful. Wel will come back again, I'll definitely recommend comfort Inn!!
This review is specifically for the Inn, not the restaurant (which was wonderful). We were really hoping to like this place, it had so much potential despite the shared bathroom situation. Sadly , I was very disappointed. We were placed in room 11, which we quickly came to discover, was right above the bar kitchen. The walls and floors transmit every single sound and the banging of pots, plans, and even their conversations radiated up into the room keeping us up well past 1am. The bed itself felt like it was as old and historic as the hotel and was horribly uncomfortable. The shower had someone else's hair all over it and the body wash was was empty, of course which I didn't discover until I was soaking wet in the shower. The towels were like rubbing sand paper on yourself. Honestly, I would have felt ok paying $50 for this room but for the price they charge it's absolutely not worth it. Also, beware that it's street parking only and very limited.
Good price on basic room, with in-room sink and bathroom and shower down the hall. Good heating and room fan, very comfortable mattress, very clean, friendly staff. Impressive breakfast spread in the dining room included with stay. Affordable accommodations at peak times.
