The Fairmont Palliser

The hotel was very nice. Checking in is difficult on a busy event night. Had to loop the block in order to get a spot to pull over and unload. Staff was great!

Great location. Many things to do. Only complaint was difficult access for valet parking during business hours.

Rooms were spacious and comfortable, nicely appointed. The staff was outstanding in all areas. I felt very much at home in the Palliset.

My wife broke her leg the day before and they upgraded us to a signature room complimentary. Room service and hotel staff were excellent.

I could easily walk to all my meetings and local restaurants. The Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very quiet and clean.

Returning from Banff, we opted to spend 1 night in Calgary at the Fairmont Pallisser, one of the Canadian Pacific historic hotels. Sure glad we did! Beautiful hotel, impeccably maintained, cordial and gracious staff, great location downtown adjacent to the tower, the train station, a large shopping mall, auditoria, museums, and a pedestrian mall with numerous eclectic shops. Room was ready early, and they offered a free upgrade! On-site restaurants were pricy we ate at the Rimrock, which was inconsistent: great cocktails, salad, and side dishes (a la carte), but my wife's filet mignon was undercooked and tough, and my pork tenderloin was dry and tough, and the pork ribs included with this dish hinted of freezer burn. Stay at the hotel, go to the bar, but find other options for dinner in the neighborhood.

If you are interested in a distinctive hotel in the heart of Calgary for a special trip, then the Fairmont Palliser is for you. Comfortable luxury is the name of the game here. You won't be disappointed.

The hotel is the most elegant of those that I have encountered. I would recommend I to anyone for business or pleasure.

The room was so comfortable and very pristine....lots of space for luggage and lounging. Love the toiletries as well...they use Rose 31 which is just fab. the bed was so comfortable. I want to stay at fairmont every time now.

Beautiful room, great service and great location. Walk to everything downtown.

i went to visit a friend who lives in Calgary, the hotel location is perfect, i didn't like the fitness club , it's so gloomy and the spa is small. the beds are very comfortable! my room was small and didn't have a good view. the view was ugly. the service is good. food is good. in many previous i have taken the hotel was more of what i expect . but this one wasn't as i expected. i very much loved the fairmount at Banff. that one was amazing and i wish i stayed there. i love big hotels and if so resorts. very elegant with space and bright rooms.

shopping, hang out with friends.

Even though the hotel was very busy it was really quiet in our room. You have to pay for parking separately-pricey because you are downtown.

The Fairmont Palliser is simply stunning. This is the third hotel I've tried during my monthly trip to Calgary. I won't stay anywhere else now. The lobby is gorgeous, the rooms while a bit small were quaint and charming. The workout room was just fine with 3 treadmills, 3 ellipticals, a selection of free weights and other workout essentials. The room service menu offered a nice variety of items. My room was quiet and the bed very comfortable. There is a Starbucks within a 2 block walk along with a coffee maker in the room. Wish they didn't charge for wifi in the room however.

Great location in downtown Calgary. Close to shopping, Prince's island, restaurants etc.

A single nite weekend stay meant a saturday night on the town--downtown and close to everything-- and a great morning with a dip in a great pool/sauna/hot tub. The sunday buffet was very good @ $26. Class act hotel. Class act city.

First Class service and location ruined by smoke and trains.......that's all I have to say

Stay only two days watch tv, room service good price but small portion not so good pillows

I've stayed at a couple of hotels in Calgary - Hyatt, Westin and now the Fairmont. I would say the service ranks high up there along with the Hyatt staff...friendly & responds in a timely manner if you have any requests. I got a suite at the Fairmont and it was a nice sized room with a shower stall and a separate jacuzzi. One thing great about the Fairmont is that even though you book the room through a third party discount site like [...], your stay still counts towards their loyalty program which is free to sign up for. Sign up for Fairmont's loyalty program for free and you get free local calls and free internet ;) That's much better than the Westin Calgary for example because the Westin will not count any points for their loyalty program if you book the room through a third party website and also, you have to pay for local calls and internet at the Westin. I would say the only thing I didn't really like about this hotel was that the fitness centre was lacking (only three treadmills and the room needed some air conditioning for sure).
