I stayed here for 6 night for work s and it was very convenient. Its located right next to Cairns Central so shopping was a breeze. I stayed in an apartment with laundry facilities which made life easier. The room was good for my needs and the appliances all worked well. The pool I went in was great and the spa's also relaxing. I would recommend.
Location was excellent. Parking spacious. Room was very clean when we checked-in. Male receptionist wasn't a 'customer-friendly' staff when we checked-in. When he imposed the security bond deposit we were surprised at all as it was never mentioned on the booking condition or accommodation policies but he argued like we were so stupid! He even suggested to just cancel our booking if we are not happy with it, but since we already booked and paid for our stay, we just complied as that was a no win thing for us . Until now, we haven't got our $250 security bond deposit back yet which he assured it will be returned back as soon as we got cleared after checking out. It was supposed to be a security bond deposit as he argued but it was taken out of my credit card.
While these self-contained apartments were nice, they were not like the pictures. The staff in front-of-house were condescending to paying customers. The rooms were very average and not to the 4-star quality other review sites have given. The pool area is nice, if your room is placed near the first one, otherwise, again that was average. The on-site cafe, which was supposed to be a proper cafe, was nothing more than a breakfast buffet with toast, cereal, etc. Overall I was pretty disappointed with the experience.
Absolutely disgusted with the customer service and the way I was treated from the reception staff and manager. I had prepaid for two nights stay totalling $256 but due to severe flooding in Gordonvale I was not able to make it into town to check in on the 09/03/18. I called the motel to let them know I couldn't make it in due to the weather and I was seeking a refund. They had stated for me to call Expedia as I had booked through them, I did but Expedia told me they had to "clear" it with the motel first. I basically got the run around between the two parties . When I would call reception expressing my displeasure I got cut off by reception staff , and blatantly refused a refund. When I asked on what grounds are you refusing a refund the manager stated because room was prepaid and the had "held" my booking for me I was not entitled for a refund. I think due to the unexpected nature of the events I could have been treated more fairly. I will be seeking my monies still. I definitely do NOT recommend this horrible place to anyone!!!!!!!
Room was neat and clean Not refreshed after each day Room seemed like it was in a hole Lower down and 1 window that looked at a wall Asked for some packages of coffee and was refused Asked for a 1 page printout for Our airline tickets and was charged Just not that friendly and money hungry
Pretty average... Good room size, bad service. Staff weren't very friendly, there was problems with the bathroom, you could hear people in the next room sneeze, or use the bathroom, every word they said was clear through the walls... Wouldn't visit again.
I stayed at the Southern Cross Atrium Apartments recently when visiting clients in Cairns. The hotel was clean and presentable and the room was comfortable and contained everything that I needed. The bed was very comfortable indeed. The staff I found to be very polite, friendly and helpful. My only slightly negative feedback is there are no comfy chairs in the room. If I lay on the bed to watch tv then I’ll fall asleep and spill my wine, so it would be nice to be able to relax in a comfy chair, watch tv and have a few glasses. The chairs in the room were rattan garden chairs, the sort you would use as a dining chair, very upright and not very comfortable for long periods of time. I would recommend this hotel for business trips and short stays. It’s not a holiday hotel.
Stayed here for 2 weeks in January , studio apartment was nice and basic. Had everything you need. The WiFi is absolutely terrible , cuts out every 5 minuets. Apartments close enough to everything .these are self serviced apartments so we only had House keeping twice in the 2 weeks and only change the bed and give you fresh towels.
We stayed here over Christmas 2017 for 5 days in Unit 71 and we were so impressed with our accommodation which was clean and airy. The kitchen was fully stocked with a variety of cooking equipment and utensils. There was also a good sized laundry. Our room was on the ground floor right next to the three of the five pools that the establishment has, along with the gym. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The apartments are only about 200 metres of the main Cairns shopping mall and an easy 10 minute still to the main shopping area and esplanade. We loved this place and would thoroughly recommend it.
We stayed here for two nights recently. We were planning to stay longer but some impressions were not so good. The positives first. It's in a good location near to a big shopping centre and walking distance to restaurants. It has free wi fi and the apartments are well equipped. Downsides are the place has a small cramped reception. It's always busy and when we checked in had only one rather stern Japanese lady who was not very helpful except for asking us to pay in advance. But check in was 2pm and no earlier even though I had said we would be early, there was no flexibility. After a long overnight flight I changed clothes in a toilet and we walked out into town to get something to eat. Eventually we were able to get a room. I had asked for a quiet place not near the road. So guess what? We were given a room right on the main road next to the noisy electric gate. The road noise and gate noise was bad and even with ear plugs sleeping was difficult. We left after two nights and moved to a new location. So in conclusion it was clean and well equipped but can be noisy and the Japanese lady in reception maybe needs to learn to smile and try some customer service training.
