We stayed in this hotel for 1 week... they never changed the sheets! The rooms are really really hot! We had to sleep with a noisy air conditioning all night! People at the reception are not friendly at all!! Every time i asked for directions, they always answered: i don't know... The only positive thing is that it is located very near to downtown. We arrived there during the night, and the first thing I thought was: "we are gonna die here!"
Cons: 1) The staff left our bedroom door open after cleaning, luckily nothing was taken but there were signs saying that staff don't take any responsibility on stolen items, even though we locked our room when we left for the day 2) The shower head was completely broken to have a shower you had to use it on a very weak setting so that the water didn't just flow through the cracks. As well as this the water didn't drain properly and took about 10 mins to go down. 3) also in the bathroom there was a hole in the floor covered with a bath mat, the hole lead to exposed dirty piping which was a bit smelly 4) air con was very loud but no charge was needed to pay for it and was very good at cooling the room quickly Pros: 1) the staff were helpful and friendly at reception and answered any questions we had 2) location was really good, really close to the ruin bars like a 15 min walk, 2 min walk to a metro station connecting you to all the main attractions 3) free breakfast 4) 24 hour reception was good, Although necessary since for some reason every time we left the hotel we had to hand our keys in
We arrived at the hotel and entered the courtyard, a musty smell hits you straight away. We entered the reception area which also smelt. The staff gave us a room key and when we got to the room it had not been cleaned. When we were eventually given a room, the carpet area was extremely dirty, the drains in the bathroom stunk to high heaven, and the air conditioning unit sounded like a jumbo jet ready for take off. We could not use it overnight due to the level of noise, and we felt like we were confined to a sweat box hardly slept. Our booking was for three nights we managed one. The staff showed no concern that we had to leave, but made it clear we could not get a refund. Would not recommend this to anyone.
The hotel is very well located , bus and metro very close , basic and comfortable: prices are very good . The breakfast is good and plentiful : but please: add some sweetness!!!!!! ( Biscuit, pies, snacks, Nutella....)
Bathroom was unnecesssarily large. No toiletries. Basic breakfast, no fresh veggies or fruit or pastries. The portable A/C in the room was too loud. The sign that the hotel could not guarantee the safety of the valuables left in the room was distressing but they had small individual safety locks as well as a big shared one (for laptops etc) at the reception. Welcoming and friendly staff. Good location, close to metro. Good price.
we were staying for two weeks here. We arrange 12 rooms for 32 people. The weather was hot so it was very nice that the hotel has air conditioner. But for 2 weeks Ive stayed, only 3x they fold my duvet and never changed my bed sheet (although Ive requested). The room was mostly uncleaned but they empty the bins. As mostly in the evening we had a meeting, the interney were very poor so then we need to find other room outside the hotel
This is a basic but budget hotel and you get good value for money. There is air con in the room and a TV. The shower room was a good size, But my only real cristicm is the lack of soap in the bathroom. The doors were a little difficult to lock and the place a little tired but it certainly is better value than what other reviews have made it out to be. Breakfast was simple but good- with cold and hot drinks and was enough to set us up for the day. Would stay here again if I came to Budapest due to location and simplicity.
I liked this hotel because it was a traditional building rather than a posh and clean hotel that feels like you could be anywhere. Ok it's not perfect but when you are paying so little what can you expect. Our beds were comfortable. We had an air conditioning unit in our room which worked very well. We also had a mini fridge and plenty of storage space. Our rooms was clean and fresh white towels were provided. The bathroom was perfectly adequate, it was clean and the shower had hot water (the water pressure was a little temperamental) Breakfast was a small selection of hot foods eg egg, sausage. Fresh bread to make toast with butter, jam or marmalade. Tea and coffee machine, juice and water. Have breakfast as you will need your energy for sightseeing. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They are happy to help with recommendations, directions and booking tickets. The hotel is close to the metro, although there is also plenty to do within walking distance too. Just explore! Great location and I would happily stay here again.
We admittedly didn't pay much for this hotel but we got back even less! The location is good, the Reception staff are helpful but everything else is really of the poorest quality and taste. Plastic flowers and vines everywhere. Really basic breakfast with no fruit, veggies, baked goods (except sliced bread). Coffee came from an instant machine and was undrinkable. The room was spacious but seemed dirty (stained mattresses, soiled carpet, grimy balcony). In all, we should have spent a few euros more and stayed in one of the many other decent hotels in the area.
Just about 100m from nearest metro station. Friendly staff and buffet breakfast good enough for dinner time. Small clean room but quiet and bathroom with hairdryer. I like it and I can stay next time in Budapest.
