I wouldn't choose this HOSTEL anymore. We made a huge mistake!!!! Room smells , tv old + no English channels. Everything is old and cheap. Highly overpriced!!!! No hot water for shower. The room is too hot. Outside is too noise. There is not even one positive things about this place. Never come back again!
We knew this was a low budget stay for our 3 nights in Budapest when we booked . We got clean sheets and a comfortable bed. But we also got (In room 501) A temperature in excess of 35 Degrees on entering the room Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling Variable shower water temp dependant on the time of day Smelling floor drain in the bathroom, Shower door off its runners. No internet connection & some lies about its repair at reception Reception girl made some attempt resolving problems but clearly has no backup
I did not think it would be so bad, it's the worst hotel I've stayed in my life, dirty, ordinary, no household items in the rooms, it looks like a dirty old hostel. Would not recommend this hotel, get away from that place. there's even dogs barking inside the hotel. Dirty
The location is very near to Vorosmarty tube station, so easy access on M1 tube to the centre. There was a lovely park opposite hotel, which is clean and well kept. The hotel room on the 4th floor was large and had clean bedding, a nice bathing and a balcony view of the park. There was a good choice for breakfast, although sone fruit would be good. The look of the hotel is a little dated and needs a refresh of paint, holes and marks on walls in room need filling. The lift is small and can be very busy at times.
When we first arrived it was a bit weird. The entrance its a closed wood door and we have to ring a bell every time we want to get in.. The receptionists are nice. The WiFi was good, only on the last day we couldn't connect with it for at least one hour. The room and bathroom are nice, small but for 2 people its enough. The water of the shower wasn't very hot or strong enough. And the top of the wall and a fan on the wall were full of dust that everyone could clearly see but housekeeping never clean it. Towels were only changed once, witch its fine by us if we had two towels per person, but no, there's only one towel per person that we had to use for body, face, hair and hands. It was a hairdryer and tv with no english channel's. Overall its good enough for the paid price.
I am currently staying at Silver hotel for 3 nights. I am looking to book another hotel and move out of this gothic horrible place. The hotel is extremely dirty, its an old building which used to be living flats turned to a hotel. The first night i came in I found a black massive cockroach and the bed sheets were miserable and very dirty. The toilet was smelly and shower was licking. All these were reported to the recepsion and the staff seemed to be very uninterested on these issue. There were other people complaining at the reception for many different issues. Met a German guy on the lift swearing and complaining as well. there are people saying that its a good location, but to be honest its worth the money to stay in a place bit further then the centre rather then staying at this jungle. I asked to speak to the manager and it seems that the guy was invisible and never came by to the hotel.
this place is for whoever looks for cheap place to stay. i had comftarble bed, hot water and that's all i needed. i've been out from morning till late night so just needed a place to sleep. if you are looking more things- that's not the place.
This hotel is a great price. The room and bathroom were clean. The room had a fridge also. The room had a good heater which was good as during February it can get very cold. Easily to get to on public transport as the metro is only 5mins from the hotel. There is a small super market and bar/restaurant near hotel The breakfast in the morning had a good range and was nice. The staff provided us with tips and good places to eat and drink in the city centre and what to see and do.
The rooms are nothing like the pictures. The wifi doesn't work, the tv doesn't work, the tea machine downstairs doesn't work so we got told to go shop down road. The safe In the room doesn't work. Nothing in the mini bar. The bathroom smells of drains. The shower plug was all blocked from someone previous hair where cleaners haven't cleaned it properly and it floods the shower and over flows. It is so noisy you can hear everything people going toilet, having shower, drying hair all night long. The breakfast was awful nothing savoury or sweet. No yoghurts no fruit either toast or cereal. The rooms all out dated need replenishing. The cleaners don't change your sheets the whole time your there. I wouldn't recommend this hotel it definitely not a 3 star. The paints all chipping off the floors. There dust everywhere and there no kettle or bottle of water in the room and no breakfast tea provided at breakfast and hot chocolate machine doesn't work.
Me and my boyfriend stayed here while out in Budapest for 4 nights for my birthday. If you're looking for a great location and a place to lay your head in the evening after a long day of sightseeing then this is for you. If you want luxury then perhaps not. The room was spacious, clean and our towels were replaced every day and our beds were made too. What more do you need really? The bathroom was spacious and the shower was powerful. A couple of slight irritations included the fact that although we paid for a double room, what you actually get is 2 single beds pushed together. While this annoyed us at first, we were pleasantly suprised that the beds were comfy, the pillows were amazing and we actually both slept better because noone was blanket/bed hogging! Another thing that wasn't great was while we were there the lift broke down leaving us having to climb 6 flights of stairs - good news is that we only had to do this once as it was fixed very quickly. We also would have loved having a kettle in our room as we both love a hot drink in the morning especially before a long day of walking around the city. Finally, it's a pretty decent hotel for the money paid and what we needed it for. Once you get over how it looks (as some areas do look rather run down) the room itself was very good.
