I do not really write poor reviews of places but i could not find one redeeming feature in this hotel. We booked this hotel on the advice of our trzvel agent, that will never happen again. We had booked for 4 nights but were out of it after 1 night. Our room was on the fourth floor of this supposedly non-smoking hotel, with the afternoon sun shining straight in through the window. No air-con, no fan. The room was sweltering. What breeze there was decide to give our window a bypass. Our fridge was underneath the antiquated television. So what you might say? To access it you had to be on your knees or sitting on the floor. Non-smoking hotel was laughable. People had tables and chairs on the walkways, puffing away. The 6th floor dinning room allowed people to sit outside on the walkway an smoke, directly under the open dinning room windows. At night you would think the hotel had been taken over by lager louts, it was so noisy. And to top it off I'm sure someone launched a chair into the courtyard in the early hours of the morning just to add to our misery. AVOID!!!!!
A central hotel in Budapest but quite modest, with great cleaning problems in the room. The kitchen smell enters the rooms, it was not intimate, the other guests could look into our room. The outside of the hotel was dirty and dark.
After reading reviews prior to staying at the Silver Hotel with friends I was exceptionally apprehensive but I need not have been. We stayed in a large room for 4 of us. We found it clean, comfortable, and more than adequate, no not 5* but exceptional value. The reception staff were welcoming and informative, welcomed us with a smile and our key waiting for us. Andrea and Essam guiding us through the bars spas and trams. Yes it was dated but in a great location, the breakfast was fresh, would I return.....yes definitely, I travel often, use budget hotels to enable me to experience different parts of Europe and silver hotel fitted the bill.
the hotel is medium same like prices, in the room is very hot , the hotel is old , the location is near the center, the breakfast was poor. There is not even one positive things about this place. Never come back again
I wouldn't choose this HOSTEL anymore. We made a huge mistake!!!! Room smells , tv old + no English channels. Everything is old and cheap. Highly overpriced!!!! No hot water for shower. The room is too hot. Outside is too noise. There is not even one positive things about this place. Never come back again!
We knew this was a low budget stay for our 3 nights in Budapest when we booked . We got clean sheets and a comfortable bed. But we also got (In room 501) A temperature in excess of 35 Degrees on entering the room Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling Variable shower water temp dependant on the time of day Smelling floor drain in the bathroom, Shower door off its runners. No internet connection & some lies about its repair at reception Reception girl made some attempt resolving problems but clearly has no backup
I did not think it would be so bad, it's the worst hotel I've stayed in my life, dirty, ordinary, no household items in the rooms, it looks like a dirty old hostel. Would not recommend this hotel, get away from that place. there's even dogs barking inside the hotel. Dirty
The location is very near to Vorosmarty tube station, so easy access on M1 tube to the centre. There was a lovely park opposite hotel, which is clean and well kept. The hotel room on the 4th floor was large and had clean bedding, a nice bathing and a balcony view of the park. There was a good choice for breakfast, although sone fruit would be good. The look of the hotel is a little dated and needs a refresh of paint, holes and marks on walls in room need filling. The lift is small and can be very busy at times.
When we first arrived it was a bit weird. The entrance its a closed wood door and we have to ring a bell every time we want to get in.. The receptionists are nice. The WiFi was good, only on the last day we couldn't connect with it for at least one hour. The room and bathroom are nice, small but for 2 people its enough. The water of the shower wasn't very hot or strong enough. And the top of the wall and a fan on the wall were full of dust that everyone could clearly see but housekeeping never clean it. Towels were only changed once, witch its fine by us if we had two towels per person, but no, there's only one towel per person that we had to use for body, face, hair and hands. It was a hairdryer and tv with no english channel's. Overall its good enough for the paid price.
I am currently staying at Silver hotel for 3 nights. I am looking to book another hotel and move out of this gothic horrible place. The hotel is extremely dirty, its an old building which used to be living flats turned to a hotel. The first night i came in I found a black massive cockroach and the bed sheets were miserable and very dirty. The toilet was smelly and shower was licking. All these were reported to the recepsion and the staff seemed to be very uninterested on these issue. There were other people complaining at the reception for many different issues. Met a German guy on the lift swearing and complaining as well. there are people saying that its a good location, but to be honest its worth the money to stay in a place bit further then the centre rather then staying at this jungle. I asked to speak to the manager and it seems that the guy was invisible and never came by to the hotel.
