ibis Budapest Heroes Square3.0 out of 5.0

This hotel located nearby some Tourist attractions especially to Heroes square, of course :). The room size is bigger than usual Ibis in Europe and we had the room in the corner facing directly to the square..so nothing to complain about. The breakfast selections were great and staff were helpful and speak english fluently. We were trying to find dinner outside hotel but there's not much options within walking distance. Wifi speed was good and there were good entertainment english speaking TV programs which was hard to find in Europe, so a plus point for me. Overall, great stay in this beautiful city of Budapest.
Stayed here for three nights. The location was terrific, close to the metro and the bus stop, walking distance to a couple of good restaurants and Heroes Square. From the hotel it was so easy to get anywhere we wanted to go. There is a small grocery 1 block away where you can find bottled water, wine, snacks, etc. The front desk staff were very helpful and polite, no problems there at all. Breakfast buffet offered good coffee, juices, breads, hard boiled eggs, assorted cold meats and cheeses, fruit. The hotel has the feel of a hostel. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable but amenities were sparse: 2 thin bath towels and a mat, combo soap/shampoo dispenser, weak hairdryer. There was a space of about 18inches or less between the toilet and the wall in front of the toilet which was barely enough room for me (5ft 3in tall). My husband is 6ft tall and had to sit almost sideways. So if you pick a hotel for location this is a good choice but don’t expect much in the way of extras. Fortunately we weren’t in the room much.
the staff was very kind, and everything was excellent, the position of the hotel is great, the breakfast was good. We intend to return there every time we will have to visit Budapest. I reccomend this hotel !
We stayed at this hotel as part of a Gate1 Tour package. The hotel is quite lovely overall, simple but clean with more space than I normally expect from a European bunch hotel. I slept in but my husband went to breakfast and said quality and choices were very good. Wi-Fi was average but in fact better than the Wi-Fi we had in Prague so I appreciated it after the fact. The location was not the best but taking the metro or an inexpensive taxi will quickly get you to the city center. Walking distance is Heroes square and also the castle -both of which are worth stopping by. Recommend both Bar9 and Budapest Baristas for coffee.
Air conditioning wasn't working properly, I had to keep windows open overnight. It coused noise coming from very busy street. Very good breakfast . Close to metro station 4 stops to the city's center .
The hotel is nice and the staff is very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are comfortable. Only give 4 stars for 1) no hot water kettle in room (plenty of hot water for tea in restaurant and 2) air conditioning turned off for season while still very warm at night. Very convenient to marathon starting about 5 min walk. Access to shopping and restaurants an easy and enjoyable 20 min walk or about 7 min on subway located about 50m from front door. Overall a very good value and would stay here again
Fantastic hotel in a great position. Just a short stroll to Heroes Square, Spa, Metro station and other public transport. Yes it is out of the centre, but perfect for exploring. Clean and modern - lovely comfortable bed. Snacks available anytime and very friendly staff. Corner shop nearby well stocked and restaurants in the area (didn't try them though).
Nice, mid range hotel situated in a good area and close to transport links. Rooms were bright, clean and the beds comfortable. The staff were really helpful to us, David in particular lent me a charger for a few days. The metro is only a five minute walk on Andrasy St that drops you to the centre of the city in a few minutes. Would definitely recommend to visitors on the area.
Nice spacious rooms, lovely descreet decoration, no mini bar thaugh, but one big big disatvantage of this hotel: dirty bathtubs. Cosy room, nice bed, not so comfortable. Nice pillows. Parking is charged. Non smoking hotel. Polite personell.
We had a great stay at the Ibis on Heroes square. It is exactly what you need for a city break. Great location, friendly and efficient staff, clean comfortable modern rooms, and it is reasonably priced. For a large hotel the rooms are quiet and you are unaware of other guests. There is a well stocked bar, with comfortable entertaining area, snacks and food are available, as is breakfast at an additional cost. Perfectly positoned to make the most of the Thermal baths, Heroes square and the centre of the city. We had a fabulous time, thank you.
