I don't have one negative thing to say about this property

Loved it. My husband and I stayed there for a conference and we could not have asked for a more comfortable, charming, tastefully decorated hotel. Food was awesome and the service excellent. We loved the food and drinks at the executive bar/lounge - we reenergized ourselves there countless times.

Great location with excellent spa amenities and treatments. Friendly and helpful staff.

Fabulous hotel, delicious food, amazing facilities professional polite friendly staff. This will be my go to hotel in Budapest from now on.

Incredible hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is an indoor pool very similar to a Turkish bath style in the spa of the hotel. The pool, Jacuzzis, steam rooms and saunas are all included with the stay. The hotel is very close to the Oktogon metro station and some good local restaurants.

I was there on my birthday and the hotel arranged complimentary champagne in my room.

Wonderful historic hotel with warm staff that exceeded expectations!

The hotel is grand at first glance. It is also enormous. It probably has had an illustrious past, given the list of names of famous people who have stayed there. And though our room was lovely, our stay there was not. The shower was clogged and wouldn't drain so we couldn't take showers. When we called the front desk they were slow in responding, not coming until the following day. They didn't show up on time that morning and we had to take showers so we switched rooms. Also the provided robe had stains on the cuffs, the wake up call button on the phone didn't work and there were water stains on the desk. Most disappointing was the poor service. The staff at the front desk were cold and impersonal and didn't seem to care that we were inconvenienced by not being able to shower. In fact, they initially would not move us, saying that were booked to capacity. Did they really expect us to stay in a room without a working shower? Amazing how a room opened up when we insisted on having a shower.

Immaculate hotel with a friendly and attentive staff. The main staircase surrounded by marble is fit for a castle. Food in the Bistro and Atrium were excellent. The immediate neighborhood could use beautification. 7 blocks from New York Cafe. World class hotel.

beautiful place which retained its old charm and acquired conveniences of 21st century

We stayed three nights after a river cruise. The hotel is magnificent--beautiful lobby, wide staircase and halls, lovely lounge area with music in the evening. The hotel's restaurants are very good and reasonably priced given today's exchange rates. The staff is excellent. The hotel has a classic spa for guests to use with a swimming pool, two whirlpools, sauna, steam room and lounging areas. The rooms are nicely appointed with high ceilings and beautifully appointed bathrooms. My only complaint was the hardness of the mattress but other may like a firm bed. Its location is in central Pest with shopping and restaurants nearby. We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is truly a gem, with a breathtaking lobby and unbelievable underground pool and spa. Rooms are quite nice, and are comfortable and spacious at the levels you would expect for this caliber of hotel. Most services were great, especially the lobby bar. Great staff and great drinks. The check in staff were helpful as well. The only two drawbacks are that the location is a bit of a walk from the waterfront, and some off recommendations on the particulars of time required to depart the city by train. The former is very minor, as there are other cool spots nearby. The latter was more of an issue, as we nearly didn't make the train to Vienna. Those points aside, this is a quite near perfect gem that stands out in this interesting city.

Beautiful hotel - convenient location - helpful staff - able to buy tickets to hop on hop off bus and baths at the hotel - exceeded my expectations.

One cannot stay in this wonderful hotel without thinking of "Budapest Hotel" movie. It is a dream coming through when one consider the overall ambiance. The spa facility and services are excellent. The concierge is best in class : They found for us 2 tickets at the marvelous Budapest Opera on Jan 3,2015 when everybody else said that the show was sold out !

This hotel is beautiful and very well located near 2 subway lines and across the street from a tram stop. The common areas are very pretty. The rooms are more average. Our room on the 4th floor was a bit hot. We had to open the windows on the courtyard to cool it off. This would let in the noise from the courtyard. The lighting in the room wasn't very good and it could have used a lot more outlets. We had to unplug lights to charge our phones. There was no where to plug in a flat iron either. But the price was great for the location and beauty.

not so special to be a 5 star hotel .but considering the price i would really recommend

They gave us a nice upgrade to an apartment. It was very nice

Great value, you usually cannot get a 5-star hotel for this price. Beautiful facilities. Location was a little bit north of the river, and away from the majority of the 5-star hotels that are right by the river. A little further away from the major tourist areas (15-20 minute walk, so be careful if this is where you'll be spending most of your time), but close to the trendy Jewish quarter (where the ruin pubs are located). Service was good, albeit a little inconsistent. Not what I would have expected from a 5-star hotel. Concierge, at times, did not seem very willing to help. However, bell service and front desk were generally pretty good. Did not use the spa services, but the swimming pool looked beautiful. Overall, I would stay here if you don't mind walking a little further to the river, and are looking for a beautiful hotel with good value.

Excellent hotel. Had a lovely stay from start to finish. I highly recommend you book room on executive level, a little more price to pay for a whole lot of benefit. Hotel staff very courteous and room luxurious. Loved the swimming pool and used it daily. Only improvement I would recommend is their massages were not good and they shorted us on time then proceeded to debate what I had paid for. I needed to show them my receipt to validate this, all too much hassle for what was to be a relaxing experience and quality of massage that of what a child would deliver. But hotel itself excellent and would come again.

Lovely hotel, impeccably restored. Staff very friendly and helpful. Always called me by name. Only disapointment was not being able to arrange a late checkout. Spa services, while not a bargain, were excellent also. Perfect location, walking distance to many places.
