My boyfriend surprised me with a stay in this hotel for my birthday, and it was stunning. The rooms aren't decorated lavishly but we had everything we could possibly need, our room in particular was rather roomy and the air con was a welcome extra during the 33 degree heat! Our room was located off a small private courtyard shared with another 2 - 3 rooms, I enjoyed a glass of wine in the warm evenings, relaxing before the night out ahead. On more than one occasion we ventured to the small bar located in the hotel where I tried the local liquor, and the member of staff was really friendly and we had some lovely conversations with. The center is about 25 minute walk, but if the weather is nice I would advise walking and not getting a taxi. The architecture is stunning and you really get a chance to explore the city before you have really got to the hustle and bustle of the center. I would love to stay here again!
We stayed here for 3 nights with our family. This hotel is located on a quiet street in an upcoming neighborhood. It is a 15 minute walk to the city center. The subway and the tram are just a couple of minutes away. The hotel is located in an old town house. Rooms are good but not too big. Breakfast is good but nothing special. Staff is very kind and helpfull. The price of this hotel is very good. I definitely recommend this place!
We found this hotel via booking.com, and it was great. Breakfast was 6€, howeber we decided to go outside to have it since two bloks away there were two very cozy cafes. The room were of a considerable size, and we were three. I recomend the rooms of the patio. Big thanks yo the staff they were great.
I don't want to be too harsh about this hotel because the staff were OK. The room we stayed in however, room 9, was way too small. I'm quite a big guy but even my wife struggled for space and she is normal sized. The furnishing is adequate but the shower head moves about if the water pressure is on higher than average and consequently, the shower floor was covered in water. I didn't get much sleep either as the room's window is right next to Maria street and any cars or party goers woke me up. Breakfast is continental and isn't included in the price. It costs 1850 Forints and in my opinion, is not worth it. I went down, it wasn't busy but there were about 3 tables that still had rubbish from previous guests. I wanted water to drink and there was only one glass available. It was dirty. I didn't make a fuss, I grabbed a mug. It too was dirty, it had coffee residue in it. I finally grabbed a second mug and drank water out of that. No scrambled eggs, just cold boiled eggs, some ham and some cheese isn't really worth it. I've had better, MUCH better, and that was included in the price of the room. When I got back upstairs, I told the gentleman at reception how I felt about the whole thing but he just nodded, no apology and took my cash. They were kind enough to hold on to our luggage at no extra charge while we went to the museum on our last day but I can't see myself returning there. Too many things irked me, and I'm not fussy at all, I just want good food, a good sized room and a shower that doesn't spray water everywhere when I try to get clean in the morning.
Staff at reception very friendly and help out with our questions on getting about town etc. Even gave us free tea or coffee in the morning which is good if you'd like to then get breakfast in nearby cafe. Around 25 minute walk to Danube and main attractions but interesting sights and cafes en route. Located next to metro station so handy for getting to Margaret Island, Gellert Baths, City Park etc. Pictures make the hotel look a bit more luxurious than it really is. Expect travel lodge comfort and decor but for a city break its all we wanted as only in room to sleep.
Stayed in this hotel on Maria Utca which was a lovely quiet street just under a mile or so from the main hustle and bustle of Budapest life. Very conveniently located however and quite easy to find once you found your bearings around Budapest. One thing I found which was excellent was the security. There is a huge wooden door which you can only open via a magnetic fob handed to you at check in before walking up a few steps to reception at the top. Was wonderfully greeted upon check in and although there was a slight hiccup on the first night, we were dealt with really efficiently and quickly to solve the problem. The room was an ok size (in Budapest for the city not the hotel room) and was overlooking a lovely central courtyard with garden with again being able to lock your own room or leave things in the safe without having to worry. Reception were always available to give very useful tips and information on everything where needed and would certainly consider returning here again!
Good location. Easy to reach the nightlife by foot and central Budapest can be reached by using the subway. We got great service from the 24 hours reception. They gave us some advice regarding places to go and transportation to the airport. Clean room with a good air condition (was 34-38 degrees celsius during our stay so AC was really important). The breakfast for €6 was ok but nothing more (Go to some breakfast restaurant instead if you want something great and feel like you have energy in the morning).
Stayed for 3 nights & the room was small but clean, pity it never had any tea/coffee making facilities as I enjoy a cuppa first thing in the morning..nowadays this is standard in rooms. Only had the breakfast one morning, which finished at 10am & we arrived at 0950 which did not please the lady who was working there..no smile or a good morning, it was obvious she was annoyed that we had arrived 10 minutes before the breakfast time ended..excuse us for wanting a cup of tea & a bowl of cereal..it's not as if she had to cook for us..so that was it, next morning it was off to McD's. The hotel was ok where it was situated, as it was quiet however next time I will pick a hotel slightly closer to the centre, with tea making facilities & hopefully a smiling waitress..!!
Brilliant hotel close to metro and lovely bars and cafes. It's a set back from the main tourist bit so it's nice and quiet, lovely square nearby with Bars cafes etc but 20min walk or few stops on the metro Nice rooms, very clean with helpful staff.i would stay again, for the price it's perfect
The location is very good but the layout of the rooms are not ideal, at least for summer time. It had only one window right to the hallway where every other guest walks by, at waist to shoulder height, so if you open it everyone can hear and see what's happening inside if they want. No a/c so it can be hot on the summer. The staff is friendly and helpful.
