Had a 20 hour layover in Budapest so just wanted something that was no thrills, easy to get to from the airport, and close enough to walk for a beer and food in town. This was perfect for that. The hotel offered transfers at 26 euros each way, but as i was only staying one night, the price for both ways would have doubled my accommodation cost! If you don't have lot of luggage, get the 100E bus from the airport for 900 forint (3 euros). Right outside the terminal, 30 min ride and then a 5/10 minute walk - easy. Hotel was great for the price - clean, no noise issues, and staff were friendly. Left very early morning so didn't try the breakfast. Would definitely stay again for a short trip.
It's a very good hotel, near to the center of the town only 10 minutes with feet.Friendly stuff. Ben gave us all the information tha we need about the monuments, the bars and restaurants . Is near to all the public transportation. Also is not an expensive hotel. I recommend it!!!
The hotel is very well placed, 10 min walk from the center and close to public transport. Rooms are clean. The single thing is that the walls are very thick and you hear your neighboors intercourse. Otherwise stuff was nice and not expensive.
Visited this amazing city with my girlfriend and two friend and the city offered all amazing attractions! The hotel was lovely too, helped in anyway they could just could have been a little closer to the centre even though it was only a 10-15 walk but in heels is a different story! Once in the centre there is countless places to eat, drink and visit... they offer a bus tour which is amazing, you can get a 24, 48 or 72 hour ticket which you can hope on hope off tour around the city with amazing building and statues to see, all was amazing pieces of art. Would like to thank the staff at Central Hotel 21 and the everyone else to made are short stay one to remember!
We - a family of 3, stayed here for three nights. Was quite concerned about location before arriving but this hotel is definitely central. Lots of bars and eating places around and if you walk for 2 minutes you're on the main road with all the tram and bus lines you need. The only transport we had to use to get around during the day was the tour bus but that's because we wanted to see all the sights. We walked everywhere at night. We had a room for 4, it was a huge. Included in the price was air-con and a safe. Clearly we used the heating section of the air con! Beds were changed and made every day. Staff were very helpful and friendly, giving us tips about bus tours and booking transport to and from the airport for us. There is a small bar and breakfast available as well as free tea and coffee at the reception. Hotel is in a quiet safe street and entry into the hotel is very secure. If I was ever visiting Budapest I would definitely stay here.
As I've said on my 2 previous reviews, the staff are great. Friendly, welcoming and helpful. My room was nice but hadn't been updated at all in the 3 times I've stayed in it over 4 years. In particular the TV is rubbish. Cheap quality TV with poor quality sound and picture and only one English speaking channel and that is not very good. The WiFi is a bit hit and miss just like 4 years ago.... not good enough for 2017. They need to do these few upgrades and I'm sure people would happily play an extra 10 euros per night as, fundamentally, it's a lovely little hotel in a great location. Last point..... you need to have English breakfast tea among all those fruit teas ☺️
My boyfriend surprised me with a stay in this hotel for my birthday, and it was stunning. The rooms aren't decorated lavishly but we had everything we could possibly need, our room in particular was rather roomy and the air con was a welcome extra during the 33 degree heat! Our room was located off a small private courtyard shared with another 2 - 3 rooms, I enjoyed a glass of wine in the warm evenings, relaxing before the night out ahead. On more than one occasion we ventured to the small bar located in the hotel where I tried the local liquor, and the member of staff was really friendly and we had some lovely conversations with. The center is about 25 minute walk, but if the weather is nice I would advise walking and not getting a taxi. The architecture is stunning and you really get a chance to explore the city before you have really got to the hustle and bustle of the center. I would love to stay here again!
We stayed here for 3 nights with our family. This hotel is located on a quiet street in an upcoming neighborhood. It is a 15 minute walk to the city center. The subway and the tram are just a couple of minutes away. The hotel is located in an old town house. Rooms are good but not too big. Breakfast is good but nothing special. Staff is very kind and helpfull. The price of this hotel is very good. I definitely recommend this place!
We found this hotel via booking.com, and it was great. Breakfast was 6€, howeber we decided to go outside to have it since two bloks away there were two very cozy cafes. The room were of a considerable size, and we were three. I recomend the rooms of the patio. Big thanks yo the staff they were great.
I don't want to be too harsh about this hotel because the staff were OK. The room we stayed in however, room 9, was way too small. I'm quite a big guy but even my wife struggled for space and she is normal sized. The furnishing is adequate but the shower head moves about if the water pressure is on higher than average and consequently, the shower floor was covered in water. I didn't get much sleep either as the room's window is right next to Maria street and any cars or party goers woke me up. Breakfast is continental and isn't included in the price. It costs 1850 Forints and in my opinion, is not worth it. I went down, it wasn't busy but there were about 3 tables that still had rubbish from previous guests. I wanted water to drink and there was only one glass available. It was dirty. I didn't make a fuss, I grabbed a mug. It too was dirty, it had coffee residue in it. I finally grabbed a second mug and drank water out of that. No scrambled eggs, just cold boiled eggs, some ham and some cheese isn't really worth it. I've had better, MUCH better, and that was included in the price of the room. When I got back upstairs, I told the gentleman at reception how I felt about the whole thing but he just nodded, no apology and took my cash. They were kind enough to hold on to our luggage at no extra charge while we went to the museum on our last day but I can't see myself returning there. Too many things irked me, and I'm not fussy at all, I just want good food, a good sized room and a shower that doesn't spray water everywhere when I try to get clean in the morning.
