We arrived after 10 hours of driving to find they had cancelled all reservations without notifying me or the company I booked through. They had a supposed construction problem. The driveway and parking area was cracked and broken. The overall look was extremely run down. In the long run we were glad not to stay there except for the 90 minute call to get another hotel and then being charged for the new and old room that took a week to resolve.

BE WARNED! The parking lot is gravel and chipped concrete, with trash and weeds. The hotel is 20 feet from busy train tracks, near a crossing, so you get train horns when ever a train rumbles through. The worst part is the staff. They have no honor or shame. When we arrived, we were greeted by a poorly written, faded note with a number to call on a locked office door. Once we spoke to 2 people, they give us to the "owner." The "owner" then told us they don't have any rooms and they sold our room to someone else. Our reservation meant nothing. They do not guarantee your room, even if you prepay. They will give your room away if it means they can leave the property early. When I told them we had guaranteed the room, they told me to "call the internet." They offered no help to find another room in town or give any advice other than "call the internet." When I asked what we were supposed to do, I was told that was my problem. We found another room in town, and we're informed by local people the Big 12 hotel is known for not honoring their commitments, and giving away rooms when it is convenient for them. The owners are absolutely the worst type of property owners. They only want your money, with the least amout of work. There are much better properties in Broken Bow, properly run hotels who provide customer service, not treat the customer as a nuisance. The operators of the Big 12 are unserious and dishonest. They have no shame or morals.

We were surprised and happy to find practically brand new refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker at a property that so desperately needs updating. That said, it was clean and comfortable, and the woman that checked us in was very helpful.
