Rodeway Inn Cozad2.0 out of 5.0

This hotel gives you all the basics for a basic price. You get all that you ask for with the amount of money you spend on these rooms. That being said, overall a decent place. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms were updated, and overall well-kept. The breakfast area is extremely basic, and when my group visited it was poorly maintained. Waffles were sour and metallic-tasting, either expired batter and unclean waffle-maker. Other than that, completely fine place that accommodated a group of 14 college students very well. Decent standard of rooms for a decent price.
With all the rave reviews and awards, we were so disappointed by our experience with the Rodeway Inn. We booked via choice hotels with our UPS discount. We got a confirmation email with the total amount. While checking in, the women couldn’t apply the discount correctly therefore it took 20 minutes to finally check in after 12 hours of driving. We chose a king room because the photo on their website showed a comfy chair & paid $5 more just for that. We walked up the dark smelly stairway to room 206. The website claimed a fridge & a microwave, but no microwave in ours. The hard king bed was covered with an old worn out spread, typical of a 1980 spread with a very worn, thin blanket & spongy pillows. Too thin to use 1, too thick to use 2. The black out curtains blew out when the A/C was on. We had to put shoes to keep them closed. Room over looked the front, bright security light which shown through the top of the drapes. Our comfy chair turned out to be a glorified dining room chair. The bathroom could use a total makeover. The toilet was super low to the ground, which is unusual. The shower never got hot with very little pressure running out of a shower head not much bigger than a silver dollar. The silicon sealer around the bottom of the top was over an inch thick and missing in several sections. The small shower handle was gross with unwahable scum...I will include photos of what I mean. The room was very muggy and warm when we first walked in and it took over an hour to cool it with very loud A/C unit, so loud it was hard to fall asleep. My husband finally got up to turn it off, just to listen to a couple of trucks that were boon docking in their parking lot and then every few minutes trains would run by blaring their horns. So no, this hotel is NOT quiet. The next morning the breakfast was minimal with cereal, tired waffles and cold hard boiled eggs. We just left and bought breakfast elsewhere. There was no one else eating there either. Maybe we got a bad room? But if so, why? The parking lot was only half filled so why not give us a better room, unless they are like that? I hope the manager replies to this review & reply to why we put in room overlooking a bright security light, a dingy bathroom, a dining room chair & old bedding covers? The other reviewers love this hotel & from what we dealt with, our experience was less than desirable. We travel from Chgo to Vegas several times a year & for the price we paid, this was one of the worst hotel stays we experienced.
Stayed on our way to visit family. Very clean and wonderful, friendly staff. Management and housekeeping do a great job. Great place to stay. Comfortable beds, good breakfast. Easy access from highway. Will plan to stop here next trip through.
We have stayed here many times before but it is starting to show it's age. We were in a room at ground level and it wasn't very nice. Hard to breathe from the carpet smell. We moved upstairs and it was better.
This hotel was very clean. The room we stayed in was extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable. Kris who checked us in was nice and helpful. The check out process was quick and easy. I would highly recommended this hotel
I booked this hotel about four months ago when we were planning our trip. I expected a dumpy $50 a night hotel. When we arrived, we were welcomed very warmly at 11:00pm by friendly staff! Our room was wonderful! Clean, had the essentials, and very cozy. The heater was a little noisy but nothing terrible. There was a fitness center that met our needs in the morning! The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast foods. Everything fresh and hot. I definitely enjoyed our stay here and will recommend this place to anyone traveling through the area!! Five stars!
Quiet for a roadside hotel. Quiet, clean, firm beds, plenty of hot water for showers. All in all, everything you need for a rad trip stay. Including a breakfast. Though it could use a bit of help in that department. Worked for us in general.
The beds are comfy. The air conditioner is extremely loud. No elevators which made it hard considering I’m a single mom with a new born.... the staff were perfect and they gave us extra fans towels and pillows like we asked. We chose this hotel based off the pictures, it’s not as good as it looks. Oh & the shower pressure seems like God is taking a slow piss on you, I wasn’t even able to shave my legs. Hahaa. Step up yo game cuz there are better hotels along this interstate!
I checked motels in the Gothenburg and Cozad area and felt, for the money, this would be the better decision. The lobby and room were nice enough, bed was comfortable, room was clean. Was disappointed with the breakfast, not too carb friendly but didn't leave hungry. I would stay again if in the area.
AC filter had a thick layer of dust on it and there was mold growing in the bottom of the unit. Shaving clippings around the bathroom vanity. Smelled like smoke in the halls of the Inn but not in the room. Staff was friendly.
