Rydges South Bank

Just a short walk to everything South bank has to offer. Rooms were great and suitable for business travelers or couple weekends. Nice pool bar too with the option of staggering home and having a bevy in the lobby bar before bed. Thumbs up from me.

I had a beautiful room that looked newly refurbished, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. All the staff were wonderful, as always, and the buffet breakfast there is still my favorite. Yummy, fresh, and a great variety. Will defs stay there again.

Third stay for business at the Rydges South Bank Brisbane. This a clean, comfortable, up to date property, well located and suitable for business or leisure travel stays. Rooms (suites) were well sized and well appointed. The living areas were well sized, with windows on two walls (sheers and curtains), view of river, balcony, and each provided a desk and desk chair, sofa and coffee / occasional tables, a wall mounted credenza with large flat screen television mounted above, and a small bar with shelves, stone counter, mini fridge beneath. The views of river, sky line, the Wheel of Brisbane from living rooms were very nice (see pics). Some train noise is audible within room – but not terribly intrusive. The bedrooms provided large Kings, reasonably sized closet with safe, wall mounted television. The beds were reasonably comfortable with good linens and pillows, and two bedside tables, plenty of lighting, and windows, doors to small balcony. Décor is clean, modern, if spare, and attractive. The baths attach to the bedrooms. There were very attractively designed, with modern style and décor. As others have noted, the shower, while great looking can lead to a good deal of water on floor. The tub is free standing. Linens are fine. Sundries / toiletries provided are fine as well. The restaurant and bar (located on ground floor and open to Grey Street) are nice, good places to gather for drinks and bar food after work. Room service menu was solid, and service was warm, friendly, effective. Front desk service was generally good. Laundry services are available. Bell / valet was good. All in all, this is a comfortable, up to date, full service and reasonably priced upper mid-market property; and, is recommended for a business or leisure stay in Brisbane.

I stayed here for 2 nights as part of attending convention in August. The room is modern and clean, suitable for business traveller. The location is great for access to all the restaurants at Southbank. This is probably be best hotel at Southbank so I will probably stay there again next time I have a convention there.

It had been many years since we had visited Brisbane and our memories of the place weren't that great, do when my wife booked us in to Rydges Southbank, I was pleased but not ecstatic. But what a pleasant surprise the whole weekend turned out to be! We loved the vibrancy of the city and the perfect location of Rydges Southbank really augmented this. It is a short stroll over the bridge to the cbd and the fact that we were able to walk to and from the theatre made the Saturday night even more special. The staff and their service were of the usual high Rydges standard. The restaurant in particular has a marvellous ambience and the rooms are of a superior quality. I'd like to balance this report with something that I wasn't happy with - but I can't. It is an excellent hotel in an excellent position in a city that we will return to soon.

Located 2 minutes walk from river, and right next to the convention centre, this hotel is perfectly located. Amenities are great, but it is a pity the pool is small and only open until 6pm. Breakfast is sumptuous and extensive.

I had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. The room looked very modern, quite roomy and clean, and so does the bathroom. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of food too. I only have minor issues: The shower head is weird - If you turn on the water too much, there is too much pressure and the shower head shots up and spray water to the shower walls opposite it - and as there is no ‘door’ to shut the shower area, you risk spraying water onto the bath floor/bathroom entry. And of course once you turn off the water, the lost of pressure caused the shower head to slam down on its hook … Also, I may had a faulty key card as I was unable to access the floor with the buffet breakfast. But overall, very happy to stay here again.

I stayed at Rydges when attending a conference. The hotel is next to he convention centre. The hotel restaurant Bacchus is v expensive even for breakfast but the cafe on the ground floor was reasonable for breakfast ~ lots of choice ~ and drinks in the evening. Beds were super comfortable. A dressing gown would have been nice.

Had a overnight stay at Rydges, and highly recommend them. Lovely modern, clean room. Sipping champagne on the balcony with views of the river. Breakfast was excellent, and decor lovely. Friendly staff and service. Close to the river, for a lovely morning walk. Very central to Cafes and restaurants. Looking forward to staying again for a business conference.

Loved the location. Staff very friendly. Only downside was being woken by drilling very early on Sunday morning. Brought this to staffs attention. They were apologetic. They explained the issue. Offered a solution and handled it properly and efficiently. Can't ask for more when this happens. So well done to them.
