Rydges South Bank

Had a wonderful time in Southbank. Rydges is perfectly located in easy walking distance to the art galleries, museum, theatre and south bank precinct. It’s also a 10 Min walk to the Brisbane mall. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable and the balcony from the 8th floor had a lovely view of the Brisbane Eye and city scape. We loved our 2 night city escape and will defiantly stay at the Rydges again.

Stayed at Rydges South Bank for two nights, fully recommend this hotel! We arrived at the hotel around 2am after a long flight and the staff on reception were very friendly and helpful, easy check in. We were a bit nervous in case we couldn’t get into the hotel because of the time but it was fine, rang the door bell and hardly waited any time at all until the receptionist come and let us in. The room was spacious and clean plus the bathroom was a good size. We didn’t have a car at the time but on check out we picked up a car then drove to the hotel to pick our bags up, it was really busy at the front as a lot of guests wanted to leave their car at the hotel so it might take a while for guests to park but the staff were very efficient and being as quick as they can. My husband and I fully recommend this hotel and when we come back to Brisbane we will stay here again!

I stayed with my daughter and granddaughter in a twin room, with two large beds. The room was immaculate and the beds very comfortable. We had afternoon tea in the Bacchus restaurant which was very enjoyable and the staff are first class and made us feel welcome and special. The location is ideal for walking around Southbank, and visiting the museum or the theatre. It is only about a 10 or 15 minute walk across the bridge to the main shopping area of Brisbane.

Great location, great service and great value. For a first visit to lovely Brisbane this hotel was the perfect choice for its location and overall atmosphere. I will be returning to Brisbane again this year and for sure I will be booking into the Rydges.

Great location to Parklands & Southbank: Literally across one st & right onto the riverfront: decision to go left or right 1st: Right nice gardens & inner beach area! Nice little pop up coffee van right by Chinese Temple.

In Brisbane to see the musical Aladdin at QPAC. Normally stay in CBD but wanted to just be able to walk to QPAC without fussing for taxis. This hotel was an excellent choice for that purpose - 5 minute stroll to the theatre, range of restaurants and eateries nearby as well as the attractions of South Bank. Deluxe twin room with balcony with river views was a good choice - comfy beds and dark curtains a great combo for Sunday sleep in. Buffett breakfast options were plentiful - I particularly appreciate the inclusion of a barista made cappuccino (instead of the machines that some hotels are favouring now) and made to order omelettes. I was pleased to note too little touches like sourcing local products from QLD farms - such as the bottles of Maleny Dairies milk (flavoured and plain) they had on offer.. All of the staff that we dealt with were pleasant and friendly. Valet parking is the only option which is extra $ but I must say I was very impressed with the courtesy and smiling demeanour of the valet (Harry) who graciously retrieved forgotten items from our car twice (in our defence we were somewhat flustered on arrival having almost been defeated by the maze of one way streets and inadequate signage that is the Brisbane CBD- counter intuitively you have to take a sign that says North Quay to get to Southbank!). We made it to the hotel, we were most satisfied with our stay there and overall we would stay again and we would recommend. Would also recommend joining their free loyalty program which gave us a bonus later check out time to 1pm.

Easy access to Southbank - theatres, restaurants, galleries etc. next door to the convention centre. A ten minute walk from the city centre. We had dinner at the pool side, was quite loud as it was a Friday night. Difficult to hear one another. The pizzas were lovely but the cocktails were not! Room was beautiful and clean, big comfy beds. Could not hear other guests, blackout curtains for an uninterrupted sleep. Staff very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

This hotel is brilliant. Well located within walking distance to all the cafes and restaurants around Southbank and a 10 minute stroll to the main mall of Brisbane. Stayed here for a series of work meetings and the conferencing facilities were excellent. The hotel has just undergone a major renovation so the rooms are amazing, really spacious and well appointed. The foyer and entrance is well laid out with check-in and check-out a breeze. Whether for work meetings or a few days away this is a great hotel option.

Little parking out front but compulsory valet parking spoiled the arrival. However, entry foyer and greeting was very nice and somewhat compensated. Our room was upgraded to a Jnr Suite on the 11th floor which was simply fantastic with a great view and large rooms including a small kitchenette area. Monster TV's. Small but adequate bathroom off bedroom - very modern and clean. Great shower with excellent water pressure and constant hot water. One and only complaint was the AC worked grerat in living area but even on full fan just didn't blow through the two bedroom outlets which created a hot uncomfortable night being 24 degrees outside at night and 32 during the day. We had room service as we were exhausted and although not huge servings was beautifully cooked and as hot as if we were in the restaurant. Next morning going to breakfast we wished we had eaten there the night before as its not large but nicely ornate and a little decadent looking. Big comfortable seats and large tables. Checking out was painless except for waiting for the car and the crowds of other guests cars causing a bit of kaos.

Stayed for two nights to attend a convention at the centre next door. Could easily access the halls from the hotel, putting some cover over the walk between the two buildings would be beneficial when it is raining. Had room service both nights for dinner, would highly recommend the salmon. Room was superb, great big comfy bed, nice bathroom facilities, and great range of options to connect devices to the tv. If attending an event at the convention centre would highly recommend Rydges.
