Stayed 2 nights during week and found the hotel to be everything we expected. Fast book in and book out. Great location for Convention Centre ($8 Uber fare) or could easily walk but we had one person with a walking problem. The room was fine with two queen beds and good linen. Nice to have a bath and plenty of hot water. Breakfast special was a bonus, but there was just something 'missing'. Not the food, it was adequate, but the atmosphere perhaps?? We chose not to eat in the second day. There was no noise from traffic or other guests. Very necessary to have parking ticket validated before moving car from Tank St car park. Being from the country we hate having to pay for parking, but it is just part of city life, I suppose. All good for this visit and we got the hotel at a good price by booking early.
Fantastic stay. Great location, easy access to all popular spots, including the river to all stops via city cat. Could easily see southbank from the room. , Very pleasant stay. Room very clean and spacious. Very friendly staff, always smiling, Great views, quiet and secure. Huge kudos to Wayne and Tania @ reception. Very helpful, very accommodating and professional. Both Wayne and Tania made our stay exceptionally pleasant. We cannot express our gratitude enough for their assistance during our stay. Thank you. Chris and Rosalyn.
The restaurant was not working because it was a holiday, it was a bit slow. Check in was a bit slow. Nobody told us about the city party day Ekka. There was not enough information about how to get around
The room was larger than we thought it would be. The beds were great and made for a good night’s sleep. We found the staff friendly and particularly the housekeeping staff who always greeted us with a smile and a hello. Location is conveniently located and we were able walk to manage the short walk to the Mall. We think it was good value for money.
We arrived by taxi from the airport with 4 suit cases. No one greeted us and we had to struggle through the revolving doors while the lady in reception looked on. While efficient at checking us in, she was as miserable as sin and as unhelpful as she could possibly be. I asked for help with the baggage to the room and she said "This is a budget hotel we do not provide assistance. There is a trolley available if you need it". At the price we paid, it is hardly a budget hotel! I very nearly asked for a refund and looked for another hotel. On top of that, once I got to my room, I asked for an adaptor for my laptop with UK plug and was told once again, this is a budget hotel, you will have to buy your own! I was really surprised as the room was very nice with comfortable king size bed, excellent walk in power shower, high quality toiletries and accessories like an iron. If management can provide these things then surely they can supply an adaptor as most other international hotels do. The hotel is well situated in Brisbane, close to the river and shops. The view from our room was excellent. Make no mistake, this is a very good hotel. But it could be excellent with a little bit of common sense applied by management.
A spacious room. Very friendly, helpful staff. You really can't go wrong for the money. A fantastic buffet breakfast too. You just park a block away but not far at all. Keep the parking in mind when budgeting - $36 per 24 hours.
I was staying at the ibis Brisbane. The hotel is in a great location, but there is no onsite parking which sucks. Most of the staff were friendly but there was one staff member named Chantelle who was very rude and was unwilling to help and was very monotone while checking me in, just one worded responses, was quite uncomfortable to be around.( I think she needs to be trained again in customer service). The rooms were clean but quite out dated, the restaurant was nice enough. So all up just an average experience.
I don't mind the Ibis chain - they generally provide comfortable, welcoming accommodation and the Ibis Brisbane was no exception. The room was large and pleasantly set out - all fittings were modern, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom and shower perfectly acceptable. While this might be classed by some as a budget hotel it would have to be considered at the upper end. As an ACCOR member I got an invitation for drinks at the nearby Mercure - this was a well appreciated gesture and gave me a chance to meet up with some other ACCOR guests. The drinks and canapes were actually first class. I finished the evening with a meal in the Ibis Brisbane restaurant. As I have found elsewhere the food is actually very good, my steak cooked perfectly with a great salad and every bit as good as I have experienced in more upmarket (and expensive) hotels. I had a $1 breakfast included (again courtesy of ACCOR) - this was normally charges at $25 so a huge bargain but a great breakfast with all you expect these days from a buffet style hot breakfast. Full marks for Ibis Brisbane for showing clear effort to make guests comfortable and welcome!
This was a brilliant stay. Booked online for a fantastic price. Was given room upgrade to top floor. Check in was welcoming. Location great. Walked to the theatre. Would highly recommend. Free newspaper a great touch.
First time Accor Hotel member and user. The reason I register for Accor Hotel was because we'll be staying in this hotel. And to experience other Hotels under Accor. I suggest other should register to be and Accor member. Check-in was relax and easy, just present my passport as identification and room was available for early check-in. We had two big rooms with two queen beds. Bed is nice. We had city view but not much to see. Hotel staff is nice and friendly. Wifi needs improvement Buffet Breakfast is ok, just add more variation. There's nearby restaurants and 7/11
