Length of stay 4 nights Checked in at 11am the service was quick and trouble free. The room allocated was on the 15th floor it was clean, consisting of two twin beds, TV, coffee making facilities, iron plus ironing board, fridge, bathroom which also had a hair dryer. The only thing missing was a room safe. No real view out of window unless you like looking at office blocks. The hotel was 5 minutes walk from Roma St. Station and 10 minutes from Central Station. The main shopping area was also 5 minutes walk from the hotel hence restaurants coffee bars and pubs. The hotel was doing a two for one breakfast deal $18 which was buffet type and excellent value for money. Parking was available but at $38 per day so not cheap. Overall if you do not have a car the hotel provides good value for money.
We stayed here for a Christmas event this weekend which luckily meant we didn't need to spend too much time in the room. We were on the 15th floor which gave a not so beautiful view of offices. The smell of mould in the room was incredibly bad. The parking is a block away and 36 a day. The location isn't terrible, only a short walk to the Mall and other locations but it is a bit of a lonely street. I would personally never book again due to the smell but if that was rectified the location and parking could be bearable if the room was very well priced.
As city hotels go, it's a great central location to everything. Our reception check in was quick and efficient. A $12.99 buffet breakfast is available, but only upon pre-paying for it at check in. The three rooms we had on the 8th floor were large, somewhat sparse and with heaps of nicks, dings & scrapes on the walls and furniture, presumably associated with heavy use. Beds and pillow were very comfortable. Be prepared to pay $36 a day for off campus parking and in this day and age, paying $10 a day for capped internet access is on the level of a roach motel revenue mentality.
My favourite hotel in Brisbane. Stayed here on many occasions. Having a Silver membership with Le Club Accor Hotels brings good benefits. Good quiet room with a view on the higher floor (12th). Breakfasts are fabulous here!
I would actually rate this property a 5, based on friendly and efficient staff at Reception, and the breakfast room. The continental breakfast which came with my room was more than adequate although typically the toasters were ineffective. $10 gives you an upgrade to a hot breakfast but it didn't look good, just a calorie-laden fry-up. Rooms are on the small side but not tiny, the shower is strong, amenities in the bathroom are standard. A kettle plus tea/coffee supplies and a flat screen TV complete the room experience. Now comes the kicker that makes this a marginal 4, in fact 3.5 would be the correct rating; storage space is abysmally low, no drawers anywhere and tiny spaces to store your clothes. You are forced to live out of your suitcase.
We stayed at the Ibis for one night as we were going to a party in Brisbane. The room was ready before the usual check in time which was nice and they knew we were members of the Accor Club. The room was a typical Ibis style room, everything was there but it wasn't plush or fancy. Everything worked too. Breakfast was included with our room and it was very pleasant. There was a good variety of foods and it was not crowded when we were there. Again it wasn't fancy and there were no spoons at one point, but everything got sorted. Where it pays to do your research is in relation to things such as access to the hotel wifi. It is apparently free but we weren't told about this. I should have asked. In some Accor hotels you get wifi access by being a member of the club, but every Ibis customer gets wifi. Good to know.
Reception staff were excellent as well as the bar/evening restaurant staff. The breakfast staff looked like they didn't want to be there! No smiles there and seemed a lack of kitchen/waiting staff on the weekend.
I stayed two nights at the Ibis and was upgraded to a beautiful balcony room with outdoor seating, It was more what I would call a suite. These rooms are located on the top Level 16 of the hotel, so I am rating this particular section of accommodation. The view was great, overlooking the surrounding city landscape, and particularly colourful by night. Very comfortable King bed and lots of bench space and an additional section on the side with comfortable lounge chairs. Very spacious indeed, and a very large good bathroom, not what I'd call super luxurious, but very nice with a good shower over bath, and a long vanity area. I felt very good every time I walked into my room. The reception staff all naturally friendly and helpful The position of the hotel is another good feature. Only two or three blocks and you are in the Queen Street mall, and a few steps away from the Brisbane river.
stayed from 12/11- 17/11 was good hotel located near the city centre very accessible. good breakfast like the honey and the pancake which is easy to make and delicious. 3 good working lift the only negative comment was the reception, there was 1 small table with 4 chairs and the reception was so crowded specially if groups are queing to check in, stafsf are polite and I have a good room very quite. I strongly recommend this hotel.
Stayed 2 nights during week and found the hotel to be everything we expected. Fast book in and book out. Great location for Convention Centre ($8 Uber fare) or could easily walk but we had one person with a walking problem. The room was fine with two queen beds and good linen. Nice to have a bath and plenty of hot water. Breakfast special was a bonus, but there was just something 'missing'. Not the food, it was adequate, but the atmosphere perhaps?? We chose not to eat in the second day. There was no noise from traffic or other guests. Very necessary to have parking ticket validated before moving car from Tank St car park. Being from the country we hate having to pay for parking, but it is just part of city life, I suppose. All good for this visit and we got the hotel at a good price by booking early.
