I overnight-ed here on a recent work trip and was very happy with the value for money offered. The staff were very friendly and I was upgraded to a room with a balcony which had a great view of the river and casino which was nice. The room itself was comfortable, clean and a good size with everything you needed for an enjoyable stay. Breakfast was very good and excellent value for what was on offer. I will definitely be coming back on my next visit to Brissie.
Good mid range hotel booked for a couple of nights. Great location within walking distance of local attractions, shopping etc. Room was clean and well serviced and staff very pleasant. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choice and well worth the price. Hotel perhaps in need of a little modernisation, but we had no complaints and enjoyed our short stay
I stayed at the Ibis for 5 nights on a recent business trip, mainly due to its location close to my work venue. Check in and out was quick, and a late checkout was organised at my request at short notice. Rooms are comfortable and clean, with complimentary bottled water and free wifi. Hotel has a restaurant although i didn’t use it, as well as gym access. There are a couple of convenience stores just across road for snacks etc, and South Bank with all its eateries is just a short walk, as is the mall and CBD. For close by eats, I highly recommend Noodle & Donbiri just a 4 min walk down George St for some great Japanese food (licenced) and 51st St (Burgers and beer) about a 45 second walk across George St. This was my first stay at this Ibis and I would definitely recommend it.
stayed here for 4 nights, hotel was clean, reception did some printing for me , but the 1st floor bar was not open and the hotel 3 mins walk away was used for drinks and restaurant. hotel was walkable from the station with cases, 2 pubs were within 3 mins walk, plenty of food outlets, bottleshop on the doorstep. Had a great deal of coffee and egg / bacon bagel right next to the hotel. the centre of the cbd and tourist area within 5 mins walk, all the buses and river ferries within 5-10 min walk Would definately stay again
Have stayed here many of times. Always lovely, clean and fresh. Only ever had one issue and that was from other roudy guest that were breaking into a vending machine outside our room in the middle of the night! But staff were apologetic.
Great room, great service, great location. Our first room had problems with the power sockets, so we were moved up to the 12th floor. Huge room with two queen beds and loads of space. Bathroom was fully functional and always plenty of hot water. Serviced well too, lots of towels and clean bedding. Aircon worked a treat too, very welcome to come back to after a full on day in 35+ heat. We were able to go over to the Mercure and use their rooftop pool also, which was an added bonus. Reception staff were wonderful and always helpful. Thank you Ibis for a perfect week.
Hotel is old and worn out (doors have been fixed and partially re-painted multiple times, walls have stains), but very clean. Rooms are decent size, although view out can be blocked by neighboring buildings. Check-in was very efficient. The hotel bar/restaurant is not open after breakfast (you need to go to the next-door Mercure)... Decent buffet breakfast.
We stayed just the one night as a stopover before getting on the cruise ship the next day. We just had your standard room with queen size bed. The room was clean, spacious and with a very, very comfortable bed. The shower did not have as much pressure as we would like, fairly low pressure, but it got us clean. We had a checkout time of 11am which I think was standard, so it gave us time to have the buffet breakfast and then head out for a last bit of shopping. The buffet breakfast was good with a nice selection of both hot & cold options. Like other people's comments the pancake machine was playing up and only one person seemed to know how to fix it. This seems the norm with other hotels as well. Definitely book the breakfast when you check in. We only paid $12.95!!! Amazing price considering it's usually around the $22 - $30 mark in most hotels. The only downside was that there was no espresso coffee option. Having traveled a fair bit I was quite surprised by this. Breakfast also finished early, 930am, once again surprised by this, but like I said we had 11am checkout, so it gave us time to go around the corner and buy a coffee, (ibis you are missing out on revenue here) and then do a last bit of shopping. One last thing, no swimming pool on site, you have to go next door to the Mercure and use there's. Overall a really nice stay. Oh yes, also no free wifi in your room, but in the lobby they have two desktop computers with free wifi.
Excellent price, beds very comfy rooms a good size. Large bathroom. We had the buffet breakfast too and it was delicious (except for the pancake machine not working during our time eating there) only downfall was the noisy neighbours we had, I don’t know about you, but I really don’t like someone having a loud phone call outside my door at 3.30am. Plus their kids were a little rowdy in the afternoon, slamming doors yelling to get back in. But the staff were excellent, and next time I will call reception. Would definitely stay there again.
Nice enough hotel and very well located, rooms are a good size but poorly fitted out, one desk chair, so nowhere to sit. Beds scoot across the room when you sit up and lean against headboard. Bedside light has wiring problem and only lights when you move cord. Bathrooms dated but functional. Room has fusty smell, carpet is very old and Windows dirty. Air con struggles to cool room. Could be so much better. Offers early checkin if arriving in city on early flights for $70. Glad we only had one night this time. There is no bar or restaurant either!
