We only stayed for one night to attend an event. we didnt see much of the property but it seemed like a nice location. we stayed in the motel part not in a cabin and the rooms had been remodeled not too long ago. unfortunately a horrible cleaner smell greeted us when we opened the door. It was very aggressive and gave us a head ache. The mattresses were old, lumpy and uncomfortable. Staff was nice and everything else was good.

A room was recently remodeled and was very clean and perfect for our overnight stay. The staff at the front desk was extremely pleasant and helpful when checking in. Will definitely stay here again.

Perfect and cute little getaway

This was my first weekend getaway to big Bear. My boyfriend and I absolutely loved it! The little cabins are cute and quaint and clean and comfy. All the cookware and utensils were provided. We were able to make our own dinner without any problems at all. And the lake is literally just outside the door in a few steps away. And also the downtown area that big bear has is only a short walk away as well. The location is absolutely perfect. If you haven’t tried hot tubbing in the snow I highly recommend it. We will definitely be going back.

When me and my family arrived we checked in with the front desk to receive our room keys for the night. Once we went to our room, we realized that the room key did not work. We went back to reception to request a new key in hopes that the replacement would open our room, we then tried the replacement key in hopes that that would open our room, but it indeed did not. It was about 8 PM and me and my family were in the cold, trying to get this situation sorted out. Fortunate for us reception was very nice in regards to the situation as she continued to try and give us replacement keys to try at our room. Last time that we went to our room, we ended up knocking on the door and a person was already vacating the room with his significant other. He was confused as to why we were knocking on his door and mentioned that he had been staying in the room since Thursday and we arrived on Saturday. We then went back to reception and told them about the situation and they ended up giving us an emergency room to stay in for the night. I just feel like they need a better system in regards to checking in their guests, but I’m glad that the situation was diffused and me and my family were able to be warm for the night.

The signature cabin has pretty much everything that is comparable to a small studio. Kitchen came stocked with pots,pans, and various kitchen utensils (missing scissors). Only thing you have to bring is seasoning and oil to fully utilize the kitchen. Kitchen also came with a Hamilton coffee maker that was missing the Kcup adapter but maybe I asked I could have gotten it. Bed was comfy enough, but is a full not a queen so be prepared. Also TV was big I believe 70-80in but is an older type so there is no Netflix or connecting through screen share. If you want to watch Netflix/Hulu/Disney/etc only way is to connect a HDMI to a laptop. Bathroom was clean for the most part except the bathroom curtain with some stain, which were negligible. All in all, very cozy lodge with the essentials to make your trip to Big Bear worth remembering.

Incredibly kind staff but they advertise a fire place yet charge per log (decent pricing). Apart from that our unit wasn’t stocked with toilet paper and the previous tenant’s dirty towels were all bundled up in a bag and sitting on our porch. The ceiling mounted ac unit stopped working halfway through the night but the unit had a small space heater for the night. The real issue was the whirring noise it made through the night. Luckily the mountains were fun out here so I was too exhausted to care at the time but I want to leave this review to nudge management in the right direction.

Our favorite place to stay in BB! The cabins are so cute and give you the mountain rustic feel. Great location and walking distance to the village. Staff is super helpful and willing to assist. Dog friendly. They are also in the process of remodeling and the new cabins look very modern.

There was a lot of construction going on at the time of my stay, so I'll refrain from commenting on the general area. My main complaints were this: the WiFi signal in my room was so bad that i couldn't connect to it. The router(s) was too far away to get a signal for any of my devices, so I ended up using my personal cell service. I was in room 210 on the edge of the building by the lake if you want to verify. My second issue was that they give you a door hanger where one side says "do not disturb" and the other side says "maid service requested." There are a couple problems with that, but the main one is this is an outdoors facing unit and the hangar falls off easily. I was woken by some maids banging on my door and trying to unlock it because the crappy plastic hangar fell off and they probably couldnt tell which side was on display.

Thermostat in the room was broken. Tried to cool the room, started feeling warm soon. Noticed issues with the thermostat, it was too late in the night and with kids it was a very wasteful night.

Great stay at the Big Bear Frontier Lodge!

We did a single night stay in the Lodge at the Big Bear Frontier, and it was wonderful! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. They even had fireplaces in the room! Loved the hot tub and heated pool. We will 100% be back!
