I arrived at 6 pm the temperature being in the 30's - blinds were open exposing room to temperatures which I suspect were in the 40's - Having found someone who could explain the air-con it was a waste of time as it did not function properly the only cold air you could get from it was when you stood directly over the unit. It has a vent into the bedroom but obviously this was not working. The internet was non existent - I spent 45 minutes attempting to get on and when I did there was no signal so no chance of getting ones mail or using this to find alternative accommodation. The rooms are so basic - not even a hairdryer, if you don't take out your rubbish to the bins on the basement they were threatening to charge you $100. This has got to be the very worst apartment I have ever stayed in - I booked three nights and left after one.

2 Bedroom 1 Bathroom apartment, only just made it over the line of acceptable for the $$. Looked like a prison cell, very bare, very worn. AC from the dark ages, full of dust. Hot water in shower unpredictable, very noisy plumbing, filthy carpet and Windows. Silly me booked without checking here. Learn people....move on.

Room was not what was requested, we asked for a room with 1 queen and 3 singles. We got a room with 2 singles for a family of 5??? Went back to reception who made to check another room for the bedding arrangement. Room was fine but beds not made!! Had bugs crawling around the rooms, cockroaches etc. The hallway walls were thick with dirt!! Beds uncomfortable. Upside was it was close to the shops and public transport.

I booked a 2 bedroom apartment for a colleague and I to attend a conference. I requested 2 keys as we were using it as a base between meetings and didn't want to be tied together. Were given 2 keys but only 1 fob swipe which was needed to enter the front door and elevator. Our room was on the top floor with no stairwell access! I asked if there was any way I could have a key to the fire stairwell which was locked at the bottom so I could actually access my room without waking my colleague or racing around to find her and was told to just buzz the button and the night manager would let me in and up to my room if I needed. The room stank of stale cigarettes, had only 1 blanket that was stained and disgusting, the wifi didn't work and the shower would not get hot. Mid-conference at 9pm at night had accusatory missed calls on my phone saying we hadn't paid, when I'd put down credit card info months ago and called to check previous to checking in as I'd noticed the money hadn't come out of my account. Had to go back to reception 3 times to get this sorted. Then, on the final night, I got in late and buzzed the night manager to get let in, who said that I was going to be charged a call-out fee to get someone to let me up the elevator and be able to access my room! I HAD NO WHERE TO SLEEP AT 3AM. THIS SHOULD NOT BE THIS HARD! The fill-in receptionists were apologetic, but also had no idea what was happening. The management here are terrible and it's not worth your while.

Yes this accommodation is slightly cheaper than other places and in a great location but in my opinion it was absolutely not worth the money and next time I will walk a little further and spend a little more. Large spacious rooms but so unclean, the carpet in our room had clearly not been vacuumed prior to our arrival and probably for some time before that, there were cockroaches in the kitchen and one of the bedrooms and mosquito like bugs came out of the shower head when we turned it on! There was only one coffee mug and one teaspoon in a room that sleeps 4 people and no blankets on the beds and only one thin one in one of the cupboards. Thankfully there were only two of us and it wasn't the middle of winter! Overall not horrible but far from good. Wouldn't recommend it at all.

My family and I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment which was very spacious and comfortable. The building is old but the apartments are nice and up to date. Good location. Was able to walk where we wanted to go. Had no problems with the staff I found the receptionist lovely and very helpful

Stayed here for the state of origin as the only reasonably priced accommodation left in Brisbane, yes place is a little run down and the reception is not manned all the time and you have to use the intercom to get your key but you have a kitchen, laundry, plenty of room and it is in a great location with plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. We walked into the city each day which is about 1/2 an hour but enjoyed the stroll. There was some problems with our first room but we were shifted into another one and it was fine. The receptionist when she was there was very helpful. For a group of four of us we found it fine for what we were after.

My friends and I decided to find accommodation in the valley for the night and unfortunately this is the place we originally booked. We arrived at 3 to find out that no one was there so we had to come back at 4:30! We walked around the valley pointlessly while we waited for the manager to arrive to let us in. However, when we arrived back at the hotel at 4:30 (the time the manager said she would be there) we were greeted by no one yet again! We continuously pressed the intercom and was told that the manager lived there and she would be straight down, yet we were still standing locked out the front for another half an hour! We were then greeted by a young male who was very poorly dressed and loved to swear! He told us that the manager was on "holidays" and that he would go see if our room was ready! He took us to our room eventually and told us he didn't have a key for our room but the security would drop one in later that night (we were going out). We explained to the young male that we didn't want to pay him, we wanted to pay the manager as we knew she was there because we heard this male and the manager talking about us upstairs! We gave the male a $50 deposit and he said the manager would be in tomorrow for us to pay her! Wait it gets worse, we were relaxing and getting ready when my friend receives a call from the "manager". The manager was rude and abused my friend telling her to pay now or pack our bags and get out! We decided we would find another hotel for the night and packed our bags! We got down stairs to meet the man to give him the key and asked for our $50 back! He said he didn't have the money and had to go get it from upstairs. We said that's fine we will give you the key back when we get our money ! After we said that all of a sudden the money appeared from his pocket! This place calls itself a hotel! I would never recommend this place to anyone, this place doesn't even deserve a rating of one! This place is badly managed, they are rude and it doesn't deserve anyone's money! So when you are looking for a hotel in fortitude valley DO NOT BOOK THIS ONE, BOOK the BREAKFREE Hotel on Brooke street !!!!

I don't even know where to begin! I was absolutely appalled and disgusted of how these apartments are run. Firstly, we arrived at 3 with no one in sight at reception, after phone calls we were told the manager would be a hour and a half. We occupied ourself for that time, but to go back to the apartments and still no one was there! Kept ranging the intercom and got told the manager wouldn't be long as she lives on site. Still waiting, some guy who has no idea what he is doing and told us he didn't even work for them came down, constantly swearing as he has no idea what to do we finally got into our room. We then received a nasty phone call from the manager saying we needed to pay immediately or we would need to pack our bags and leave! Fair enough not paying some guy who said he didn't even work there! As the manager was rude and couldn't even have the decency to come down to reception to see us, as we could hear her and the guy talking about us, we packed our bags and left! There are so many other nicer and more welcoming apartments around the area! Wouldn't even rate this one star, people like this don't deserve people's money!

Had to wait over 2 hours to check in- got told the manager was on holidays and then got told by another person they were in hospital! A random guy came out and asked for us to pay him cash up front and we said no we want to pay a manager so he finally took us to our room and 20 minutes later we get a call from a horrible lady saying if we don't pay the man cash we can pack our bags and get out! We said we don't want to pay someone that told us he doesn't even work for the company so we packed our bags. They tried to avoid giving us our $50 deposit back but they had to if they wanted their key back! Absolutely disgraced I have never been treated like this by a company ever!
