The hotel lacked gym equipment, and those they did have were in poor repairs. The room was spacious, but the carpet had stains and was dirty. There was a smell or odor outside my room that was quite bad. It was difficult getring into the shower because the tub was so high. You literally needed a step ladder to get in and out of the shower. The location of the hotel is the only positive thing i experienced.

The shuttle dropped us off on the other side of Mary Street. Dashing between the oncoming cars we entered the automatic doors to the lobby, and saw 3 women working behind glass windows. The first receptionist allocated us our suite and instructed us to wave one of our cards that we were issued on a key chain in front of a security device in the elevator's panel to get to our floor. As we entered the suite we were delighted that we had a computer room, hallway, full kitchen with a dining room table, living room and master bedroom suite. Unfortunately, although the room is adequate, we were very disappointed in a few things as we got settled in. The view is interesting as the building is nestled among several other high rise buildings. We cannot see the river or downtown, but we have a great view of other apartment hotels, condos and buildings under construction. There is the never-ending sound of the thumping of construction tools and commercial elevators ascending and descending, as well as the general noise afforded a city with railways, buses and traffic. We have a sliding glass door in the non-descript living room that has a solid wall with windows 2 feet from the top to allow cross-ventilation. So there is no view from the living room. There are 2 sets of sliding doors that open out to a balcony from the living room and adjoining bedroom. The only furniture is a leather sofa with 4' deep seats with a tear at the base. There were about a half dozen silhouettes with nails on the walls where pictures used to be. There is an HDTV with a fair amount of channels on an oak wood stand. The adjoining kitchen has an oak wood table with 4 chairs that have 1" padding on the seats. The bathroom has a 3' high tub, glass enclosed which proves unmanageable for us vertically challenged.. We were 'issued' 1 bar of soap, 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels. In the kitchen we were 'issued' 1 tea towel, 1 dish detergent packet and 1 J Cloth. There is a stainless steel sink to the left of the over/under washer and dryer in the bathroom. That is great. After one use of the washer, there was water leaking out from behind it and the toilet. It continued to leak all evening and well into the morning. There was a big rip in the bottom sheet on the bed and there was only a top sheet and no blanket. The bed was as hard as a board. The thermostat was on a timer and would need time to figure it out. It was easier to throw our coats on the bed and worry about everything in the morning. Earlier in the evening we closed the door to the 'computer room' and decided to not use it. It had some dead small and large insects and needed cleaning. We didn't need the extra room so it was no problem for us. There is no room safe. The carpet is badly stained. There is free internet so that's a good thing. The location is great for shopping and transportation. We made good use of the ferries, trains and buses. It is an easy to walk down to the city and river from the hotel. We did that quite often. We felt the place could be a little more friendly, a little cleaner and a little more accommodating.

I was lucky enough to be able to check in at 7am. Very nice of the staff to help me out. The place was clean and everything was in working order. The gym was alright, the pool as well. The loaction was quite good for me. close to CBD offices and close to Queen st mall and river front restaurants. The bed was comfortable but cheap and the pillows were ridiculous, not too far from those little airplane pillows. All that being said it was a good value. For the money I paid I had a good stay. I'd stay there again but probably bring my own pillow.
