My wife and I needed a centrally-located and well-established hotel during a week-long visit earlier this year. She selected the Novotel Bordeaux Centre - good choice. A 10 minute walk to the central bus stations, there's a great breakfast/sandwich shop within a three-block walk; and transfers from the airport (by using the metro bus system) is a breeze.
Hotel is a good location a little distance away from city centre shopping area and restaurants But easily accessible by tram which stops almost at the door & not too far to walk. Car parking is available which is very handy if you are touring around the area. Rooms are a good size, very clean
Stayed here for three nights after a hiking trip along the Camino in Spain and before boarding a river cruise out of Bordeaux. The hotel is conveniently situated within easy walking distance to anything you would want to see in Bordeaux, and the rooms were well laid out and comfortable. The reception staff were very pleasant and accommodating, and I would give them high marks. The downside is the restaurant. Breakfasts, which were included, were quite satisfactory but anything beyond that was another matter. The menu was unappealing as was the food and service. Don’t eat there unless like us you are too tired to move. There are so many good restaurants in Bordeaux! A beautiful city and well worth spending time there.
Nice hotel, good rooms. Central location. Great parking next to hotel. We had connecting rooms on 8th floor, travelling with youths. Plenty of space and nice and quiet. Was given a warm welcome upon arrival, nice breakfast the next morning. Friendly and helpfull staff. Location is nice, we walked around, but if you like the tram stops close to the hotel. Overall very good!
Although rooms were more comfortable than other Novotels on this trip (especially Lyon which was awful!); Although we had some view, and although everything was clean & pleasant, we soon discovered our room looking out on Marechal Join was right across the street from the fire station and there was also a police station nearby. On a busy weekend, we were constantly "serenaded" by Inspector Clouseau like sirens.
Didn’t have high expectations for the stay, but was very wrong! Newly refurbished room & bath, comfortable, clean, good amenities and helpful and friendly staff. Just a short walk from the old city. Recommended!
Rooms are small but comfortable. The main issue is the Washroom and toilet is separate. No indian food available in the hotel. No nearby place to visit. Staff is cooperative. But the restaurant staff dont know English so very difficult to communicate
We stayed at the Novotel Bordeaux Centre for a three night getaway from London. I was a little worried by some of the reviews on tripadvisor but I needn’t have been. From the moment we arrived the hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very clean and functional and the rooms were great. We had a slightly bigger room that had two extra beds for our kids. All very comfortable and the bathroom was great too. We didn’t eat in the hotel but had a few drinks in the nice little bar area on a few occasions. This is certainly not a resort hotel, but the location is excellent and you can easily walk to and from the city centre. There is also a lovely cafe a short walk away where we picked up breakfast and coffees a few times which was very reasonably priced. We also caught the bus back to the airport and there was a stop about 5 mins from the hotel which was perfect. Much better then getting ripped off by the local taxis!
The outside building is very ugly as well as the entry/lobby of the hotel. Nevertheless, the room was very nice and unexpected. The breakfast was very good as well in comparaison to the competitors of the same range. Anyway, an hotel is meant for sleeping so I recommend it. Room : 5/5 (nothing missing) Cleanliness : 5/5 Location : 4/5 Staff : 4/5
I must admit that we were a bit apprehensive as we drove up to the hotel as it is not the most attractive from the outside but it is a good hotel and perfect for a short family trip to Bordeaux. The room was clean and spacious, with modern amenities. The reception had kaleidoscope’s for the kids which they loved and a foosball table in the reception area. Best of all our room was ready when we arrived at the hotel at 11am following a very early flight!
