Visited this hotel as part of our tour with Trafalgar. Although it is a 3 star we found the room very comfortable. Clean and modern furniture. Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. We had s big day so we ordered room service. We had duck shepherds pie and pumpkin soup. The soup was cool when it arrived but the pies were burning hot. Enjoyed both though. The buffet breakfast is a good selection of foods. They emphasis fair trade and plant to planet but you get plastic cups for drinking and bathroom..which I don’t get. Otherwise good experience!
no service. room old. no tootbrush, no earplugs, no shampoo, no conditioner, shaving kit, nothing in bathroom. no coffee machine, no upgrade for members, etc. restaurant looks shabby. bar is not welcoming. looks cheap....
This in no doubt a good hotel, centrally located, well furnished, ideal for business travellers. However, we had an average experience. It was a wrong choice made by me - because I was on a holiday and I feel this is not an ideal place for that... the weather was wet and windy and so we had to stay indoors with nothing much to do except watch TV. The restaurant is okay with limited menu. Staff are courteous and efficient, however some of them just spoke French so it was a little bit difficult to communicate.
Room booked weeks in advance for a romantic weekend but were put in a specially-adapted room with open plan shower - not very practical when sink just beside shower and floor was soaking wet. Nowhere to hang towels or to sit and relax in the room as there was no couch. The excuse from staff was that there were a lot of families in the hotel so I had to take what's left. Asked for another room but hotel fully booked until the next day. Staff changed us to a newly renovated room very nice room 713 but very warm and stuffy so difficult to have a good night sleep due to the air conditioning not working in the room . Very disappointed with Novotel. Jose scotland
Room is very comfortable with lots of space. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good as well. The location is excellent as you can walk to many of the sites or there is a tram stop 1 block away where you can ride all over town.
Standard Novotel but in a great location. the tram stop is outside but it is only a 10 minute walk into the old part of town. There is a public car park next door that allocated parking for the hotel (follow the signs in side).
Stayed in quite a few Novotel’s over the years. This is expensive in comparison to others and rooms very basic too warm and a little tired looking. Even the executive room we stayed in terms of furnishing is a basic standard room with a complimentary soft drink mini bar and slippers and robe thrown in ( towelling & robes need replacing though as rough through over wash) and did not really merit the extra paid. But to compensate the room was clean, the continental breakfast was very good with quality speciality Kusmi Tea and delicious bakeries available. Hotel reception and bar and breakfast staff were friendly and the location of the hotel was excellent in a quiet location within a five minute walk from historic centre and the no 1 bus stop which goes straight to the airport which I guess explains the premium paid. Would stay here again if revisiting
The hotel is somewhat less welcoming than the other novotels I have visited previously. Staff were not smiley, difficult to feel welcomed. Breakfast was ok. Room was big and noise was limited. But not worth the price paid for.
The hotel is ok. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious enough for two for a weekend. Sleep quality was quite good and the room was very quiet, didn't hear any sound coming from anywhere. It was a little too warm in the room even though we had turned off the air-conditioning/heating so we had to keep the window open in the evening to cool the room which was not very comfortable. You can see that it's quite an old hotel despite of the renovations they've been doing. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as the reviews were bad but there are lots of cafe's in the centre and some in the shopping centre behind the hotel (note that most of them are closed on Sunday), there's also Starbucks nearby that opens early on Sundays, too. We felt that the hotel wasn't really worth the money as there's two Ibis hotels nearby (like 20 meters so technically in the same building) that are generally cheaper and are part of the same hotel group. The service at the hotel was minimal and the staff were not particularly friendly but did their job efficiently. The location is really good and a taxi from the airport costs about 26-32eur.
The location of this hotel is very good, central easy to walk to the center and even a tram station in front of the door. Just behind the hotel a great shopping mall. Location cannot be better. The rooms are spacy and comfortable and very clean! If this is all you need for your stay this hotel is the place to be for you! Yet, in terms of service the whole hotel is far behind of what I would expect from a 4*hotel, at a price of 145 Euro and being Accor!!! It appears not a single staff is smiling. No one goes towards the guests, they just wait until a guest is asking. The worst is the restaurant. At this price and from this company I would expect much more in terms of quality and service. The breakfast is a shame and in any 2* hotel better served that here. My recommendation: If you need a decent room to stay in a top location you are right here, in case you need all the other facilities and services of a usual 4* hotel you are wrong here.
