Location on outskirts of Bordeaux city. Renovated warehouses. By close to tram line c which will take you easily into city centre. There is a pool/surfing with a bar next door you want a cheeky drink before you head out for the day/night. Rooms where very comfrtable, with a small kitchenette. The bed was very comfrtable and we had a fantastic night sleep. Lack of power points though, unless we just couldn't find them. Hotel itself was good for noise reduction, was off street so no problems with car noise pollution. Breakfast area is small but serve continental food, cold meats and cheeses, and other basics. Great spot if happy to walk, tram or have a car, they have parking outside.
If you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel with clean rooms with the added extra of cooking facilities in each room and very importantly free parking then this a great place to go. I found the staff very friendly and courteous. The hotel is only 10 minutes from the city centre and can be reached by tram which is located less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. If you're traveling by rental car from the airport it's only about a 20 minute drive. You can purchase breakfast for around €10 or the cheaper option is to buy your food from the local simply supermarket which is only 1 tram stop from the hotel.Overall this is great hotel for traveling in and around the Bordeaux city and region.
Good reception with out of hours key pick up. Clever hotel/kitchenette rooms so you can chose between eating out or knocking something up. Good value and a short but frequent tram C to the centre. Breakfast fine choice of continental fare. Next door to a surf-wave outfit that looks fun and near to a bistro with a serious bouldering and climbing wall! So would be good for families dipping into town and back to relax. Good value.
Slightly too far away from the city centre, it is a pretty basic accomodation. We had a really tiny room, with nothing to complain nor to praise. The reception was educated without enthusiasm. In summary, not an accomodation to remember or to repeat.
I stayed at Galerie Tatry for a couple of nights in January. Location: Easy to find. I took a local bus from Bordeaux airport (EUR1.50) and got off in the centre of town. I knew I had to follow a tram line so I did. Though the hotel seems to be located on the outskirts of town, it is ~15 mins from the centre. Very easy to find and there is a bug supermarket near by. The room had all Room: I had all I needed. The kitchen was equipped with a fridge, microwave, cutlery, pots and pans, detergent - all I needed. The bed was comfortable and the clean bathroom. TV only had French channels but was ok for a couple of nights. Service: Friendly staff. Everything was explained upon check in and very smiley and accommodation staff - merci!
Good facilities and clean. Comfortable bed. Difficult to locate and parking somewhat of a problem. Unfortunately amenities are not very close, i.e. restaurants, etc. However, would choose to stay there again.
This is perfect hotel if you are on a budget and plan to cook your meals here. You will find all equipment here (excluding kettle but there is a filter coffee machine). There is a TV, bed, small kitchen in a corridor, fridge, bathroom with towels, shampoos. It is not in the city centre but you can take a tram C to Grand Parc. 2 minutes walk there (one way ticket 1,50 euro, one day ticket 4,60 euros; ticket machines accepts cards and coins payments only - not notes - one at the airport). From the airport you can take an affordable public bus number 1 to the Gare St Jean SNCF (1hr journey if there is no traffic jam). I did not have any breakfast here. There is one "off licence" shop nearby but a bit expensive. I went to Auchan supermarket (Meriadeck tram stop) where you can find everything with low prices. Well worth it!
Out of town but with a tram stop so easy access to the town, and free parking. Rooms have a kitchen and are on the small side we stopped two nights this time but would not want to stop longer as a couple. Reception was good, and up the road we found a small pizza shop /restaurant used by locals (Le Four a Pizza) we had two great meals and were treated royally.
Fine hotel, nothing fancy, very basic but clean. It had a small kitchenette. Breakfast was pretty dull, but i liked the kantine restaurant next door. Tram stop is closeby and it has a ticket machine. Mor character needed to finish this review...
A city like Bordeaux should be explored from a distinctive kind of hotel. The Residhotel Galerie Tatry is just such a quaint hotel set up in old wine warehouse. The setting reminds you, every single moment of your stay, of the fact that you are in the world's wine capital ! An apartment hotel where you can cook through your holiday if you want to , the highlight is the "Grand Parc" tram stop abutting the property that enables direct access to the city center and the pleasures of Bordeaux in under 10 minutes. A delightful apartment hotel. Walk about the Bordeaux city center and the Quai and the appealing Rue Sainte-Catherine all you like and take the tram back to Grand Parc and the hotel!
