We stayed at the Maritim recently and were impressed with everything about it. Upon check in, they sent us to a room that was already occupied but it was no big deal as nobody was there when we walked in. The check in in staff immediately upgraded us to a fantastic suite that was clean and had plenty of bathroom and coffee maker that are always appreciated. The sauna area had two saunas, either his and hers or possibly naked and covered which was also appreciated. The old “it’s a European thing” with nudity really only applies at private spas and gyms nowadays, not at hotels where all the world with different customs stays. Besides that, the location was great and the front desk directed us where to walk around for shopping or eating. Overall, it was a great hotel and would highly recommend it.
We were happy with our room which was comfortable, clean, good shower. Reasonable price so at the back of the hotel without a view. We ate in the restaurant which was rather pricey but the food was good so that was OK. We ordered from A la Carte as there was a huge buffet as a lot of guests seemed to be business groups and coach tour groups. It certainly suited our needs and sat in the bar overlooking the Rhine which was enjoyable.
Our room smelled funky and when I asked to change rooms the other one had a broken A/C. The food was under my expectations. It was miserable. I am disappointed. please consider carefully if you wanna stay there.
Location of the hotel and rooms are just great! Car parking facilities perfect allthough expensive. Very friendly staff but average guest difficult to support, at least for me: very old (fashioned), conservative and without education...
We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Rhein. Having chosen this location, we had to opt for a room with a view of the river and we also upgraded to a suite. All said and done we arrived at a cost per night of €250, which in our opinion was way too much for a hotel of this quality situated in a small town like Königswinter. The good things: the location, the buffet breakfast and the service. The bad things: the windows were too small to properly capture the view, some of the gym equipment was preposterously bad (old and rusty) and the aforementioned pricing. BTW, the German word is uberteuert!
Had a very spacious family room, more than 60 sqm. Very modern, room nr. 465. No noise and new rain shower. Everything very clean. Indoor swimming pool open from 06u00 in the morning. Nice buffet with good variation and lots of choices.
There was deafening, room-shaking construction going on at the hotel every day. Requests to change rooms were either denied, or the new rooms were in construction areas, and when we tried to check out early and move hotels we were told the cancellation fee was 90% of the cost of the remainder of our stay. As we had to sleep during the day for our business, nobody in our group got proper sleep. Any decent hotel would make accommodations during special circumstances like renovations, not here. We have ensured that our company will never book people in this unaccomodating, mean-spirited hotel again. Hopefully others heed our warning.
I stayed for two nights in this great hotel in Koenigswinter. The rooms was very cosy, well decorated and facing the beautiful Rhein. What an amazing view! The hotel is located near the centre of Koenigswinter with the major attractions and activities offered by the famous "Siebengebirge" a few walking minutes away from its door. The U-bahn station is also nearby, with regular services to Bonn - around 30 minutes away. The breakfast is good. The hotel inner pool / sauna offers you the opportunity to relax after a day in the mountains. I totally recommend this hotel.
My partner and I stopped overnight to break a mammoth drive from Calais to Furth, the hotel room was spotless and the bed comfy, we both slept well, we ordered a double room but had joined twinned beds with two separate duvets, handy car park too.
Very good vegan food in the restaurant - the lasagna - and the vegan cosmetics are a big advantage. Also you have a beautiful sight at the river. The room is nice an clean. Only the fitness equipment was not such a luxury.
