Hotel Amadeus4.0 out of 5.0

I expected a lot more from a 4 star hotel; in my opinion, and being fortunate enough to having traveled extensively in my life, I find this hotel to be more in line with 2 stars. Some pros and cons: Pros: - the price was quite good, though perhaps that should have raised a red flag - the vicinity to the airport - the size of the room - the staff was helpful Cons: - very outdated - from the walls to the ceiling it looks more like a dirty office building - super old beds and a metal table with one chair (I repeat, one chair) - the room was extremely hot, even though I cranked up the A/C to the max - twin beds in 2017?? And furthermore in a room big enough to host bigger beds? - the location of the hotel is dubious. I did not feel safe walking around the area. The room was double occupancy and there were two of us (I booked for two), yet I had to request an additional set of towels as there was a set for a single guest only. There was also only one additional pillow, still for a double occupancy. The room was connecting to another one and unfortunately I did not realize it until later. I went to sleep at 11:00pm or so and at 1:00am I am awakened by the adjoining room's light and tv. The light was coming from a gap between the ceiling and the wall between the two rooms and it was quite bright. The guest in the other room was watching television through the night and kept me up. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to others, at least not until a full renovation of the hotel has taken place. The noise situation, room cooling and decor (including upgrading beds and bedding) should be top priority.
We were at this hotel for one night. It was a bit rundown but nothing to complain about. The beds were good, the room was clean and the breakfast was good enough (lots of pastries but also eggs, bacon and etc.). The staff was really nice and helpful. I had a few questions beforehand and got my answers promptly (by email). Our stay was on a weekday and we arrived quite late. Everything around the hotel was closed. The guy at reception opened the little bar he had to accommodate us thirsty travelers, that was very nice. We traveled from the airport to the hotel by taxi, that was about 12 euros. And left the next morning by bus to the train station.
The location of hotel is good from the point of access to daily necessities, bus stop, airport and train station. hotel is in a quiet place and awaking in the mornings with the windows open was very pleasant with quietude.
We stayed in the hotel from Monday to Friday and found the reception very welcoming. Our main aim of our trip to Bologna was to visit the Ducati museum and factory, there isn't many hotels closer than this one to it, a relaxing 10 minute walk is all it takes. The room was spacious, clean and tidy and the only fault we found was the air conditioning was poor, on closer inspection (friday) we found that the switch was broken and stuck in the minimum position. The breakfast was excellent with a remarkable selection to choose from. Easy access for Bus routes into Bologna and a 15 minute walk to Borgo Panigale Train Station where you can go into Bologna for onward travel to wherever. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and was a pleasure to stay there.
I spent a night there on a weekend in may to attend the Zoomarkt expo. The hotel is being renovated step by step and it is very obvious. The reception side is completely fancy and modern whereas the lobby still has this old traditional italian theme. Individually, the styles are nice but it is weird to see both simultaneously as that they are not blended together. My parents stayed in one of the junior suites while i got a single room. Both are very large and spacious. That is really refreshing to see. However, the suits were modernized while the single room was dated and had some patches on the carpet floor. The bathroom was clean though. The breakfast was good, decent. No complaints there. The hotel is a bit outside the city center, we took taxis to get around. The good thing is that is was located centrally between the airport, the expo hall, and the city. It took less than 10mins from the airport to get there by taxi whereas public transportation would take around 50mins (for a fraction of the price of course). I dont know if i would stay there again. If i do, i would definitely opt for a suite.
We had stayed once before in this hotel and were very pleased, Everything is perfect, there is also an underground free garage. Rooms are large and very well equipped. Last time we stayed there, the reastaurant was closed, but this time it was open, and a very nice one. Hotel easy to find, the GPS took us next to the door.
Colleague booked for a trade show at Bologna fiere. Near Ducati factory. Plus: Fairly quiet area at night, large room by European standards. Excellent Italian restaurant attached. Basic breakfast included in room rate. Friendly staff. Underground parking. Reasonably clean. Minus: air conditioning in room is useless, does not cool room properly. The only working air-conditioning in the entire hotel is in the lobby. Fortunately it was not too hot at night during my stay and windows could be left open. If it was hot, you would suffocate. Skimpy on towels. Cramped shower. Room stinks from stale cigarette smoke, echhh. Furniture very basic and dated. Overdue for a remodel. Ok if you don't spend much time here and if you don't mind rooms that smell of cigarette smoke.
We stayed one night in this hotel. We had a very good surprise because we got an upgrade from a standard double bed room to a Junior suite ! The building by itself is not fresh, the decoration could be a bit more up to date. But the room was more satisfying! The bed was nice, as well as the sofa. Everything was clean. The breakfast is ok, a classic continental buffet, with some gluten-free options. The staff is friendly.
No negative surprises, close to the airport, clean and spacious room, good breakfast, acceptable prices, fast check out, good English spoken, service OK, good sleeping Comfort and bathroom with enough amenities
we arrived late in the night. The staff at the reception had given us good directions so it was not difficult to reach the hotel.Parking place outside was full.. But covered parking free had a lot of space. The hotel is in a very quiet position.Rooms are big.Furtinure a little bit dated.Breakfast as usually in Italy not too big.Overall, a good experience.will go back in case of need
