Hotel Amadeus

Im constantly in Bologna for work and I had tried few hotels. Amadeus has been a bad experience. The price is based for a 4 star but it’s more closely to a 3 star. And only to have a safe, fridge and a Hairdryer does not justify the 4 star. Because the non smoking room was smelling of smoke , after asking for another room , the 2nd choice was even worse. Heating of the 90th are full of dust. Breakfast was very confusing , as all the tables were dirty or occupied , 50 % of the breakfast was missing ( Croissant , water , bread , ham , cheese and milk for cereals ) ! The waiter were stressed and explained its like this because of the Sunday , what I is not an excuse for a fully booked 4 star hotel to work with 3 people for breakfast. After informing the reception we even did not get a discount of a coffee and a croissant of a value of 4 euro. The only excuse of the reception was to write a note to the director . Positive feed back is big room and a clean spa ! To not make any name I can suggest the next time to book a hotel around Bologna fiera what is a realistic 4 star hotel.

Had the pleasure of 1 night at this small hotel awaiting flight. Very nice town is Bologna and hotel to suit friendly staff and very small gymnasium!! Unfortunately the spa was closed, after weeks on the road was really looking forward to a rub down and relaxation . Just wished your booking team would have told me prior to making reservations all not lost as was only one night breakfast was ok “continental” not English and no menu to choose from. Cheap and cheerful for one night.

We drove all weekend and our children were exhausted. When we got there, the restaurant was closed so we could not get any dinner for them. Luckily I had brought picnic type foods for them in the car. The restaurant when open is not child friendly, in fact there seem to be no kid friendly areas around this hotel. You can’t get any food except for when the restaurant is open and all restaurants open at 7pm which is too late for kids who go to bed at that time. My daughter had an accident with her fruit smoothie on the bed spread and the hotel said we’d have to pay €12 euros. Absolutely disgusted with this especially as the hotel cleaning is awful. When we arrived, the floor in the room was filthy. The beds are the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on and the noise from the corridors and other rooms is like only paper separates us. Do not come here with kids or if you expect decent food or a good nights sleep. I’ve stayed in better 2 star hotels.

It was just a one night stay on the way out of Italy. The hotel was clean, location was fine, but not central to the city. The best was the restaurant which was superb and the service outstanding. It was a reasonable accommodation with everything in working order.

Great value for money (51 EUR for one night stay). Convenient for the airport, also direct access to the city by bus. Check in and checkout friendly and efficient. Room was comfortable, quiet and spacious with a good bathroom. Buffet breakfast (included) was very good for the price. I have no hesitation at all in recommending the Amadeus.

Despite a room booking mixup where they claimed that I had cancelled my room (I hadn’t!) they did make a room available after a short wait. The room was spacious. However there was a lot of noise from the next rooms bathroom (you could hear every small movement) as well as from some noisy occupants of other rooms coming to bed late (not great when you’ve got a 7am flight the next morning!). It’s also an expensive taxi journey from the airport. I paid €15 one way. I think you are better off finding a closer hotel with a bus transfer.

We used this hotel as a place to stay prior to leaving from the Bologna airport. It's located about 3 km from the airport which makes it very convenient. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a very spacious superior room which also had access to a balcony. The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable, spacious bathroom, and offered good room amenities. The a/c, however, never worked well and made it rather uncomfortable. The hotel offers free parking (a plus) and a decent breakfast. The hotel is also located on the #13 bus line which rakes you directly to city center. It would be nice if the hotel offered shuttle service to/from the airport either free or for a small fee. Nice place for a single night's stay awaiting airport transfer.

A nice and clean hotel, conveniently near the airport. Rooms are being refurbished step by step Andre the result is promising. Most of all the staff is very friendly and service oriented. The team at breakfast works extremely hard to provide an overwhelming choice of high quality breakfast. The hotel is not located in the center but a cheap taxi offers a nice ride into town. Be aware, In the city center you cannot stop a taxi passing by. You need to go to the many taxi stops to grab your ride. Bologna is a beautiful historical town with both shopping lanes and small streets.

This place is actually quite good even if it is a bit far from the Bologna center, but a facelift would have been welcome. My bed was very soft and I could hear my neighbour snore. So the walls are thin. Anyway it serves its purpose for a night or two.

I expected a lot more from a 4 star hotel; in my opinion, and being fortunate enough to having traveled extensively in my life, I find this hotel to be more in line with 2 stars. Some pros and cons: Pros: - the price was quite good, though perhaps that should have raised a red flag - the vicinity to the airport - the size of the room - the staff was helpful Cons: - very outdated - from the walls to the ceiling it looks more like a dirty office building - super old beds and a metal table with one chair (I repeat, one chair) - the room was extremely hot, even though I cranked up the A/C to the max - twin beds in 2017?? And furthermore in a room big enough to host bigger beds? - the location of the hotel is dubious. I did not feel safe walking around the area. The room was double occupancy and there were two of us (I booked for two), yet I had to request an additional set of towels as there was a set for a single guest only. There was also only one additional pillow, still for a double occupancy. The room was connecting to another one and unfortunately I did not realize it until later. I went to sleep at 11:00pm or so and at 1:00am I am awakened by the adjoining room's light and tv. The light was coming from a gap between the ceiling and the wall between the two rooms and it was quite bright. The guest in the other room was watching television through the night and kept me up. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to others, at least not until a full renovation of the hotel has taken place. The noise situation, room cooling and decor (including upgrading beds and bedding) should be top priority.
