The room was in need of refurbishment. The shower head would not stay upright and there was no plug in the basin. The paint was peeling off the windowsill and the furniture was tatty. However, the bed and pillows were good. The hotel in general needs redecorating. The leisure centre was closed and I did not now about this at the time of booking. This seems to be a party hotel so if you want an early night check what is going on there before you book. I was at an event but couldn't go to bed before 1.00a.m. as the loud music was directly both under and outside of my 1st floor room. When I went to go to my room at about midnight and the key wouldn't work there was no one on reception. It took several tries at calling on the reception phone before anyone answered and came to help. The staff at the event which was an 80s night, were great. 5 stars for them. I bought the same drinks 3 times and was charged a different price each time, only 40p or so but given the till set up I thought this was strange. I didn't have breakfast.

Private Christmas party on at the hotel. Music blasting out until late and after it had finished, had party members making extreme noise in the corridors and rooms either side of me. Vomit in the corridor. WIFI is non-existent in the room I was in, batteries didn't work in the TV. Spoke to the night receptionist who took notes of the above and said someone would contact me later that day but never heard anything which shows a lack of care (he handled the situation very well and was very apologetic). I was kept awake from around 2am

Receptionist was lacking in any happiness to help. We were given lesser spec rooms than we had reserved online. View over rubbish stack out of window. Excessive noise at 1100 night and 400 in morning. My tea coffee sugar jar was half empty. Other than that it was amazingly good.

The hotel is going through a renovation. My room was lovely, freshly decorated with new carpets and bathroom. The hallways are old and rundown. I am assuming these will be done after the rooms?

Lovely staff on reception desk. Easy check in. My room needed updating though. My son had an upgrade to the new refurbished rooms. Lovely up grade for him. On the whole a lovely stay & breakfast was superb.

Darren

There was nothing wrong with the room itself but the double doors outside my room didn’t close slowly, instead closing with a loud bang. This was a few feet from my head and I was woke up countless times by people using said double doors. In the morning I was incredibly tired and asked if I could extend my check out time because I so desperately needed sleep. The staff were entirely unsympathetic and disinterested. I was told that it would be £10 per hour to stay. That price is nothing short of disgusting. I paid £44 for the night! I ended up paying for 1 extra hour and cancelling my booking I had there over Christmas (23rd-26th) and have instead opted to stay at the premier in Solihull town centre. I’m seriously disgusted by my stay at the regency hotel. I’ve stayed there before with no issues. But the customer service I received on this occasion was poor at best. Not happy 1/10

When I arrived, I was asked to pay a £10 parking fee because I booked through Expedia. This was not made clear when booking the room. When I went upstairs, I found that my single-bed room had not been hoovered and had plasterboard chips on the bed. I was very disappointed and complained at the front desk. They were friendly and upgraded me at no additional cost to a really lovely spacious double bedroom, that was clean. I had a very enjoyable night because of this, but it was a shame that the experience started so poorly.
