The look and convenience to what I was there for
Nice quiet place to stay.
I was very pleased with my stay. The staff was friendly, the property was beautiful and the amenities were great. The breakfast was good and I also had a chance to workout in the fitness room while I was there.
The staffs integrity is not good. I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights, and The guest in one of the rooms checked out early. They were reluctant to give a refund for the room after checkout. Reason saying that She did not checkout. I was in the lobby when she handed the front desk clerk the card keys.. They lied and said that they didn’t get notified she was checking out. They gave both of us a rooms that was either occupied or was not cleaned yet. The staff is not honest and possibly needs the money. This is not a place you should stay while visiting Birmingham.
The room and bed were simple and comfortable. The breakfast comprised cold cereals, instant oatmeal hot packs, orange juice, a selection of yogurts, hard-boiled eggs, self-made waffles, breads. Typically, very few low-sugar or low-carb options. Adequate. But I don't expect better from most hotels. The outdoor patio and pool were lovely but the temperatures dropped the day we arrived, so no swimming for us after all.
What we liked about it was the design and the updates that were made. We did not like the mold in the bathroom and the construction going on and the service was horrible
No carpet in the rooms. Dirty, broken glass at several locations in the parking lot.
Cleanliness was awful.
The staff was not very concerned with helping the customers. At check in they were busy talking with one another and not interested in getting people checked in. The hotel was in shambles due to ongoing renovation which was not advertised. The sign at the pool said it closed at 10pm, but at 9pm the staff made people get out and leave. I sat and watched 8 other people come to try and swim and were turned away between 9:00 and 9:15. Very disappointed in this hotel. Cleanliness was not a priority in any area of the hotel.
They are in the middle of renovations so stuff is everywhere the room had a bad odor to it and and parking area is around back they have door back there u can use but it doesn't work so u have to walk all the way to the front
.
We asked for a refund...upon arrival the hotel smelled of cigarette smoke, the shower and vanity were not cleaned and had hair all over them, one of the double beds was broken (collapsed in the middle), the fridge had crumbs and hair everywhere, we found old stains on sheets and bed skirts and the smoke detector was hanging from the wall...just to name a few of the things we found upon arrival! We didn’t even unpack we asked for a refund immediately!
Easily accessible and very clean. Loved that it was pet friendly with no extra charges.
The property was under remodeling and there was no mention of that during my reservation. Very disappointing after driving all day and needing rest to find this out. There was plastic in the hallways covering carpet and complete hallways under construction. Otherwise it would have been ok.
Our room smelled of pets and we found a bug that looked like a tick in the bathroom. The overall hotel has quite a few scrapes and bruises and appears neglected. Our door lock was iffy opening. Very few guests there so we suspected they are having difficulty staying open.
Arriving at the hotel I went to the office to check in and had only said “I have a “ and the gentleman behind the counter called me by name and said we have been waiting for you, I was about to say and you know when he said “I know you” but he didn’t. It makes you feel good when you are treated like this and the facility was excellent. Job well done.
