The highlights are the beautiful, quiet grounds, spacious room with a fantastic power shower, and a lovely breakfast. Also, lots of parking available. The only downside was that the room got very hot and stuffy at night, which affected our sleep.

Have stayed here multiple times but felt let down by the service in the restaurant in the evening. Dining alone, I just want to eat and go, got seated and then was left for 25 minutes. Eventually had to flag down a member of staff who didn't appear to care. Food was ok, but staff need to be a bit more attentive. Key card failed in the morning and despite reception trying to reprogram the card , had to wait 44 minutes to get back in my room whilst waiting for maintenance. This put me way behind schedule for the day before

Unorganised & cold room

Very cold room, tried to turn the heating up but didn’t work. Was asked to pay on departure but had paid on arrival. Took too long to sort out had to leave and was late for a business meeting. Not very well organised. Shame really as it’s a nice hotel. Staff very helpful.

Staff were helpful in general. Room was clean but very hot as the radiator was not able to be turned off. Breakfast was very nice with lots of selection but had to ask three times for a cup of coffee. Was sent an invoice for our stay after we checked out but due to had already checked out we couldn’t see it….

Good food options for us even though my wife is vegetarian but eats fish, more than 3 nights might mean we repeat our selection, but excellent quality. Room presents nicely, absolutely spotlessly clean. Staff are all friendly. This was our second visit.

Make sure you DO NOT book with them if they have an event on ie Wedding. We stayed two nights in an Executive Room (patio doors lead on to main garden and close proximity to bar and terrace). Music from bar goes on til about 10.30 but the noise from the weddings is horrendous and went on til midnight. Very limited sleep both nights and even if you move rooms you are still going to hear everything due to the layout of the rooms. Usual banging when anyone goes in and out of their hotel rooms. Food and Staff were wonderful but you can get that at a pub - what you want from a HOTEL is a good nights sleep and we most certainly did not get that. Complaint asking for full refund underway.
