Ok price , bit lack lustre stay
The Hotel is a nice building steeped in history, I was staying in the newer annex building, I have a great sized room (Willow) but not had a smell of hamsters or a rabbit hutch, I couldn't get to work out why.
One radiator couldn't turn off so had to sleep with windows open and it was a very windy night.
Drink prices were steep £17.00 for 2 pints I think is a lot even for a hotel. I didn't eat in the restaurant as I had heard in the whirlpool the food was very mediocre and a number of people the previous night had sent it back. So I didn't bother.
Breakfast was ok... I ordered poached eggs which were hard boiled really , which always baffles me how people can get poached eggs wrong, I didn't get the items I ordered and there was a little confusion Wirth everyones orders it seemed.
But all that aside everyone was polite the place is 'nice' the spa was limited but nice to have on site after a long day at a trade show.
Would I return.... maybe, it was well priced but I think some standards need to be addressed to get its 4 star rating to be honest. I looked after hotel chains and it was a little lack lustre.
