Banyan Tree Bintan is a touch of paradise. The resort is well maintained and has a wonderful location. All the staff are very friendly, always smiling, and are extremely helpful. Our overall experience as Banyan Tree Bintan was first class and we will definitely return for another visit.
Large and comfortable luxury rooms. excellent full time service by very nice and happy people. Green jungle surrounding us. Beautiful pitoresque beach in the bay. Excellent food & dining choices in the resort and around. Good water fun and sports facilities. Competent and smilling hosting by Brian and the rest of the resort team. World class SPA facility!
We highly recommend Banyan tree in Bintan. We stayed there 2 days and had a wonderful experience. Very well located and amazing service. Special thanks to Omas who made our trip unforgettable - he was an amazing guide throughout our weekend! very professional and extremely kind to us.
We’ve been to the Banyan Tree twice now. The first visit was back in October 2017. We had a five day stay at Banyan Tree Bintan as a family of four staying in a two bedroom ocean view pool villa. This was ideal for our family, with the kids effectively have their own room. This won’t be suitable for young kids as you cannot hear them as the two bedrooms are separated by the open area. The villa set up was as good as expected - a nice private area with its own infinity pool to enjoy overlooking the setting sun. The kids loved playing in the pool. Good outdoor space including plenty of shelter from the sun and a nice comfortable bed. The outdoor ‘cold tub’ was nice too when it was hot. Each bathroom also has an outdoor jacuzzi bath. Perhaps slightly more modern and used more regularly would have been an outdoor shower. We visited the three restaurants in the hotel as well as the beach barbecue at the neighbouring Angsana. The overall impression was that the food, whilst of overall good quality, is overpriced and the prices wouldn’t be out of place in downtown Singapore. My steak at the Cove was absolutely fine, even if the presentation was a little bit fussy. Strangely, we were the only people in the restaurant though in a resort that was supposed to be booked out. If you want atmosphere Saffron was definitely better. I was disappointed with my sea bass main at Saffron as it was dry, but he sauce was full of flavour and the rest of the dishes the family had were good. Service was always extremely attentive. The breakfast buffet was as expected and certainly kept the kids happy. The kids enjoyed the beach which is by the nearby Angsana - various paid water sports are available there too but we didn’t partake. The pools were fine but tbh aren’t that much bigger than the pool in the room. Our biggest disappointment was for my wife who has coeliac disease and therefore requires gluten free food. Now they coped with this well at all meals except one. On one morning at breakfast she asked for gluten free cereal as usual. The server came with a bowl which was different from previous mornings. We double checked and the server was adamant that they were gluten free. Well, they weren’t and she was sick for the day. This spoiled an otherwise restful few days. We naturally complained but only at the end of our break and after some to and fro, ended up with a free night with evening meal and breakfast. After our experience before my wife was reluctant but as I write this on the ferry we have just experienced a relaxing quick trip with the family. We had no gluten issues this time - staff had clearly been briefed. We spoke to the manager, Nicholas, on departure. He explained that they post photos of all guests who have dietary requirements in all kitchens and he was most apologetic about our previous visit. A lesson for us is to trust our instincts a bit more. This is our first experience of a hotel in Bintan. It’s so convenient for a few days away from Singapore and we will no doubt come again. And coeliac’s, they can cope with you but be careful!
I have stayed with my parents for New Year Holidays and villa was very nice with enough size of swimming pool. Each villla has villa host, so you do not need to deal and prepare anything and they will help almost all. Mr.Brian was our villa host and he was very kind and friendly and he arranged all kinds of bookings, transportation and so on during my stay. They have 3 restaurants and i recommand Thai food and they also have nice sea food restaurant next to banyan tree. I am thinking to visit again with my friends family.
Came here for a reunion with five of my best friends and stayed here for a night as staycation. Yoga welcomed us at the ferry terminal and he was very nice, considerate, and funny. It was a great start to our trip. Check in was smooth and we rode the buggy to our villa with yoga. He walked us through the villa and helped us arrange dinner and spa appointments. The villa is amazing with the view of the sea and the jacuzzi in the villa was very nice. All the staff were very attentive and delivered quality service. Highly recommend for your next staycation!!
This is the place for a quiet weekend in a villa-on-stilts overlooking the sea, a private dip pooI and every luxury you need. The constant soughing of the wind and the expanse of the view as you sit in your patio watching the waves dash against the rocks - its endless ebb and flow - is mesmerising. The wifi is excellent, there is a buggy service on call, three restaurants that offer sea views and different cuisines and a terrific spa.The undulating terrain offers some cardio going as you walk to the beach, restaurants or back to your villa. Sunbathe, walk the shore, laze by the pool, sit in the patio with a drink watching sunrise or sunset, eat or play golf.
Great place to unwind. I liked it especially where most staff share our information on a timely basis, so we did not need to re-state our requests or situation to anyone who helped us. Among all the great staff, Yazhar was the champion. His greatest service made our stay a memorable one. There are some places they can improve, such as shower pressure and outside pool clearness. However, their good service can offset those.
Spent six nights at the Banyan Tree. The food was good and the service excellent. All the staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Our designated representative Artha arranged a complimentary birthday cake for my wife. He came in on his day off to supervise the surprise, along with Soni, Tommy and Edi the Housekeeping Team who decorated the room with flowers and a variety of creatures made from towels, before joining in the celebration. It was a delightful surprise. The food, whilst on the pricey side when eating there every day, was a good standard and well presented. Wisnu the restaurant manager and his team made our visit all the more pleasant. Relaxation around the pool was well catered for and the swimming in the sea enjoyable apart from the small patches of oil hidden in the sand on the beach. Not a lot that the hotel can do about that as it came from passing shipping way off shore, but they did provide the means to remove it easily. Overall a good place to relax and enjoy the sun.
A second stay here for my wife and I, the last being nearly a decade ago, in 2008. The good thing is that we didn’t need to deal with any bats in our villa anymore and the in-villa jacuzzi has been enlarged to a bigger (but still not practical) pool. However, what really gets to me is that the water pressure (and consequently temperature) fluctuates wildly during a shower, making every shower a bit of a game to avoid being suddenly hit with very cold or hot water. The terrible dial-up modem like internet connection will really test your patience – and perhaps, that can be seen as good thing, as we are less inclined to stare into our devices. Still, this is a rather basic need these days and needs to be very much improved. The food is mediocre at best, with coffee served at the restaurant that is worse than the Nespresso you’d find in your villa. We weren’t too pleased to unfold our napkin to find it teeming with ants as well. What Banyan Tree Bintan has going for it is its people, who are prompt and efficient with their service, and usually with a warm smile. That said, it’s the little things that matter and that’s where it falls flat. We don’t think we will be back again.
