I usually have a wonderful stay at this location but unfortunately not the case this time. After enjoying a long day on the road and exploring the MS coast we decided to head to the motel. Upon my arrival I went to my room then back outside to gather my luggage. Before returning inside the building we decided to sit outside for a few moments before going to bed. At 11:01 PM a security guard approached me and told me I needed to go to my room because I was not allowed to be outside after 11:00 PM. Slightly confused I just said ok. I’ve stayed at this location several times and have never been told I couldn’t be outside. There were other guest outside smoking and wasn’t approached by security to go inside. I decided to go by the front desk and ask when this new rule started. The clerk stayed the rule has been in place. During check in no one mentioned this policy nor is it any where in the check in paperwork. This may not be a big deal to some but to me it was very frustrating because it made me feel like I was a prisoner confined to my room instead of a paying guest. I understand you are trying to make guest feel safe with having security but there should be a better process at patrolling this policy. Yes, if a guest is being loud maybe go up to them and state we need you to speak quietly or we will have to ask that you go to your room or if you see a hobo on the property ask them to leave. This ruined the rest of my night and I’m not for sure if I would consider coming back.
