Is the best hotel in Bilbao for that price. It is clean and the staff is friendly. The breakfast is not bad. The location is very good. The room was good with enough space to put luggage but still having space.
The hotel is not in the most interesting part of the city, but it was close to the bus station, so it was very convenient. It's part of a chain so I knew what to expect and I was not disappointed: nice room, clean, nice bed. Service was excellent, and they offered and prepared a picnic-breakfast for me because I was leaving really early in the morning. I was also offered a fresh-coffee. Very nice service.
wonderful hotel, great location, very clean and spacious rooms and very reasonably priced. Do not forget the breakfast. My wife and I spent a week in this hotel a year ago and we are planning to go back there again this year.
Stayed here for two nights on business and I can't complaint at all for the money paid. I think it's a great deal. The staff is extremely helpful and proactive. The room was big and very clean. Location is great with dozens of cafes nearby. Dozens of tapa's places also within walking distance.
Hotel Zenit is in a great location, immediately across the street from the last stop (La Casilla) of the tram line that goes around the city (it also stops by the Guggenheim and the Ribera market). Left out the door, another left, and you are on a main street heading downhill toward one of the major pintxos bar areas in the city. A few blocks further down and you are on at the corner of la Gran Via; turn right and you will eventually get to the old part of town, across the river. Cross Gran Via instead, go one block, and you are at a big park on the other side of which is the river; turn to the right at the park and you will get to the Fine Arts Museum in a couple of minutes' walk. Staff member Noemi was terrific -- super friendly, full of information and explanations, and helpful. My room was on the 6th floor -- no smoking, and away from street traffic. Completely adequate, tho the bed was a bit soft. A door opened on a small 'patio', so I could get fresh air at night. (Trip was 2nd weekend in December, with unusually mild temperatures - 19-20 C during the day.) A tub-shower, good sized bathroom. I appreciated being able to close the door between the bedroom and the hallway where the bathroom was and the front door -- that cut down on noises from the hallway. Only problems: 1) the cleaning staff use some sort of product with a 'perfumed' scent that makes me unable to breathe; I asked Noemi to ask them not to spray, and the 2nd day was better, but it must be in the cleaning products, because it was still in the room when I returned the 2nd afternoon. 2) the wifi turned itself off several times, and otherwise was sometimes so slow in connecting to webpages that I gave up. 3) I could hear someone snoring, perhaps one floor up? and the sounds of several people speaking, which could have been radio or tv, in a room next door. Advice to hotel staff: I had asked for directions from Bilbao airport and was told about 2 options -- taking a taxi (the taxi company webpage lists a price somewhat lower than what your email told me), or taking the airport-to-Bilbao bus and walking 10 minutes. There is a 3rd option which you might tell your guests or put on the webpage, for those who take that bus: from the bus terminal, go out the main exit (not up the driveway where the bus enters the terminal) and you will be in front of a tram station. Buy a ticket at the machine, time-stamp (validate) it, and take the tram in the direction of La Casilla = 3 stops. It takes 7 minutes once you're on the tram. Better than walking if one has suitcases to drag.
Easy access to everything: public transportation, attractions, and, yep, great tapas. Only three blocks away from tapas central-easy safe walk. Public transport around the corner. Clean, modern, and accommodating staff. Nice breakfast.
Hello, We had not realized how good public transit is from the Bilbao airport into the city. We booked this hotel because it was close to the car rental agency and we needed a night to recover from jet lag. We had a great one night stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a good menu del dia and we were able to walk everywhere. We were there in May and it was a great choice for us.
We chose this hotel because it was centrally located, within easy walking distance to the Guggenheim. Because of its location, it was also quite noisy. The free breakfast had enough choices. The room was medium-sized and had a view of the main street, it wasn't a tall building. The front desk personnel were friendly.
The Zenit Hotel in Bilbao is the perfect location for anyone interested in the sites of the city. The hotel sits across the street from the beginning/end of the tram line which will take you downtown, to the Guggenheim Museum or to a myriad of other interesting places. The staff at the hotel is exceptional! One of the young women at the front desk went with us to the tram ticket machine to help us purchase tickets! And the hotel was spotlessly clean. The hotel is also right across the street from a small park where locals congregate on Sunday evenings for dancing to the music of the Big Band era - with LIVE music!
The rooms are clean with lots of amenities and the location is excellent and an easy walk to many attractions. I had a room near the elevator which was pretty noisy. Other than that it was a nice hotel with a friendly staff
