We (4 girlfriends in our fifties) had a great 4 day stay in Bilbao. The fact that we didn't get to experience the famous Bilbao rainy weather may have had something to do with that. Our stay in the Zenit Bilbao was very pleasant. We liked the spacy, quiet room, the wooden floor, the nice bathroom. Full length mirror was present and there was a plug in the bathroom which fitted our hair-dryer, which is very exceptional. Breakfast was OK, nothing special but more than sufficient to get us on our way. The tram right in front of the hotel entrance and the metro right around the corner were very convenient. Most sights are within walking distance. If you have the time, do take the metro to Portugalete and cross the bridge to Getxo. We made a day trip of it and walked the bridge and took the "gondola" back. Really worth it. We loved Bilbao and its citizens: friendly, clean, warm, great food, walkable city. As experienced city-trippers, we recommend Bilbao whole-heartedly!
Stayed here for 3 nights for European rugby cup final and really enjoyed the stay. Very good location and a 5 minute walk from bus terminal where airport shuttle departs/arrives. Tram stop at hotel and a good variety of tapas bars in vicinity. Staff were very friendly and helpful and managed to accommodate our early check-in - Thank you! Room was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Would stay again and recommend for a good stay in Bilbao.
I've just been there on a two days trip to Bilbao with my girlfriend. The hotel was great! Everything looked so brand new, well cared and our room was spotless, huge and looked so nice and charming. We had a minibar, a kettle, a tea station and everything we could have asked for. In addition, our room's toilet was huge and so good looking. However, the gem of this hotel is its staff. It was such a polite, nice and laid back staff! they were so happy to help and went the extra mile when we asked them for something at all times. The hotel facilities are great but the staff was so professional and nice that, from my view, they were the ones who made my days in these hotel absolutely amazing and great. On the other hand, the hotel is quite convenient to major places like Nuevo San Mamés or Guggenheim, and if you feel like going on pintxos at the Casco Viejo (Old city centre) the trams stops right in front of the hotel, so there's no walking hassle at all : ) Overall, I would say that my days at this hotel were absolutely fantastic! I wish I could have stayed longer over there. If I'm ever back in Bilbao I will stay there. Greetings from the room 604 guys!
I went there on a trip to Bilbao with my partner over a couple of days. Everything was perfect! Everything looked so brand new and well cared of, and our room was spotless, huge and good looking! It had a minibar, a kettle and everything I could have asked for. Apart from that, the staff was fabulous! They were so polite, nice and laid back, and they were happy to help and went the extra mile every single time when asked them for something. On the other hand, the hotel is quite convenient to well known places like San Mamés or Guggenheim, and if you feel like going to the Casco Viejo for some pintxos you can get on the tram, which stops right in front of the hotel. Overall all I can say is that it is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. I wish I could have stayed longer there! If I'm ever back in Bilbao, I will definitely be back there.
Stayed here only two nights, not really long enough to appreciate Bilbao. The hotel was completely refurbished last year and they have done an excellent job. Nice room, quiet at the back, two large single beds pushed together (normal for Spain) but very comfortable as were the pillows supplied. Very good selection for breakfast including eggs and bacon plus loads of fruit, croissants and cold meats. Right opposite the hotel is the handy Euskotren tram system.....has a stop at Guggenheim at only @ €1.50 per trip bargain! Very pleasant and helpful staff on reception speaking excellent English! I can recommend this hostelry wholeheartedly. Had lunch on my departure day and the hake was cooked to perfection reasonably priced and they opened the restaurant early so I didn’t miss my bus!!
We stayed there for the second time. It is always a nice clean hotel. The staff helps as good as they can Great breakfast Parking at hotel is quite tight It is not in the city center but all is at walking distance
Positiv: location is central, parking facility is available but very small, nice staff Negativ: to expensive for the quality offered, very old presentation, expensive parking facility If you want to stay in Bilbao, there are better alternatives for the same price.
Nice hotel with tram terminus right outside the front door which takes you to all the attractions.stayed hear 4 nights for a great price of £60 a night for a double room. Hotel was very clean room fine and really nice and helpful staff on reception.
Stayed for one night due to a business trip. Staff was actually really nice and helpful with everything asked. The location is quite good from the center so you can walk to any restaurant if you feel like. Price wise is simply perfect. Room was clean and had a good size. I had some trouble sleeping due some changes in the temperature of the room at midnight but that was all.
Not very central, nothing special just a plain and functional place to stay overnight. Rooms face either the street or a back terrace both quite noisy. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Won't choose this hotel next time.
