Nice staff and comfortable and clean hotel. Breakfast has all sorts of choice, healthy, meat, vegetarian or sweet. The location is central with a great indoor market across the street. Would definitely recommend.

As I got to know the city, I'm glad that we chose Petit Palace Arana as the location can't be beat. It's next to the Old Town so restaurant choices and pintxo bars are abundant. Shops, landmarks and market are all within an easy walking distance. Just a short walk brings you to the newer side of town. We loved both the old and new parts of Bilbao! Pros: - Location was *perfect* for us - Room price was reasonable; a good value overall - Breakfast was good and cost was discounted by 2EU if you buy it the night before. The following day we ate at a wonderful place near the hotel. - Double room was basic but comfortable - There is a room safe, but I *think* you have to pay to use - Lots of lighting in the room - Basic toiletries are provided - Lots of shops (pharmacy, clothes, souvenirs, etc) near and around hotel - There are 2 bikes available for use - Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful - It was my birthday so the hotel prepared a couple surprises. It was such a sweet gesture that I really appreciated. Cons: - Bathroom was a bit narrow with few places to hang towels. Shower controls took a second to figure out. Very little counter space. - There was a perfume mister in the lobby which sprayed every few minutes. Unfortunately, I'm highly sensitive to heavy scents and perfumes so I suffered from allergies. The scent permeated pleasantly throughout the hotel, but it was too heavy in and near the lobby. - Our luggage was lost by the airlines so we didn't have umbrellas. The hotel had several umbrellas in the lobby, but we weren't allowed to use them. I guess they must have been stored there by other guests. Would be nice to have complimentary umbrellas. We was very happy with our decision to stay here. The hotel met our needs, but most of all, it was such a perfect location from which to make our base in Bilbao. If you're not looking for luxury but want convenience, I'd highly recommend Petit Palace Arana.

Due to a mess up over bookings Gari and Alex went above an beyond what was expected to ensure that our mistake didn’t impact on our trip. With the rest of the team Roberto, Sandi and Noelia we were made to feel so welcome. The hotel itself is ideal for the Old Town for an authentic Basque experience whilst the rooms are spacious and extremely well kept. If you are wanting to make your trip to Bilbao memorable then I would suggest that Hotel Petit Palace Arana is an inexpensive but high quality experience. Great buffet breakfast with many traditional and modern options

Given a tiny, dirty single room, with nowhere to put clothes. Double bed was against the wall, so would have had to climb over my wife to get to the loo! We moved to the Mercure over the river, which was far better. Fag Burns & scratches all over the furniture. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!

Me and my partner stayed recently for 3 nights on a city break. Welcomed by friendly staff on a very wet evening ! The hotel's location on the edge of the Old Town, makes it ideal for tourists. The room was a little on the small side with only minimal storage available, but was very comfortable. The breakfast was superb - having a very varied range of items. Would totally recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a very nice location, near the old town. If you go by car is quick difficult to find a place to park, you have to leave in the parking that is a little bit expensive but the best thing is the breakfast. Is very nice.

We went to Bilbao for 4 days and decided to stay in this hotel. We got there late (after 9pm) and we were welcome by two lovely members of the staff. We had booked a room for four, unfortunately they hotel was doing some work on that floor and we were given two rooms instead, one next to the other in another floor. Our children are 14 and 11 so they were very happy with that arrangement. The rooms were ok, nice bathrooms and a little fridge with drinks. We didn't stay for the breakfast but we found plenty of places to eat in the city. The only two things I could say I was a little unhappy with were.. 1- When we travel for short breaks due to to liquid restrictions in the airport we only take essentials and leave shower gels and other things behind. Every hotel we have been when we use them they get replace unfortunately they didn't until day 4!!! Which by them we already bought some in the city. 2- The fridge with the drinks.... everywhere when I have been and they had drinks, we never had to pay for them before but this hotel they fill the fridge up and after you get charge. A little Bottle of water 2€.. really???? A chocolate bar 2€ ??????. We had to drink and eat (which it was our choice) in the 2 rooms 3 bottles of water, 1 diet coke, 1 orange drink and a chocolate bar ..... 20.50€. Personally very expensive. The hotel was great apart for those 2 little points. We would definitely come back in the autumn to the hotel but I will be better prepared. We couldn't have wish for a better location, everything on your door and the people who work there are very pleasant and polite! Eskerrik asko.

We had two night stay to explore city. Hotel is very well placed by river and old town. The desk staff were helpful with local knowledge and printing out boarding passes. Rooms comfortable but basic and rather small. Didn’t have breakfast but plenty of cafes close by.

Having booked a two night break through BA for a steal of a price we did not expect too much. We knew the location from previous trips to Bilbao; opposite the Opera House. Expecting routine old town shabby chic we were wowed from arrival. Staff were fantastic and genuinely friendly especially Gari. We never made breakfast as we slept in but the work done to modernise this hotel is very well done. We'd go back tomorrow. As ever location, location, location.

We loved our stay here, friendly staff, brilliant location and lovely breakfast. Hotel is just stones throw away from all the bars and restaurants and nice 20min stroll to Guggenheim Museum. We would definitely stay at Petit Palace again. Oh, and complimentary Cava was a lovely surprise. Thank you
