Pros Clean. Spacious. Modern. Decent breakfast. Helpful staff. Parking garage right under hotel, but a little tricky to get to (you have to drive around the block to get to the entrance) Cons There is a nightclub in the back that is hopping from midnight till 6. You can hear people talking in the street. It’s louder than a train station. I checked the window thinking it was open. This is the reason why I gave a 2. Otherwise it would have been a 4. Ask for a room on upper floor and on opposite site of club.
We recently spent three nights at the Mercure Bilbao. It is a very good hotel, close to the old town, the shopping district and the Guggenheim. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well equipped. We had a room at the back of the hotel, which do not have a view, but are very quiet - there are a number of bars nearby and it may be that the rooms at the front may not be as quiet. We really enjoyed our stay and the fact that we could walk everywhere.
Staff is very kind, the hotel in general in nice, but the room was a bit disappointing in terms of light. Good location. The spa is nice, and breakfast is good! Love the general athmosfere, and the music at the bar! Lots of different people, from different ages and places.
Stayed at the Hotel for three nights over last weekend. I was the coordinator of a group of 18. We booked the hotel over 10 months ago. The hotel manager Mr Pons, along with every single member of his staff were absolutely fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for a better service. The hotel itself is just where you would want to be in Bilbao, everything within easy walking distance. The rooms were great, along with the breakfast The Spa is also worth a visit. When I visit Bilbao again, I will be sure to contact Mr Pons. I wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else. Thank You.
Excellent choice of accommodation, close enough to the city centre but far enough away. Well appointed rooms with excellent facilities if you feel the need. Only down side was the lukewarm food on offer at breakfast although this I believe is common ton Spain.
This hotel had a lot of little extras you don’t expect from a 4 star hotel. We had a Jnr Suite which had 2 rooms in a very quiet part of the hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Location is great - walk to most of the key sights and lots of food options within a 5 minute walk.
Had 4 very comfortable nights at this great hotel. Fabulously located and easy to get to all including Guggenheim, river, old town and more importantly in the Jardines of Abia. The staff were so friendly and helpful and I can’t fault them. Our room very comfortable and beautifully cleaned everyday. Would definitely stay again and love Bilbao.
Stayed as a family of 4. Great location close to the Old town and Guggenheim Museum. Spacious and very comfortable rooms with free wifi. Good and plentiful breakfast buffet and friendly and efficient staff.
This is a nice hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, room was clean and comfortable. Great location! BUT it is very noisy - both from other rooms and also the nightclubs and street outside. We tried different rooms, but we could not get away from some noise. Just be aware of this.
Centrally located, the Guggenheim is a 15 min walk as is the old town and there is a lovely little square beside the hotel with some great little restaurants. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, very modern, clean, crisp hotel with a great breakfast. However, as a light sleeper and being on bottom floor of hotel, my room was close to a nightclub which made the street very noisy as people enter/leave the club. I only experienced this on the Saturday night.
