Mercure Bilbao Jardines De Albia

Pretty much on par with my expectations from a Mercure. - Location is nice, close to Guggenheim, close to some nifty recent buildings that are interesting, a bridge worth seeing is close, and you can very easily walk to some famous pintxo places (Iruna in our case). What can be improved: - a (temporary) location to park the car while unloading luggage. - a hotel parking is proposed and easy to access from the hotel, not so much from the road. It does require some explanations. - the inside yard our window gave access to seemed to be littered with rubbish that from distance might be dead insects or cigarette butts.

Air conditioning doesn’t work in the rooms - so they are incredibly hot and stuffy. So hot that we cannot sleep. Hotel says “nothing we can do” and tells me that there is no hotel manager. Pathetic. I regularly stay in Accor brand hotels and have never encountered this low level of service. Will be cancelling my second night and looking elsewhere.

We stayed at the hotel over the weekend and we had a room on the street side of the hotel. There was a nightclub across the street. Due to the noise of the people outside we could not sleep at all. In the end I called reception and we were allocated another room.....only to be disturbed at 06:30 am by loud noises presumably coming from the kitchen. We will not come back.

We stayed for 3 nights in mid March and booked breakfast in our deal. The hotel us well located for all the main sights, 10 minutes from both the Guggenheim as well as from the old town. The hotel was spotless and had some of the friendliest staff we have encountered. It was also very well staffed in terms of numbers which was nice. It is a modern hotel with great facilities. The bar area is very comfortable and had a nice selection of pintxos and drinks at good prices.we loved the breakfast and the nice relaxing feel in the breakfast area. The bedroom was pretty standard in terms of equipment. But was very clean, great shower and generally well serviced. We stayed at our request on the 5th floor but because of the specific location, eg on a side street surrounded by high buildings the view was limited. There was weekend noise from a couple of nightclubs nearby exacerbated by us (our preference)having to keep our window open due to reduced air conditioning. Despite this we slept pretty well on the comfy beds. The hotel staff were very helpful with their travel tips and bar/restaurant recommendations and there were loads of great places within a couple of minutes walk. A nice touch was the container of umbrellas at reception for guest use as Bilbao does get its fair share of rain at this time of the year. Would highly recommend this hotel. Guggenheim was amazing 😘🍷

Nice hotel right at the centre to shops, cafes, bars everything you need and want. Hotel is nice and room is spacious as we were travelling as a family with 2 children ages 12 and 9.Staff were nice. Hotel can get a bit noisy if you are facing the bars or clubs so maybe if you are travelling with children you can ask for a quieter room. Only thing about the rooms are the Pillows!! Most travellers like fluffy large pillows. Our option was the long thin pillows or tiny square ones like for babies travelling bed. Better PILLOWS! If you drive or need parking for longer stay the hotel do give a discounted rate for the parking . Breakfast was good for European standard but can be expensive when travel with 4. You can easily have breakfast outside the restaurant many great places all around. Cinnamon across from the hotel is good or our favourite WICHE cafe bakery is the best about 6 mins walk away. TVs channels at hotel are foreign but on the local Spanish channel you can use the remote to change the language to original language. There is a Gym and Spa but we did not have the chance to try it out.

Hotel is excellent, BUT, if you want to sleep, you need a room at the back with no view. We started off in a nice room with a view; the noise from the night clubs started around 22:00 and went on until 06:30! The staff moved us for our second night and let us stay so we had a late checkout. Breakfast good and general ambiance really pleasant in a good location. Would not stay there again due to noise.

The hotel is well-located. Staff at the reception is friendly. The breakfast is OK, but staff there could be a little less talkative towards each other and more focused on the guests. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom is OK, but they have left the silicone so terrible that it is the only think you see when sitting on the toilet. The main problem is the noise: in front of the reception is a dancing or something. People outdoors make noise until the morning (like 5 a.m.). Because of the U-shaped floor plan, it is hard to get a room that does not suffer from that street noise.

Honest review. Hotel is in a great location. Very clean, comfortable modern hotel. Good selection for breakfast. Rooms were well equipped though needed lights on in daytime. Cleaned daily, comfortable bed so slept well. Reasonably priced well stocked bar. Hotel staff were all friendly and very helpful. Reception staff were excellent. Fluent in English if your Spanish is poor. Diego gets a special mention. Booking us a local fish restaurant went out of his way to help. Would highly recommend hotel. Great location to River and all attractions

Great location, friendly staff, spacy room and roomy double bed...spotlessly clean..we loved it! So many things to see and do in Bilbao. It's definitely worth a trip. We really enjoyed our stay. The food was nice too.

Nice, tidy hotel to stay for a shorter period. At this time a year very quiet and pleasant. An excellent location close to everything - city center. Guggenheim museum, the old town - and substantial breakfast are the crowns of this hotel.
