I love funky places like this one. Our room was more like a small apartment than a hotel room. It has a a retro cool vibe and we were happy with it. Large bedroom with fireplace and two baths which were a surprise. It has a kitchen and little living room with another fireplace. Not updated (which we liked) but very clean and bed was comfortable.
We would have given more stars however unfortunately there was a power outage in the area around 6 pm. The whole town was dark and we were very upset that the office closed and we were left without power and the hotel didn’t even check to see if we were ok or offer flashlights candles or lanterns. Not even a courtesy call (the phone in the room worked during the outage)
There was one weak flashlight in the kitchen but it was just really disappointing that we didn’t hear anything from staff. Power came back on around 2 am. At checkout I said it would have been nice if someone checked on the guests at the hotel and was told that the room had a flashlight and was dismissed. So.. I do recommend the place because the price is right and location is good and it’s clean and groovy :) .. just bring candles and flashlights and don’t expect much from the staff.
