The hubby and I had a fab stay here. It’s a great hotel with a very nice pool and spa. Our room was large and well equipped, the bed was huge and very comfortable and breakfast was good too! We didn’t eat in the restaurant as we have friends living nearby who we met up with, but we took a quick look and it was busy and looked great! We will be back maybe with the children next time to explore some of the sights in the area.
Spacious and well appointed throughout the public areas and bedrooms. Meeting rooms are all to a high standard. Staff are welcoming and helpful. On the pricey side but not that bad for the area, and you get what you pay for.
Lovely Hotel and friendly staff.Cold in the room and no blankets in the cupboards therefore cold nights sleep. Would advise to look for blankets before retiring for the night. Heating blowing out cold all night and could not alter.
This hotel is seriously average. The photos of the spa area look very good , however when you arrive it's not as good as you hoped , especially when it's busy. The pool was crammed there are only a few sun loungers so you can't sit and relax anywhere which was a real shame, the rooms were ok good for what you pay for. Dinner was very disappointing food wasn't tasty and a lack of service. All in all we did t have much of an experience and I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit this hotel
Great night stay with colleagues to attend Christmas party, enjoying a good rate. The party was well managed, the rooms were excellent and the feedback I got on experience was very good as well. I will certainly use the Spa next time.
We keep coming back to Donnington Valley as it suits our needs, total relaxation, very pleasant surroundings, everywhere is always clean and tidy, all staff are welcoming and good at their jobs. Stress free visit
Although "out of season" .... We still enjoyed both the course and the hotel facilities and would certainly recommend to others. Everything was Top Marks .... Although I felt it was more geared around couples
We stayed over New Year and enjoyed using the spa. We were lucky to be upgraded and had a super room. The bedding was super but my one niggle was the quality of the towels, not great and definitely need replacing as they let down what was otherwise a great experience.
One night stay with friends which included 3 course dinner and breakfast. Room looked dated and we were given an upgrade after complaining the shower screen was not doing it's job with the bathroom floor covered in water after a shower (our friends room was the same). Waited at the bar for at least 5 min for someone to serve us, no apology from the miserable looking barman when he finally arrived. For the dinner we all ordered beef Bavette and although our friends and my partner said theirs was only just warm, I asked for mine to be returned as I felt it was just not hot enough to accept. The 'hot' deserts arrived and all had to be returned as they were also cold. Paolo the restaurant manager was very apologetic and helpful however the staff that served us looked miserable and gave the impression they would rather have been somewhere else. All-in-all a pretty disappointing stay and a venue we would not recommend. Paolo and the duty manageress on our arrival were lovely but apart from that, not impressed and would not go back again.
Thi is the third New Year's Eve event we have been to and I think th best. We opted for the buffet menu and stayed overnight. We were given an Executive Suite which was extremely comfortable. The choice of menu was superb and th food delicious. The only down side to the entire stay was the layout of the dining room. The layout was Captain's table style. We went as a couple and were placed on a table with a party of 8. Although the people were very nice we felt we were gate crashing their celebrations. We would have much preferred a table for 2. Otherwise a very enjoyable time.
