Ramada Encore Belfast City Centre3.0 out of 5.0

I stayed here in September, the hotel is very nice and the staff friendly. My only gripe is that my room overlooked the dual carriageway and woke me up during the night. The shower is great, the drainage could have been better. I would ask for another shower towel and use this to keep the water at bay. There are minimal shops in the vicinity and they close by 8pm and mid week most restaurants close by 9pm! The hotel has free wifi and this can be accessed from your room.
I expected much better from a Ramada. The first room stank of cigarette smoke, I was given I new one. While it was clean it was very poor in furnishings. Couches on both rooms were worn to bare leather, beds are hard and springy, and decore belongs in a university dorm not a relatively expensive city hitel with a good name. Breakfast was cold and tasteless (eggs and bacon) and tea making was an exercise in confusion. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the hotel was a let down. Also booking showed they had parking, they do not, and adjacent car park is very hard to get a space.
This hotel is ideally placed near the centre of town. The staff are welcoming and try to be helpful. The plus points end there. As previous reviewers have said, the rooms are hot, there is no air conditioning or way of adjusting the temperature other than opening a window, which brings a new set of problems: noise and light. Worse of all is the complete lack of sound proofing in the rooms. All night long we could hear doors opening and closing even when it was done quietly.
If you have ever stayed in a holiday inn express. It's just like that. With slightly posher reception and restaurant area. So as long as you don't expect a wealth of facilities and plush carpet, you probably will be very happy. Breakfast is equally average but just about functional. Only a few cereal types, some hot stuff and token continental selection. Only real complaint is the temperature in the rooms which is rather toastie. I'd stay again if I had to, it did the job.
We stayed for one night as a last minute booking for the weekend in Belfast. Room and bathroom were great size and clean. I thought I was going mad complaining how warm I was in the room, however after reading other reviews I feel a little more sane re my overheating. Tea and coffee facilities in the room and the free wifi worked great. My initial thought was it's expensive for what you get, but on reflection - it's probably on par with pricing around Belfast. We had no issue with noise - even with windowopen for air circulation. We went for a wander for dinner and drinks so can't comment on what Ramada had to offer but it looked very busy so I assume it's more than reasonable. We didn't have breakfast there so unable to comment on that too. The staff were probably the standout for the hotel. Friendly, helpful and welcoming. Found parking pretty easily on the street. Would probably stay again.
We actually picked this because we were arriving late on the ferry and need to stay a bit later in the morning to do laundry. All the booking sites say they have 'laundry facilities' or 'family laundry' but their actual site says 'laundry services' and when we talked to them on arrival they told us they only did send off services. They were able to direct us to a decent nearby laundrymat. They didn't have any larger rooms for our group of four so we ended up booking two rooms. Breakfast was in the hotel restaurant and was a cold/hot buffet style.
This hotel just keeps getting better and better.. stay here every time we visit Belfast.. Shaun was so welcoming when we arrived nothing was a problem 😃 we have now booked here for two nights in October.. all the staff is so helpful and friendly nothing was a bother esp making the wee French martini's 😃 thanks folks see ya in two weeks time 💃🏼
Very good, room well appointed and large. Small but functional bathroom. Only complaint was the breakfasts were like a bun fight, not enough room in the self service part of the dining room and not enough tables to seat all the customers.
My husband and I were booked into this hotel by our tour operator. The hotel was clean, bright and comfortable, but it did lack some finer points, it was more like a premier Inn, which are brilliant for short or overnight stays. I am sure in the summer, when it would hopefully be warmer weather, there is no air conditioning in the rooms and the windows which did slightly open, were facing onto the motorway!!! I must say the ala carte menu was excellent, food delicious, but we were surrounded by a coach trip, which had obviously got a set menu, if the more expensive is taken, there should be a quieter area for such!
This hotel was chosen by the tour we were on, it is a clean hotel with comfortable rooms basic but ok for the stay. The restaurant was at times a bun fight in the morning for breakfast and the evening meal off the alle carte was spoils bythe restaurant full of a coach party dinning of the buffet.
