The hotel was very business like - and full of bling - the service was okay - you can walk to the subway and to walmart in maybe 10 minutes

The hotel didn't have my reservation record and didn't allow me to check in even after I showed them a copy of confirmation. It took them hours to find my reservation record before I was allowed to check in.

Thank you so much for the kind cooperation in maing my stay very pleasant and enjoyable.

Laundry service expensive exallent location booked myself would stay again

Comfortable stay at effective cost. Right in the centere of city where the local guides can pick you and you can start your tour.

The hotel is located in good area and is definitely good for the value you pay. Room was a bit smaller but very clean.

The hotel staff was not friendly at all, except the concierge staff. When we first arrived, the front desk staff made us feel like we were an inconvience. I can understand the language barrier, but making us feel unwelcome arriving and leaving was very unprofessional from someone that has been in the customer service industry. The hotel is located in an older part of Beijing. I would not recommend this hotel.

The good: The hotel is a 5-7 minute walk from a train station that will connect you to just about any attractioin in 30 minutes or less. I'm a walker so I was able to walk to most places in 1hr or less... The room was clean and comfortable, a robe, slippers and two bottles of water were provided daily. I was also brought up a converter and iron/ironing board witin minutes of asking for them. The one assistant manager who did speak English (she was the only one who spoke more than 10 words) was lovely and treated me like a friend. The Bad: Contrary to what it lists on the Hotel and Orbitz website hotel shuttle service to/from the airport is not provided. The hotel was under construction as was the builing next to it so my view was of a construction site and if I ever was in the room between 9-5 I could count on hearing driling/hammering. The "concierge" service involved sending you to the hotel business center where you could look up and book your own tickets online and then be charged for using the computer. Credit cards were not accepted anywhere in the hotel...not even for the deposit. If I had stayed in anything less than a four star hotel I would not have been so taken back by the lack of English speaking staff but considering this is listed as a four star hotel I had a very hard time communicating my needs. Think twice before you stay here if you'll need any help with anything outside of checking in or out!!!

The Guidu hotel seemed to be well represented by its photos and listed amenities except for their bed size. It was in a reasonably good location with the closest metro station less than 0.5 miles. The room was very clean but pretty small. When I first walked in the room I noticed, of course, the double bed when I had clearly booked a king bed. I went back immediately to registration and after calling the manager and a few other staff members in they told me that their king bed was really a double size. We got a reasonable rate but my booking was still based somewhat on the king bed I usually reserve. The little English they could speak was polite but it didn't help my concern with the bed and I wasn't in the mood to argue the case. I had already shown my reservation details. So we let it ride. Otherwise when we needed help the staff was mostly helpful. Before arriving I had called to ask about booking a Great Wall tour from there, which they assured me they could help with. However, once there they didn't seem to know anything about that service. I ended up going down the street a few blocks to a travel agent that helped me. I was overall satisfied with the Guidu because I got a good rate for booking early. I would have been much less satisfied if I had paid their standard rates.

we stayed at guidu for 8 days 7 nights. generally ok. the standard room with king bed is very small but cosy enough with standard amenities. only drawback is the tiny wardrobe not suitable for visitors with lots of luggage. hotel staffs are generally helpful even though they lack knowledge on directions to go for places in beijing. they still offer to find out from maps for us. theres money exchange done at the counter but to our dismay, first day they told us they dont accept singapore dollars when they show a list of exchange rates on the board with singapore dollars exchange rate! this was settled after we express great annoyance to the counter staff whom allowed us to change only $200 singapore dollars a day! that is cearly a loyt of inconvenience caused here as most places only accept cash payment! distance to the nearest subway station, cai shi kou is rather far. definitely not 5 min as in their hotel website, its a dread after a long day out. i should say overall experience is average but good value for $$ though as the room is small but comfy.

This hotel is GREAT! Convenient location to all we needed (both train stations, sights, shopping) and it's a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT price for the comfort you get inside! The room was immaculate, modern, and had tons of extras we weren't expecting. The only issues were that the staff didn't speak English very well if at all so we struggled a little with figuring out the issue that they had not yet received our reservation information [...](we booked the night before we arrived). However, they eventually figured it out and even let us check in early! The business center leaves a lot to be desired. There is one computer with internet and often the staff are using it (seems like it might be one of their primary computers and guests using it are bumping workers from their seats). I'm sure there is an internet cafe nearby, just didn't have time to look. Overall, I have stayed a lot of places in China - even The Palace and The Hilton in Beijing and this is right up there with one of the nicest hotels - definitely the most value for your $$!

The hotel was very upscale and modern, the rooms were well furnished and the bathrooms were marble finish. The staff was very friendly but few spoke English. It was a long walk to the subway but I would stay again. A+A+
