I booked to stay at this motel for 2 nights - arriving on a Sunday evening. I recieved a phone call at about 5.45pm asking where I was as she was wanting to close up reception. I told the receptionist I wouldn't be arriving until 8pm. She then proceeded to tell me that she would charge the room to my credit card - I said this was not to happen as I was paying cash on arrival. She kept trying to pursuade me to pay on credit card otherwise she would need to stay back. I said I would be paying cash on arrival, at about 8pm. I also checked that there would be a microwave in my room - as I had requested earlier in the week. She was quite obviously angry she would be staying back. On arrival at about 7.45pm, I then copped an absolute gobful from the receptionist because she had to wait to hours for my arrival, that they don't have 24 hour reception etc. I was quite taken aback by this considering my confirmation email said reception closed at 9pm! I was there well before 9pm. I paid for my room, and it was then that she realised that she had not put the microwave in my room - as requested twice. I then had to assist her with this - something that should not be up to the patron to be doing! I finally got to my room at 8.45pm. I would also point out - that there is absolutely nothing on their website stating what time the reception closes, and in fact states it's 24 hours. Perhaps fix the website and confirmation emails so furture patrons are informed and are saved the abuse like I recieved. I did email the hotel prior to leaving a review - with no response. Absolutely terrible customer service. NEVER AGAIN!
The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower pressure was amazing and instantly hot. Location was very convenient to shopping centre. Continental breakfast was very good. The staff were professional and friendly.
Good accomodation for an overnight or short stay. Great location, easy 5-10 min walk to Main Street of Bathurst, surrounded by nice cafes, restaurants, pubs, bowlo/ Bathurst panthers and the Theatre.. room was fine, looks like it has been modernised a little. Very clean, parking right out front. Receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, easy check in/ check out. Our only complaint was the shower - we pretty much couldn’t use it because there was little to no water pressure and it was either boiling hot or cold, couldn’t get it right. But the place was full when we stayed so maybe it was due to lots of people using it at the same time. Overall it was a pleasant surprise for the cost!
My sister and I shared a twin room here when we overnighted enroute to a family funeral in Canowindra. My sister has stayed at this motel before; it was my first visit. We arrived around 20:30 and were met by Luke who conducted check-in in a friendly and professional manner. Getting two room keys was not a problem. The motel advertises 24 hour check-in (not 24 hour Reception) so if you intend arriving after about 20:00 please check how you will get your keys (there is a keysafe outside Reception so I imagine keys are stored here and you are advised of the combination). We were allocated Room 25 – which we were told was a recently refurbished twin room. The room, which was accessed via a short flight of stairs, was very clean and well-presented. There was a Queen-bed and a single bed. A table and two chairs were supplied (so if there are three people staying in the room someone will have to stand or perch on the end of a bed), as was the usual refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities. A toaster is also provided. The room was air-conditioned. The television is mounted on the wall above the table. The bathroom comprises a very large shower stall (with a luxuriously large shower-head), towel-rail and toilet. Water pressure and temperature were fantastic. The washbasin (“vanity”) and mirror are, curiously, located outside the bathroom near the refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities. The refrigerator door is hinged on the wrong side and this, combined with the vanity, means that to access the refrigerator you must stand in the sleeping area of the room, pull the door back towards you and then reach over the door to try and reach the shelves required. I found it odd; those with short arms or a disability may find it impossible. There were Roman blinds on the bedroom window – a welcome change from curtains that “don’t quite meet in the centre” (very common in budget hotels). The Queen bed had two bedside tables – the single bed had none. As there were only two of us, I dragged one of the bedside tables over to the single bed however if the room were occupied by three people all of whom needed a bedside table they’d have to “draw straws” (or drag a chair over to the bedside, thus unseating one of the other occupants of the room, LOL). I would suggest management invest in a bedside table for each single bed as well as an extra chair to ensure all guests can eat at the table. There are lots of power points. There is free Wifi – access code is provided upon check-in. I found the mattress in the single bed to be quite hard, however this is entirely a matter of personal preference. My sister had no complaints about the mattress in the Queen bed. From a brief inspection of the wardrobe, it appears extra blankets and pillows are provided. A complimentary breakfast is served in the dining room. It comprises plain yoghurt, muesli, fruit, tea, coffee, toast and preserves. Provision of both low-fat and regular milk is a thoughtful touch. Despite being situated close to the heart of town, the motel is in a quiet location. For those arriving late and without a car, there is a Red Rooster outlet around the corner if dinner is required. Overall, this is a clean, well-presented, motel in a quiet location close to town. I would stay again.
Last minute booking to attend a function. Comfortable, clean & updated room. Shower great. Staff very helpful with late arrival & good breakfast included in the price. Would stay again if visiting the area.
Reception desk so helpful and pleasant. Lovely breakfast space for our family to sit together. Comfortable room, with separate space for kids. Easy walk to the shops and restaurant strip. Simple, clean, convenient, comfortable overnight stay. Thank you!
Very clean, friendly staff & easy to navigate their booking site. Nice continental breakfast. Well located to historical centre, town centre, museum & gardens plus the wonderful good outlets in George Street.
Travel from Sydney to Dubbo after a hospital visit. Break up trip. Check in good. Bed comfortable. Room a little cluttered with too much furniture. Staff good. Breakfast included and was sufficient. Only lost a point for the stairs. Virtually all rooms on an upper level. Location great. No road noise.
Great place to stay, bed was comfy, breakfast was yummy, Pool was refreshing on that hot summer morning. Staff showed excellent customer service. check in & check out a breeze. Jug/Kettle in room could do with an upgrade. Everything else 10/10.
Overall it's quite good value. Like most Bathurst hotels, they're all aging so expectations are always low for trips to Bathurst but it was good value for money. Room was clean and the bed was comfy. Good TV channels. Reception staff for check-in and check-out were great. Very friendly. Good block-out blinds too. Negatives were the public rubbish bin was located outside my room (room 10) so there was a constant stream of tenants depositing empty bottles/rubbish through the night and even worse, early morning. Parking is good too although not undercover. It does appear however to be secure.
