We had just spent a few dayts in Bath. and chose the last day of our trip for my wifes birthday at the lovely George Inn.
We received a warm welcome from the staff and we were in The Wells room located in the building opposite called the Plaine.Thne room was a good size a slight smell of damp but can only assume that is down to the age of the building. The room was clean and well lit plenty of lighting from the windows. Only two tea bags and two coffee pods a few extras would be nice for the morning.
We had dinner pre booked for 7pm and had a drink at the bar first. A good selection of alcohol free drinks for my wife. Dinner was very enjoyable I had beetroot tart tatin too start my wife the trout, then the pork and my wife the steak. We finished noff our meal with sticky toffee pudding and a bramley choux bun.
Breakfast next morning was lovely a full english for myself and my wife opted for avocado on toast with bacon instead of egg.
This is a truly lovely location and we do recommend this hotel.
Our second time staying at the George Inn and Plaine. The staff is always welcoming and pleasant. The pub and dinner was excellent, as was the breakfast in the morning! If I could give the staff 6 stars I would have…

A beautiful hotel with lots of extra special touches. The room was great and the breakfast was excellent. Friendly, helpful staff made all the difference.
A fabulous stay in a magnificent old period building.
The location was picture perfect and superb views from the garden at the rear, lovely spot to have a drink in the sunshine. The food was first rate and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Only 15 minutes from the 'park and ride' into Bath. We'll definitely be back.
Staff were amazing and we were very well looked after. Food was delicious - overall had a lovely stay and catch up with friends. Would thoroughly recommend staying and hope to come back again soon.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED our trip to this BEAUTIFUL little medieval village and TOP NOTCH HOTEL. Full of history, loved slow pace of the town, relaxed. Everything about the hotel was well-preserved and restored (retaining history).
I brought my friend here who was visiting from Australia and you didnt disappoint! Fabulous! Everything was absolutely perfect. Such a nice touch having the radio in the room too. Delicious dinner and breakfast.
Fantastic pub perfect for a romantic night away. Run by a fantastic team we had such a warm welcome which is an LGBTQ couple is always a lovely. Food was great, room was beautiful and of course the building really is something special.
Brilliant from start to finish. Excellent service, lovely unique and well furnished rooms. Very quirky, felt 5 star! Everyone was kind and attentive, and all the freebies was above and beyond
