Staff were not well trained. Some were very friendly & made an huge effort (concierge), others nice but just not well trained, but I heard one senior receptionist being rude to another guest.
Hidden / badly advertised charges everywhere: parking (public car park management ch cheaper), spa use outside off-peak-hours, £5 ‘tray charge’ for room service.
Room nice but incongruous failings: Phone in room so old almost unusable, key-holder in room falling off the wall.
Bizarre that a hotel restaurant should not open for 2 days per week, including Sunday night (and Monday.) This is not a cheap hotel, so these shortcomings not acceptable.
