The hotel was very nice, staff was friendly. Beautiul themed rooms and great location. When we checked into our room there was a dirty washcloth on the bathroom floor. I did report this and they removed it. Beds were comfortable and restaurant was nice.

We stayed for two weekend nights. Our room was compact (compared to most American hotels) but beautiful. The A/C worked great, it was quiet, and the beds were so comfy it was a pleasure to snuggle up in them after a hard day of sightseeing. Beautiful crisp sheets, abundant pillows, fluffy duvets--plus big terry robes and giant bath towels. A little expensive but such a luxurious experience that it was well worth it. In spite of a full-on weekend boules festival going on outside, with bands and food trucks, the room was quiet and restful.

The Francis was in a great location. We were able to walk anywhere we walked to go. Andrew, the concierge, was awesome! Extremely friendly and helpful. He made our trip with his eagerness to help. The room was comfortable. Had a few issues with made service forgetting to leave enough fresh towels or change out the kleenex dispenser when it was empty. Breakfast buffet was nice, but pricey.

The hotel was exceptional. Rooms were wonderfully decorated and beds were ultra-comfortable. Great breakfast with multiple choices. Highly recommend hotel with perfect location in center of Bath.

This hotel was far more upperclass than I anticipated. Was quite daunting when first arrived and was greeted. Very polite employees at the front desk were fast and efficient with their work. Was a bit of a maze to get to our room, but as this is a very old building (but kept very up to date), it was understandable and interesting to experience the historic nature of the building design. The room itself was gorgeous! A painting on the ceiling above the bed was strange but cool to look at when laying down. Bed was very comfortable too. Bathroom was fantastic and had a Roman Baths wall cling for the entire shower wall which was very cool to see. After adjusting to the more sophisticated atmosphere than I've ever stayed in before, it was a wonderful stay. Front desk greeted and said goodbye every time we came and went, even asking after our walks around town and striking up real conversations. Was an overall wonderful experience.

This hotel is what you expect with a quality hotel. The detail in design of the hotel is so quaint and an art of work in itself. The room was a bit small but that may be because we paid for the standard room. Our shower was clogged and we couldn't take a proper shower unless we wanted to flood the hotel room. Besides that the concierge, Andrew, was amazing. He told us exactly what we needed to know and this is what you expect with good service. So that made up for the room.

The location is very central of the city and very close to everywhere. The room is small but nice. The stuff is extremely friendly and helpful.

The room was comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. On the other hand, for the amount of money we paid, the room was fairly small. Also, the shower water tends not to stay in the shower, but that was just poor shower design. The shower did have a beautiful view of the Roman baths printed on the wall.

This was a most charming Hotel. Great staff that made you feel very welcome. Good Value and quality for the price. Would go back for sure!!!

Very convenient location on Queen's Square, able to catch the city tour bus at the corner and walk to restaurants and shops. Nice hotel staff and lovely old building.

Even if this hotel had the lowest star rating of all the hotels we stayed at during our trip, we nevertheless had a good experience at the Mercure and were very happy with our stay. We would certainly return on another occasion.

My daughter and I just loved the hotel. It was a short walk from the train station and very nicely located near all of the attractions we wanted to see. Staff was great and the room was very comfortable. I would stay again and highly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay at a very affordable price. Breakfast was superb!

We have visited Bath several times but this was a new hotel for us. It was within walking distance of the rail station but we took a cab which was very economical, plus the cabbie recommended a French resturant very near the hotel. The lobby of the hotel is old but our room was wonderful. Completely renovated and looking out at the square which was great during the day. The location was fabulous!!! Everything we wanted was within walking distance. Service was great. This was a great hotel, clean and centrally located.
