We've had a great stay in The Edgar, friendly staff, location is faultless for Bath city centre, delicious breakfast, all the decor is well finished, super comfy bed, no noise from surrounding properties, would thoroughly recommend!

Had an upstairs room which is quite a trek but they warn you well in advance and before booking of that! The breakfast is good with enough options. The biggest problem for us was the heat in the room, the window would only open a certain amount and the room was very uncomfortably warm. On the third night we managed to get the on duty manager to open the window further using a tool he had but I did wish they had mentioned it earlier as it was not obvious from the window that it could be opened further. Location is absolutely fantastic.

Beautiful place to stay about 10 minutes walk from the Abbey. Location could not be more perfect if you want to visit Bath. The beds were wonderful with a really comfortable duvet. Windows only opened a few inches, but there was a fan in the room. Not sure how comfortable it would be in July, but was heavenly in May. Nice shower with great toiletries and a towel warmer. Friendly, helpful staff and a GINORMOUS breakfast offering. 5 kinds of cereal, decaf coffee (you don;t want to see me caffeinated). A menu from which to order full English breakfast with free rename eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes, and potatoes. Vegetarian breakfast and other offerings available. Breakfast alone is probably worth 20 pounds, so the steep 150 pounds for 2 for a night is not so steep after all Actually very reasonable for Bath. Quiet road, easy parking with a placard from the hotel. We arrived the same day the bicycle Tour of Britain was here, so the road was completely blocked. The hotel actually emailed me a couple of months ago to let me know and suggest alternative parking arrangements for the day while they were blocked. Very proactive. The website talks about a fifth floor and no lift--and they were quire correct! The star helped us up with our bags (Thank God!), and we actually got pretty used to climbing the 60-odd steps by the time we left 3 days later. But ask for a lower floor if stairs are a problem for you. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back

Good location under 10 minutes walk to The Abbey. On a wide boulevard with little passing traffic and no late night "merriment" to bother you. Standard room small but perfectly comfortable, with clean new furnishings. No wardrobe or air-con and a long climb up the four or five flights of stairs to some rooms as no lift. Breakfast was of very good quality with good choice in pleasant dining room served by courteous staff.. Street parking available for £8, but you might have to search a bit for a vacant space. The price is more than I would expect to pay for a B & B, but this was Bath on a busy weekend so not unreasonable. I would use it again when visiting Bath

Bath is quite expensive to stay so £119 per night for B&B here was, I thought, a good deal. Staff were friendly and efficient. Room was adequate for what we needed. Stayed 2 nights (standard room) would choose a bigger room if staying longer though. Good selection of tea in the room with lovely biscuits which were replaced as was the complimentary water. Breakfast was very good. Nice choice available. Good coffee! Would recommend and would return.

My pre booked airbnb cancelled the day I was due to arrive in Bath. A friend had emailed me a list of possible accommodation and the Edgar Townhouse had a great deal on with availability. I was very happy with my choice. Located very close to central Bath and all the sights incl Roman Baths, Theatre Royal, Thermae Spa and Bath Abby. This was a no fuss option with a great breakfast, clean comfortable room. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for one night with my mum. From arrival to departure the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was small but nice and comfortable, with all the amenities supplied. Good to keep fit though as we had to climb 4 flights of stairs, not good for people who struggle with the stairs as there is no lift. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice. All in all very pleasant stay, and would stay again!

We stayed here for three nights at the end of March. The staff were wonderful especially the women amongst them, carrying suitcases, rebooking rooms while being friendly and cheerful all the while. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped , our basement rooms were a bit noisy during the day but really quiet at night. Breakfast was delicious with a hot breakfast menu as well as fruit, cereals and toast The Edgar Townhouse has five storeys but no lift also a large step up in order to enter the bathroom, these features or lack of them make it very difficult for anyone with mobility problems

Just returned from a 2 night mini-break in Bath and stayed at the excellent Edgar Townhouse, a very comfortable B&B. The location is perfect and for £8 (parking permit for the whole stay) the parking is excellent. Would highly recommend.

Spent a night there after watchin the rugby. Minutes from the ground but also city centre. Bath is not a cheap place to stay so in comparison was value for money. Room was well designed with a clean, contemporary style. Not the biggest room but everything was well designed and made the best of the space. Only thing I'd have liked was a small fridge as I hate uht milk. Happy to provide it on request though. Despite being on the street side it wasn't too noisy and slept well in comfortable bed. Would highly recommend it and will definitely stay again. Breakfast was high quality ingredients and good choice. Service was really good too.
