I am Radisson Concierge (i.e. have stayed A LOT at Radisson) and wasn't wowed by this one. Good - nice front desk staff Not so good - pool shut at 17.00 on a Sunday and doesn't open until 7.00 on a Monday. Business meetings happen at 7.30 in Switzerland - I would expect to be able to use a pool after 6.00am in Switzerland. Since the wellness was shut, I went to the Fitness Park across the street. It is fantastic (but CHF37 for a single entry). - rooms are a bit dingy, but pretty much Radisson standard - no upgrade, or meaningful recognition for being Concierge - breakfast was disappointing. Fresh orange juice (DIY) but the rest of the selection was ordinary. Only boiled or poached eggs (i.e. almost identical), no Birchermueseli. Nothing like as good as Zurich Radisson Blu - breakfast staff were downright bad. Bit rude, not hustling at all (after 15 minutes I had to stand up to ask for coffee, and even the person I asked refused to deal with it herself) Very convenient for the Altstadt and the station but I would not return. There are better options in Basel.
We're just back from a long weekend visiting Basel. We'd stayed in a radisson blu before in Berlin, so we had a good idea what level of service to expect and we were not disappointed. The staff are excellent, and Sebastian on the check in desk explained all about the free local transport for tourists and pointed out some of the interesting things to see. The room itself was spotlessly clean, but I'd say it was a bit clinical maybe, but I remember that the room in Berlin was of a similar style. Hotel is in a perfect location, close to the main shopping streets, cafes and bars and all the key things to see. Would recommend it if visiting Basel
The service was very good, room very comfortable and above all service from Jean at the restaurant was outstanding. Jean was very kind and he made sure that we received the best service every day. After the initial contact, he immediately knew our request and never forgot what and how we liked our coffee. Kudos to Jean and the entire staff at Raddison Blu.
The location for this hotel could not have been better. The tram lines are just outside the front door. It is also easily within walking distance of major attractions, and the train station. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. Would stay here again if in Basel.
Spent two nights here. Central location, staff very friendly and helpful, our room was well presented and the breakfast was great. Was the perfect place to be based for a weekend city break. Happy to recommend.
The staff are very kind and helpful. The rooms are clean and cosy. The hotel is located close to the centre. The Restaurant is good with a cuisine with balanced tastes and a creative touch without being pretentious.
Very nice hotel and rooms, very well located in Basel, very friendly personal, excellent breakfast, nice (big) pool and (little) spa. Check in/out at noon overcrowded since only 2 of 3 counters are open.
I have stayed in Radisson for one night in November. I found the hotel really nice. My room was spacious, modern and nicely decorated. On the more negative side, it didn’t have a nice view and the bathroom was tiny. They provide an excellent buffet breakfast.
We stayed at this excellent hotel whilst visiting basle in to attend a football match at st Jakobs Park . The radisson blue was brilliant. Very handy for city centre and main rail station . It has good links to Mulhouse airport . The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Room was spacious and very clean with a large bathroom. Bar and restaurant also very good . Room service supplied everything we asked for . All in all top class .
First impressions of the hotel are that it’s modern and clean. Check in was easy, with a very helpful and friendly lady on reception. We were fortunate to be upgraded to the junior suite, which had 2 rooms, 2 TVs, and more room than we knew what to do with. It’s perfectly located near the main train station and all the sights. The pool is surprisingly large, and a free sauna is always great. We would definitely stay here again.
