I stayed here to attend a meeting at the nearby convention center. The room was clean, spacious and stylish with dimmable lighting. Staff was professional. Breakfast was good. There is also a nice courtyard outside the gym. Two issues that could be improved is the gym which is under-equipped for its size and room service closes in the evening.
access and elevator floor were not clean. never understand. Others no problem. location is very good. near center, tram bus. restaurant is good and fully service. Room is large bath room is good everyday clean Thank you.
I’ve stayed here several times and the hotel is generally good. On this occasion I was initially given a room in La Residence, which is a separate block at the rear of the hotel. However, the area around my room had an exceptionally strong smell of bleach so I asked to move rooms. They were very helpful and gave me a much nicer room with a balcony on the top floor. Very good service. I generally enjoy breakfast here: freshly-squeezed orange juice with crust rolls, smoked salmon and a good coffee. Perfect way to start the day.
We stayed here before we left on our Viking cruise. Arrived after a stressful drive and the front desk people were so nice. They even asked later to make sure we had recovered. Alessia Kiefer and Nuno de Moura were the epitome of hospitality and service.
Very good choise for business travel. It is near to the city center! There is tram station outside the hotel. The breakfast is very good, the rooms are comfortable and all the staff of the hotel is very friendly and ready to help you.
Nice pleasant hotel with staff who were accommodating and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom functional and clean. The Reception staff gave us the Basel card to use for free transport and discounts to the museums which was really helpful.
I stayed here once already a few months ago and when I found out I'd be in Basel again, had to go back. The hotel is lovely and the staff are very professional. The first time I was put out in the garden building which I think only has 8 rooms. The room was very comfortably sized, had a great bathroom, and there was a bathrobe and slippers. I was up on the top floor and it was very quiet. This time I was in the main hotel, overlooking the main street (Clarastrasse) so it was a bit more noisy with the steetcar and bus traffic. But the room was equally elegant, just laid out a bit differently. Still lots of space with a comfortable bed and slippers. Wifi is also included. Along with a free pass to ride the transit system during your stay. The hotel has a bar/restaurant but, like most of Basel it seems, is pretty expensive. I went to the Coop store a few doors down and bought some things at the grocery store but there are lots of restaurants in walking distance. Apparently if you get off the main street you might be more likely to find something a bit more reasonably priced. You can also walk or take transit across the bridge to the other side of the river and check out the really old part of town, or walk to Roche, take transit to Novartis, etc. It's also only a 10-12 minute walk to the Bad Basel station (vs the SBB station which is a taxi or transit ride away). Breakfast was not included in my rate and although it was a great buffet spread, it's kind of steep at 27 Swiss Francs. I can't compare to any other hotel in town, but I'd definitely return again.
The hotel is one of the best in the Pullman city chain in my view: very well thought rooms (excellent bed, the shower is spacious and with good water pressure), the room is a perfect place to stay and rest. The breakfast does offer big variety, but each meal is delicious and overall ambience is very inviting. The gym is small but well-organised. The staff is supportive and the Accor loyalty programs works at it best. Each time I come to Basel, I stay in Pullman and never regret.
Fantastic experience from the time of check in to check out. The reception staff was welcoming and informative. We had a little hiccup with the payment when we checked out but when we queried the extra cost they looked into it right away without arguement and apologised for their mistake. I'd stay here again.
Definitely the best value for money of all the places we visited in Switzerland. Classic hotel design with attention to detail, spacious rooms and bathrooms. If they would add a splash of colour in the rooms they would be fantastic! Breakfast is varied and plentiful and the staff helpful. The location is very convenient, in the more modern part of the town but very close to the bridge that leads to the historical centre. Anyway tram no 6 ( that goes to the centre and to the Bayeler foundation) stops outside the hotel. Highly recommended.
