I have to tell you that we had a fabulous experience. We drove in Italy and this hotel has an underground parking area (The parking attendant was great and had our car ready when we wanted to site see the next day!) The people at the front desk were so very helpful and friendly especially Luigi who helped us with finding the attractions we wanted to see and the shopping mall I wanted to go to. We felt so welcome, at ease and comfortable. The room was really pretty, large with plenty of space for 2 large suitcases, all my shoes, and two carryons. It also had a small balcony with a partial view of the Mediterranean Sea. And what fun, the key to the room was like those old antique keys. What is also nice is that I like a quiet room and the elevators are separated from the hallways by a small sitting area with doors to the hallway. I like to ask for extras and see if the staff are willing to be helpful - You bet - they quickly and with friendly manner provided whatever extras I asked for The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom had an oversize tub, great for soaking after a long day site seeing and Did I mention that the location is perfect to see Bari, St Nicolas (yes Santa Claus) church, the port, castle etc And the restaurant right across the street which was recommended by the hotel - oh the food was really tasty and delicious And by the way we could have just eaten at the hotel's restaurant - oh the food and service were marvelous!! Fish so fresh it probably came from the port that day. There is also an outdoor terrace which unfortunately we could not dine on because after all it was October and the temp was just a little bit cool for me - But I imagine during the summer it must be wonderful with the night lights and view of the city I could just go on and on about all the great experiences we had staying here, but you'll want to quit reading and get a reservation quick so you don't miss out on this great hotel. Happy Travels
The hotel was in a good location, off the main streets. The room was large and comfortable, although a little dated. Extensive breakfast buffet. Easy walk to the old city center and port. Hotel restaurant was very good and had a terrace with a view.
the rooms would need an update they stayed "seventees" expecially the bathrooms the general atmosphere of the lobby is pretty dull, good point is the location in the center and very close to the "pictoresque" ol Bari "Barivecchia"
Writing from the hotel now. The hotel has a very convenient location-close to everything, we had a great service at the reception by a Italian lady Mima, she is naturally friendly and situated towards our needs.the room is clean and warm, in the bathroom I found a helpful bath-set with hair scrunchy and nail file ( it is so important sometimes to have this in your travels and you often forget these little tools ), the tv has many different canals with free movies in English and even a few in Russian, we also have a coffee machine at the room and good selection of teas, all in all I would definitely stay here again
After a long trip to get to Southern Italy the Palace Hotel was just what was needed. Friendly staff greeted us at check-in and helped us to our room. The room itself was of a standard size. The bed was very comfortable and had a great nights sleep. The breakfast (included) was excellent with a good array of food and all very tasty. Wifi included and fine, parking was extra (20 euros) underneath. Food in the restaurant was excellent but lacked atmosphere. The hotel is in a great location an easy walk to the old town and also the Castello Normano. The bathroom was clean, don't pull the cord in the shower (I thought it was for the fan) as this is an emergency cord, having said that reception called immediately to make sure we were OK. All in all a very pleasant stay
Stayed on 5th floor is standard room. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with great selection, and service (for Cappuccino) The top floor restaurant (Murat) was excellent. Great surroundings, views , and food. The service was excellent and fish dishes fresh and tasty. Great if you have been out all day and are looking for a comfortable venue with great menu choices.
Palace hotel Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was spacious,Clean, bed very comfortable, Shower great. Breakfast had a big variety and very good. 5 minutes walk to excellent Shopping, Old Town, Seafront, Port . Great Restaurant’s, amazing local foods.
Stayed here for three nights, great hotel very convenient to old town. Staff extremely helpful, great breakfast, brilliant rooms , a class act. Would recommend to anyone visiting this great city, everything for a great stay
In spite of generally favourable reviews here I cannot recommend this hotel. The location is excellent with just a five minute walk to the charming old city, similar to the best shopping and the seafront and with good restaurants nearby. There is also a garage. These, unfortunately, are the only positives. We spent two nights in a superior room which was a very misleading description. Everything was tired and in clear need of replacement and refurbishment including the dated bathroom. Service was equally disappointing. I mailed the hotel asking them to make a restaurant reservation for me and received no reply. Two days later I phoned to make the same request and I was told that they were too busy as there was a conference at the hotel. On checking in, I asked for a map of the city and again this eyore on the front desk said that this could not be provided as they were too busy hosting their conference. Bari is a lovely city and there must be somewhere better to stay.
I stayed at the Palace Hotel on two different occasions in September 2017. The hotel is conveniently situated, very pleasant and comfortable. There's a standout there and his name is Luigi at the front desk. Luigi is very professional and pleasant and his care for the client is evident in his every action. His genuine smile and helpful attitude transcends his concern for a guests experience. In addition, Luigi has perfect English and his knowledge of Bari makes him a tremendous asset for the guests and for the Palace Hotel. He was very helpful to me even after I was back in the U.S.
