Location: The Hotel Glories is in a great location for La Sagrada Família - its about a ten minute walk. It's a great location for the Metro, the closest station is Glories and again, it's roughly ten minutes walk. There aren't many nice restaurants nearby but there's plenty supermarkets. Rambla, the main shopping street is quite far from the hotel. 50 minutes walk, around 25€ in a taxi or 2,15€ each on the Metro (Glories > Catalunya on the L1 line). We used the Metro to get around the city. It's cheap, fast and feels quite safe. Staff: Reception staff are all lovely people who all share a great interest in you and are prepared to help you any way they can. Whether that's ordering you a taxi, calling restaurants and making reservations, advising you on how to get around, or even ordering you a Domino's. Check in: Quick and easy process. Check out: 1200 is the time and again, its quick and easy. If your flight isn't until later, you're welcome to store your bags in a locked room until later. Wifi: Fast and FREE! Safe deposit box: User friendly, keycard operated and SAFE! Room: I imagine there are different rooms, but ours was OK. The shower wasn't great. During the function of swapping bath tap to shower head, water would spray in all directions, soaking everything, so I just had baths. The room was small which was fine but there wasn't enough storage space for two people. Maybe the hotel should consider making it a single room and providing more coat hangers. We just had clothes laid everywhere. We didn't have a great view from the room, it was just a wall basically. However we didn't go to Barcelona to look out the window so we can get over that. I'd rate the room 3/5. It has everything you require to have a good sleep and get washed. Room service: Due to us having lots of expensive clothes and bags laid around all day (because of the lack of storage space) we didn't use room service. We kept the 'DO NOT DISTURB' sign on the door for the duration. Price: We payed roughly £265 for a three night stay which I thought was reasonable. I would want to pay much more for this hotel. Summary: If I returned to Barcelona, I'd consider staying here again. It's clean and in a good enough location get around the city with ease. I'd like to thank the staff there who made our stay very pleasant.
Hotel was clean and the staff were friendly helpful. Walking distance to Sagrada Familia and Place des Glories. Also a couple of small supermarkets are nearby. Not far from the Centre. Good value and would stay there again.
The Hotel was very clean and very well located, all the people were nice and helpful, definitely would recommend Hotel Glories. El Hotel tiene excelente ubicación y muy limpio, todo el personal muy amable, definitivamente recomiendo el Hotel Glories.
We recently stayed at Glories and found the hotel to be good value for money. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic and could have done with a mirror on the dressing table and tea/coffee making facilities. But the bed was comfortable (Mattress was quite hard but that was good for me), shower really powerful and the room was clean and quiet. There was a hairdryer, air-conditioning, TV and an easy to use safe in the room. We did have an issue with the bathroom floor flooding slightly when I took a long shower. Think the shower curtain material couldn't take the volume of water as it's really powerful. It also took a long time for hot water to come through and the taps had to run for several minutes until it warmed up. Breakfast was served until 10:30 and was a well stocked buffet. The hotel is located close to Sagrada Familiar and there are restaurants near by. The Metro is only a few minutes walk away but if you want to be close to the sea or gothic quarter area it will take a couple of metro trips or a fair walk to get there. Overall it was a nice stay, thank you!
Went to Barcelona recently for 3 nights to watch football. Needed a hotel that fairly central without paying extortionate prices and this was just perfect. Just a 10 minute walk to the huge cathedral, The Metro and bus tour stops. There were five of us but they didn't have any twin rooms so we all got a room each at no extra cost. Very helpful on reception. smallish rooms but enough room for one and very comfortable bed and excellent shower. Walls are quite thin so you can hear quite a lot in the morning but everything was very clean and tidy and I would highly recommend to others
We were pleasantly surprised at the good value & excellent service offered by this hotel. It is situated close to the Metro & with buses passing. It could be described as being very similar to a Travelodge in the Uk. The attitude of the reception staff both day & night was excellent. They went out of their way to assist you & always had smiles on their faces. The rooms were comfortable & clean. Breakfast was available downstairs but we chose top visit one of the many local eateries in the vicinity. Suitcases can be left under lock & key for later collection. All in all an ideal hotel for a short stopover.
Good value hotel with an easy walk to the Sagrada Familia and L'Auditori etc. The reception desk staff are very helpful and can book taxis if you need to travel further. No evening meals but the range of cuisine in Barcelona means that you can dine out at your leisure.
This is a smallish, but good hotel that is located in a side street just off the main 'Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes' road in Barcelona. It is only a few minutes walk to 2 metro stations and about 10 minutes walk away from the 'Sagrada Familia' church. It is an exceptionally clean hotel, with a lift, adequate breakfast room and a small bar. The rooms are of adequate size, with a good bed, a fridge, air-conditioning, reasonable size bathroom and free wi-fi. Breakfast was continental style, with eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. and a reasonable choice of bread, cereals, yoghurts and drinks, etc. The reception staff were both helpful and very friendly. Although this hotel is not directly in the city centre, you can actually walk there in about 40 minutes to "Las Ramblas" (which I did one evening and was easy to find). There are plenty of restaurants and places to eat within about 15 minutes walk from the hotel. I would certainly stay here again.
We stayed here for our 5 day honeymoon in Barcelona. Hotel reception staff very helpful. Decent sized clean room with fridge. Very quiet location. Sagrada Familia just 10 minute walk away, along with thriving bars, cafes and restaurants. We ate somewehere different each night. Continental breakfast at the hotel of cereals, fruit, juice, yoghurts, toast, rolls, hams, cheeses, cooked sausages/bacon/scrambled eggs. Dining room & housekeeping staff smiley and friendly. Air conditioning in the room and a safe for valuables. Great base to explore from. 2 x Metros very near - Glories and Monumental. Was a shame we had to leave yesterday.
Smallish hotel tucked away in a sidestreet, only a few minutes walk from either Glories or Monumental metro stations and less than 10 minutes walk from Gaudi's Sagrada Famalia so well placed for sight seeing and getting around. The accommodation was a good size (though bring coat hangers if you intend to hang anything up in the wardrobe as there were only 3 in ours). Plently of extra pillows and blankets in the bedroom. Breakfast was the expected continental buffet. Lovely staff, friendly and helpful.
