Excellent, excellent location....just minutes from Placa Catalunya where you are able to catch the metro, aerobus to the airport, minutes from Las Ramblas, Palau de la Musica, etc. Booked this due to recommendations from Rick Steves' tourist books. The reason that I can't give this a 5 * is due to their "smart rate-prepaid offer." According to their website and quoted exactly from their website at the time of booking, "Booking in advance is the best way to get the best available rates in this 3 star hotel Barcelona. The sooner you do your reservation, the better rate and room availability you will get....Offer only available for XL and XXL rooms and for a limited number of rooms." I took them at their word and booked an XL room for three nights at the end of November for January 11-14 for 272 euros or an equivalent of $326.40 USD. But that is a false and dishonest statement because they lowered their rates for that same room to 236.99 euros or an equivalent of 284.28 USD, just days after beginning on December 1 for a difference of $42.12 USD. I asked for our rate to be adjusted to the lower advertised rate so that they could honor their website policy of the best smart rate pre-offer. But since it was non-refundable, they refused to do so. I would have preferred the refund but since it was denied, asked for an upgrade to an XXL room. Leticia, the hotel manager, did grant us this upgrade. Upon registration, Leticia did give us three free metro ticket which was very nice of her. Room had a comfy queen bed with four pillows. Stayed in Room 46 which had a bathtub. Basically, this was a large room with a divider for the bathtub/shower/toilet. Ice was available from the reception area. Can buy sodas in the reception area or offered to hold your own sodas there as there are no refrigerators in the room. Individual safes in the room. Very helpful with advice and metro suggestions. Recommended three restaurants in the area-two which gave us each a free glass of cava (champagne) when we showed the Hotel Denit business card. Breakfast was included with our room and served from 7 AM-10AM and consisted of hot items (eggs, bacon, grilled tomato, beans) as well as fresh fruit, yogurt, assorted breads and pastries, cheeses, cold meats, coffees, and juices. There were no washcloths in our room as typical in European hotels. Individual toiletries available such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. Some scuffed-up areas in our room. Minimalist decor.
Perfect location, clean and confortable rooms, pleasent staff. Overall...for this price, much than we expected. Good breakfast, very quite quarter, close to La Rambla and Placa Catalunya. Next time in barcelona, I will booking again this hotel.
There is a big construction site just right in front of the hotel. Come here if you can handle the noise from 8 to 19. You can hear other people’s shower noise as well. Could hear other’s suitcase sound at 4 o’clock in the morning. The location is really good but that’s it. Stay away!
We stayed at Hotel Denit Barcelona on the last leg of our vacation because of the proximity of the hotel to the Aerobus Stop at he Placa de Cataluna. It was literally steps away from the Cortes Ingles Dept. Store, 2 min walk to the bus stop. Very convenient hotel, clean and bright and modern. The staff was especially nice and welcoming. Nice restful sleep. The room was spotless. I cannot complain! I will stay here again when I visit Barcelona. Thank you Jovana. You are pleasant, nice, welcoming and helpful.
Located on a small, but easy to find side street just off the airport bus drop off station at Catalunya Metro stop. Easy walk to Las Ramblas and Paseo de Garcia. Really it seems to be in the mid point for seeing the city. Easy access to bus and metro and the airport can be reached using the metro....easy, but takes about an hour. The front desk personnel very helpful providing directions to numerous sights. Rooms are Scandinavian in style, so the beds are low, which may be a problem for some. The breakfast was adequate.
Our previously booked apt fell through when we arrived in Barcelona. I started calling around to hotels at midnight. The staff at the Denit was very helpful & reassuring. They staff the desk 24 hours and were able to give us a room. The room was small & spare, but clean and comfortable. There was a coffee pot in the room. There was no street noise. There is noise from the hall but we found other guests to be careful about it, so it wasn't a problem for us. Since we booked directly with the hotel we could get breakfast for free. The breakfast had lots of choice including pastries, fruit, bacon & eggs & yogurt. The staff gave us advice on places to eat, how to get tickets to things, etc. The airport bus stops very close by & we took it easily. Staff printed our boarding passes & arranged cabs. When we returned to Barcelona for one night before flying home we decided to stay at the Denit again, instead of near the airport, reassured that the desk staff would help us navigate the ongoing strikes as we tried to get to the airport. It helped that the train stopped nearby in Placa de Catalunya, since the metro was not running. Sadly we left too early for breakfast but staff made coffee for us to take on the way. This is a good location near transit, easy to get to airport & sights. We found the room very reasonably priced & clean. It is not a luxury hotel. But the staff elevated the experience further than the more luxurious hotels we stayed in on our trip.
Walls made up from thin wood. Every time a neighbor opened a door to their room, it felt like somebody literally walked into your room. Worst sleep ever. I have also left an item and hotel offered to send it back for a 55 euros - unbelievable price. Would not recommend
The hotel is very close to the Metro. We were welcomed at the hotel Denit in a very friendly way by an English speaker. Our room is quite nice , not large but efficient and decorated in modern manner. A nice shower and bath. The lighting coud be better but seems sufficient, certainly not as many outlets for our devices easily accessible, but enough. It does have a safe and windows that open. There is an elevator. Hot pot with instant coffee. Wonderful service from the staff here. Nice cubby holes and drawers to put things. Windows open for fresh air when wanted. The dining area is on the ground floor and is beautifully lighted and modernly furnished. There was a great variety of selections for breakfast including breads, muffins, rolls scrambled eggs, ham or bacon,Tomatoes roasted, yogurt, fresh fruit, jams, meats cheeses, of course, coffee and juice, and cereals, too. A good way to start the day.
Nice location, but we had a problem. After we checked out we were advised by email that we would be charged 300 euros for the replacement of a sliding glass door to the bathroom that we were accused of breaking. We were very surprised because we did not break it, but did notice some problem with it when we checked in. The lesson I learned here was to photograph & report any problems in a room right away when you check in. The hotel did not believe us that we did not break the door, but stated that maybe we broke it but we were not aware of it. They charged my credit card so I had to contest the charge & eventually the charge was removed. It appears we were not the only guests that they have tried this on, based on some other reviews.
I was satisfied with the Denit. The room was small, cozy, but functional. Good beds, clean shower. The street is narrow and dark, room is dark also, but this is the price for having some more piece. There is no traffic and not many bars, so you can sleep well. Just around the corner is the Aerobus stop (200m) and rambla district, with bars, shops, etc. Get a good deal and book the hotel!
